Sunday June 9 (Breakfast, Dinner) This morning we depart for the Hyannis ferry dock. Our one-hour, highspeed ride across Nantucket Sound brings us to the lovely island of Nantucket, one of the most unique, historic, and visually stunning places in the world. Originally a booming whaling port, Nantucket has been named a National Historic District and has changed little architecturally since the 17th century, as seaside cottages and old-fashioned lamps still line its streets. We ll take an island tour on arrival and then you will have plenty of time for exploring the charming streets where there are many inviting shops and restaurants. We return to Hyannis by ferry later this afternoon where we will have a delicious dinner at Alberto s. Monday June 10 (Breakfast, Dinner) Today we set out on a full-day, guided tour of Cape Cod. Chosen by Good Morning America viewers as one of America s 10 Most Beautiful Places, this bended arm that reaches 70 miles into the Atlantic Ocean is an area of pristine beauty. Our tour includes stops at the J. F. K. and Korean War Memorials in Hyannisport. We ll then travel by way of the Old King's Highway, which winds through centuries of Cape Cod history. See the Eastham Windmill, historic lighthouses and cranberry bogs. Cape Cod National Seashore, featured in the best-selling book, 1,000 Places To See Before You Die, is an area where rippling sand dunes and big waves from the Atlantic Ocean surround you. Enjoy the views as we make our way to the tip of the Cape where we ll stop in Provincetown to enjoy this unique artist s and fishermen s village. You will have time to relax at the hotel before we depart for another wonderful dinner. Tonight we will dine at the Riverway Lobster House, a Cape Cod tradition since 1944. 3

Tuesday June 11 (Breakfast, Dinner) Another fun day is in store today as we take a 55-minute high-speed ferry ride to Martha s Vineyard, the vacation spot of presidents! Admire the beautiful beaches and become entranced in the rich cultural life and history that make this spot so magical. This 100 square mile island is home to six unique and distinctive towns. On your sightseeing tour you will see beautiful views including gorgeous cliffs and gingerbread cottages. Then there will be time to enjoy the island independently before our ferry ride back to the Cape. This evening dinner is included at The Paddock Restaurant, considered a local institution and a "must do" on Cape Cod. Wednesday June 12 (Breakfast) We bid farewell to Cape Cod this morning and travel to Newport, Rhode Island, playground of the rich and famous and host of the America s Cup Regatta. Also voted as one of America s 10 Most Beautiful Places, Newport boasts rich Colonial history, spectacular waterfront scenery and a vibrant tourist district. Our guided driving tour of Newport will include Ocean Drive, a 10-mile seaside loop that showcases magnificent turn-of-the-century mansions and beautiful water views. After time for lunch we ll tour Kingscote. Built in 1839 as one of the first summer "cottages" constructed in Newport, Kingscote is a rare example of a Gothic Revival house and still has many of the original family furnishings. Next we will venture into the countryside just outside of Newport to a special place called Greenvale Vineyards. Taste the delicious award-winning wines on the patio overlooking vineyards that have been owned by the same family since 1863. Late this afternoon we ll check into the Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina, the most perfectly located hotel in Newport! Just steps away you can explore all of the history, shops and galleries in Newport s vibrant downtown. Enjoy live music every evening on the deck overlooking the marina. Thursday June 13 (Breakfast, Dinner) The term conspicuous consumption was born in Newport in the 19 th century and this morning you will continue to find out why! High-society families like the Vanderbilt s, Astor s and Dukes flocked here each summer to escape the urban heat. One-upmanship was the name of the game as these wealthy families built European, chateau-inspired palaces in a display of over-the-top opulence. We ll visit The Breakers, the seventy-room, twenty-three bedroom Italian Renaissance showstopper with 40-foot ceilings. Built in 1895 for Cornelius Vanderbilt, The Breakers is the product of two years of labor by 2,000 workers! Then it s on to Marble House. Built between 1888 and 1892 for William Vanderbilt, grandson of Cornelius Vanderbilt, the house was a social landmark that helped spark the transformation of Newport from a relatively relaxed summer colony of wooden houses to the now legendary resort of opulent stone palaces. A new audio tour brings the mansion s history and romance to life with never-before-told stories and first person remembrances of the colorful families who lived and visited here. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy downtown Newport. Have a bowl of chowda or a lobsta roll and then stroll through Bowen s Wharf and the Brick Marketplace. Sit and sip your favorite drink as you listen to music and watch the activity at the marina or visit the Tennis Hall of Fame. If you are so inclined, there will be an opportunity to take an easy hike along the famous Cliff Walk, a National Historic Trail that is situated 30 feet above the Atlantic shoreline. A very special event is planned for this evening as we partake in a New England Lobster Boil followed by a sunset sail on the tall ship schooner Aurora. It will be an evening you won t soon forget! Friday June 14 (Lunch) This morning we leave Newport and travel to Providence, RI where we will visit Federal Hill. We ll take a tour of the Scialo Brothers Bakery to learn about this unique family-owned establishment and taste some of the goodies made here. Browse through the Italian markets before we gather for a wonderful Italian feast at Geppetto s. Then we re on our way to the Boston airport for our flight home. We ll surely be taking with us very fond memories of a wonderful trip to Cape Cod, its beautiful islands and incredible Newport! 5
