We will all feel the loss of Shirley. She has lived here at Normandy Park Oaks since December 17, 1997! Shirley was a former board member at NPO. She was a wonderful teacher to her Bible study group. She was uncomplaining till the end with a smile on her face. Shirley always had a kind word for the activities here at the park. She recently wrote a note of thanks to the Recreation Committee letting them know how much she Page 1

appreciated the meals and socializing. Shirley had a great sense of humor. She will be missed by all of her Normandy Park family and Friends. The following is from Sharron Larson: A winning smile An energetic walk An easy friendship With neighbors and the Lord Always willing to learn Always willing to listen Shirley girl, you had us smitten! Say hi to my Jim, Shirley Let him know I m moving on As he asked of me Say hello to the others from our community Who went before you Let them know they are still in our hearts We ll all be there eventually to join you When the Lord says it s our time. Keeping Contact Recently I had a chat with our dear friend Betty Brendel. She sounds the same as ever and her attitude regarding her medical problems seem quite positive. Her legs have given her discomfort and she has just had another stent inserted in her right leg to improve the circulation. At this time she is in a wheel chair and receiving daily therapy. She misses and would love to hear more from her friends here in Normandy Park and looks forward to hearing all that is going on. Her address is: Betty Brendel Trezevent Manor #403 177 N.
