GWRRA Arizona Chapter K Kachina Chapter May-June 2016 www.gwrraaz.org/azk Nancy Hrigora Director s Corner The weather has taken a toll on some of our scheduled rides, not temps but wind. Weather forecasters state that these gusty sand bringing winds will continue. Just another factor to be aware of when checking out ride conditions along with any traffic alerts. The NM & Region F Rally is this weekend. A small group from our chapter will be making their way to this function. A group from our chapter will be involved with judging the Light Parade and Bike show. This is to gain some experience before we run the event in October at Lake Havasu District Rally. Oh, by the way have you sent in your registration form for this event yet? Please consider attending and being involved at the function. Enjoy each ride, for even a humdrum day can have a breath-taking moment. Chapter Safe Miles Program Please remember to submit your miles each month at the chapter meeting on the sign in sheet or email them to Nancy Hrigora by the end of each month. azknancy@gmail.com All you have to send is your name and the number of Safe miles you rode for what month. A first time for the motorcycle racers to compete at the Paradise Turf race track. The weather was warm, pitied the fully geared up riders, but comfortable for the spectators. It was interesting and fun to watch them zig & zag, corner, and strategize their run. THANKS, Law Tigers for sponsoring such a fun event. Why is the 3 rd hand on a watch called the second hand? IF a word is misspelled in the dictionary, how would we know? Why do tug boats push barges? MAY 21 st Mt Lemmon Chapter Ride Mike & Nancy, Jerry Jordan and Jon & Liz decided a late breakfast in Summer Haven sounded good. The group had a leisurely ride with little traffic up the mountain. It was definitely cooler up there, but
green and lush and great views. At a stop we noticed two climbers starting to scale the rock. Mike wanted to know, how did the ropes get up there to begin with. Once we got to our destination, we noticed we were not the only group there. Nice warm eats ( got a bit chilly the last few miles) at the Saw Mill Restaurant along with good conversation. Then homebound, watching the increasing traffic going up. Nice way to start the day. GWRRA INFORMATION Hi to all, Looking for Wingers willing to answer questions for future Wing World articles.
