Do you know what this is? Answer in the next issue. Above: Mrs. and Mr. Jimmy Gifford receives check from Ben and Saneh Boothe, in front of damaged Masonic Lodge in West, Texas All around West, Texas we observed damage from the explosion. Houses with bricks blown off, roofs caved in, a nursing home was completely destroyed, local school damaged and will have to be torn down. It is a wonder more people were not killed. But as Saneh Boothe helped give the check for $800 from Centennial Eastern Star Chapter 74, she said: "This is what the love of Eastern Star is all about." The masons of West through Jimmy Gifford, Secretary said: "We will see that this money is used to help a person in need here in West, and we thank all the folks at Centennial Eastern Star in Las Vegas." DAMAGE IN WEST AT A GLANCE: NEWSLETTER FROM: CENTENNIAL Chapter 74, OES (EASTERN STAR, LAS VEGAS, NEW MEXICO REPORT ON CHARITABLE DONATION TO VICTIMS OF EXPLOSION, WEST, TEXAS Tuesday May 21, 2013, Ben and Saneh Boothe personally delivered a check for $800 to the Masonic Lodge, in West, Texas, to be used for the victims of the explosion there. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Gifford, (he is secretary of the lodge there) met us at the lodge. While we were presenting the check, the lodge building was under repair and the blast actually moved the building a The Masonic Lodge building actually swayed 12" from the blast and then bounced back, but it was damaged and is being repaired. Many senior citizens and not so senior citizens were injured, put out of their homes, lost much of what they had, and our small contribution will give a little help and comfort to someone. We as Freemasons, and as members of the Eastern Star need to focus more on doing some good things for others! Saneh and Ben's message is that it gives meaning to our organizations to help folks with our organization's gifts. Our thanks to everyone!
