MCYC channel chatter A monthly publication of Multnomah Channel Yacht Club June 2015 The Friendliest Club on the River Since 1961 Commodore Mike White From the Commodore Hello MCYC Members. Here it is, June already and the weather is getting HOT!! Hopefully you have some boating plans in your future. Four MCYC boats cruised to Martin Island over the holiday weekend. Teri and Lori received an invitation from Dolphin Yacht Club during their Ladies Dinner to join them at their new dock in the lake. We took them up on their offer and they were gracious hosts. One evening eleven dingy s rafted together for a hors de oeuvre s/dinner floating cruise. It was a riot. Our next cruise is The Longest Day Cruise and I will let Cruise Captain Gib tell you about that. Third Friday Dinner and Club Meetings. The dinners are always inspired and the price is right. Plan to attend them and at the same time participate in all that is happening at MCYC. As always, Teri and I hope to see you at the club or on the river. Commodore Mike 50990 Dike Road Scappoose Oregon 97056 www.mcyc1.org First Lady Teri White On May 21 st Lori and I attended Dolphin Yacht Club Ladies dinner, ironically it was the White Party. They were serious about their white, table clothes, center pieces, lighting and food. Everyone was in white and some had the most extraordinary accessories. The entertainment was a real show stopper. The First Lady who is also Vice Commodore took to the stage and sang to us with the most amazing voice, followed by a trio of men MCYC Ladies Dinner September 17, 2015 Page One from their club that put the meaning of good ole boys back on the scene. They were hysterically funny, but had tremendous voices as well. Our Ladies dinner will be September 17 th and Jim Donaldson has put together a save the date card to send out the other clubs, our theme this year will be Fall The Magical Season. Our Commodore will be turning 60 in just a couple of weeks so take it easy on him going forward. Thank you all for being part of this club family. Sincerely, First Lady Teri White Save the Date RSVP to Teri White mitewhite@comcast.net
