GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTS Bank debits to demand, deposit accounts, except interbank and U. S. Government accounts, as reported "by banks in 3H leading centers for the month of May aggregated $269 "billion. During the past three months debits amounted to $776 billion or 10.1 per cent above the total reported for the corresponding period a year ago. At banks in New York City there was an increase of 19.I per cent compared with the corresponding three -months period a year ago; at 6 other centers the increase was 7-2 per cent; and at 337 other centers it was 3.0 per cent.
