Page 2 Chapter Director Mike Schreiner Chapter Director Happy New Year friends! 2015 is here and it s going to be a great year. 2014 is done and gone. You know what they say: The older you get the faster the time passes. And it sure went fast! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I hope there were nice Goldwing goodies under your tree. Thank you to everyone who put together a wonderful Christmas party. Thanks to John Edwards for another great job as auctioneer. Great food and fellowship! That s what we are all about. As I assume the duties as Chapter Director, I quickly realize the large shoes I have to fill. Thank you Rick and Becky for your years of service. You did a wonderful job, and I hope I can do the job as well as you did. Winter Rendezvous is coming up on February 13 14 in Columbus, IN at the Clarion Hotel. Please join the Chapters from across the district for some fun in Hawaii in Indiana! Also, Dennis and Debbie Juncker are competing for District Couple of the Year. Good luck to them! They do a great job for the district team, and I hope they are recognized. John and Ginny Edwards have volunteered to create the chapter ride schedule this year. If you would like to help, or if you have ride suggestions please let them know. Thanks John and Ginny for stepping up. Our next chapter gathering is January 11, and I hope to see you all there. Michael
Page 3 Rider Educator To All Members and Members to be, It is that time of year when the cold and wet part of the year is keeping a lot of us inside waiting to go out and get on our trusty steeds and go for a ride. Some of us will brave the cold and do a short ride and some will venture out to do the Polar Bear ride to Stoll s. Vernon Hunt Rider Educator For those of us that will not get the bike out until the weather gets above fifty degrees, there are a few things that can be done to get ready for that day when the weather breaks and we can go out to enjoy the warm weather. Just go to the closet or the garage and get your gear out to check if you need to replace your leathers, check the helmet for problems, and do not forget to check the date especially if you need to replace it. You might even want to check your intercoms out also to see if they need work or your patch cords need replaced. A couple of items that might get overlooked are the First Aid kits and the fire extinguisher. Check your first aid kit and if it is outdated replace it with a newer one. Check the fire extinguisher and if it is questionable and you are not comfortable with it go to your nearest fire equipment sales dealer and have it checked to see if it needs refilled or does it need to be replaced. I will talk about other things as to what you need to do for the next ride in future articles. Ride safe so we can meet again, Vernon Hunt (Rider Educator)
