Picnic Pals Summer 2018 Events Join us for Picnic Pals events this summer to meet other parents and let your kids play! All events are free and open to the public (no sign-ups necessary), so invite your friends! Events will be held at local parks and playgrounds, and SECPTA hosts will bring toys, chalk, and bubbles for kids to play with, too. You re welcome to bring your lunch or dinner and make it extra special! All events will be held weather-permitting. Please make sure to check the SECPTA website or the SECPTA Facebook page for updates or changes. For more information, email picnicpals@secpta.net. JUNE Friday, June 1 from 4-6pm Solon Community Park 6679 SOM Center Rd. Solon, OH 44139 Join us for the Picnic Pals kick-off celebration at the Solon Community Park! At this outdoor park, you ll find playground equipment, a separate play area for toddlers, and a large, sand-filled volleyball court, where kids can dig and build. SECPTA has reserved the pavilion space near the fireplace and will be providing a snack and drink. There will be a scavenger hunt for the kids! It has a small playground area, but the main attraction is the water area with sprinklers where the kids can run around and get soaked. (Make sure to bring the ducks some healthy foods such as rice, birdseed, or vegetable trimmings.) This park has a variety of activities for the kids to enjoy. There is a baseball diamond for a pick-up game, a playground and swings, an animal sculpture park, and tennis courts. A note that there isn t much shade at this park so please plan to bring water if it s a warm day. Friday, July 6 from 11am-1pm Lyndhurst Splash Park 1840 Brainard Rd. Lyndhurst, Ohio 44124-3928 Host: Marlee Chase This is a perfect place to have some summer water fun! Wear your swimsuits and be prepared to stay for a while! We ll meet some of Aurora's finest firefighters and get to see their special trucks and equipment. Then, we ll have some fun playing at the park, where there are several playground structures, an athletic field, and picnic tables. We ll plan to meet near the parking lot at 10am before we take a short walk on a paved path (head right at the Y if you miss us) to a nature play area, where kids can play games, build, and explore in a structured play area along the path. If they prefer doing something else, the kids have their choice of a number of play structures at the park!
