1 Hello PSYC membership. Commodore s Report Robert Murphy JANJJan Nov 2018 2015 Well, Halloween is behind us and soon we will be setting our clocks back again. Clear signs that Fall is in full swing. In October we had our annual Poulsbo cruise. Though Mich and I were not able to attend this year via boat due to being Boat-less in Seattle, we did attend the Saturday pool and dart tournament. It was great to see everyone and we even got dry weather. Also, at our October General Meeting, the board presented an updated Code of Conduct Procedures to our membership. The board had worked thoughtfully over the year in updating the code which has not changed in the years since I have been at PSYC. The membership voted in the new procedures and we will also be incorporating a suggestion to include the code of conduct in our next roster. Looking forward, we have several dates for everyone to be aware of. First, we moved our Board and General Meeting dates for November and December up a week to avoid the holidays. In addition, we have our annual Commodores Ball on November 10 th. I hope to see everyone there! Board Meeting - November 7th General Meeting - November 14th Board Meeting - December 5th Awards Dinner - December 12th Our last cruise of the year will be the Bell Harbor cruise in December. Check out the flyer. Garry will also be talking about that later in this issue of the Sound Waves. Have a great November! Vice Commodore s Report Bill Traver The year is flying by and I have enjoyed being your Vice Commodore. We managed to get a few things done with a small budget. All new chairs in the upstairs board meeting room, a spring work party where we repaired the flag pole and a fall work party with some repairs to the building. We will be finishing the new dock soon with new dock ladders. Thanks to all of you who helped with the work parties this year. We will soon be posting a list in the club the things members can volunteer to do all year long, at their convenience. This is an effort to get more members involved in the upkeep of our club. The club is getting old and needs some loving and with the cost of the new dock we have little money to work with. Please feel free to contact me if you have ideas on this subject. See you at the Commodores Ball.
2 Rear Commodore s Report Adrienne Dahlin As the holidays approach, I have been reflecting on 2018. It was our first full year with the club and we are astounded at the number of amazing experiences we ve had. The socials, cruises, meetings, and interactions with other members have made this a year to remember. Thank you to everyone for being part of our boating family. I would like to encourage all members to attend the 2019 Cruise & Social Planning Meeting on Wednesday, November 28 th. This is our opportunity to make suggestions and/or give feedback on next year s club activities. Let s make 2019 another amazing year! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families!! Fleet Captain s Report Garry Moore The Poulsbo Pool and Dart Tournament was a success again. We had great weather, with 15 boats and 41 people attending the cruise. The winners of the Pool Tournament were Dave Meissner and Trina Smith and the Dart Competition was won by Rick Josephson and Nancy Morton. With a request from cruise participants to repeat last year s dinner, Rich and Echo again provided a great dinner of Fatties. Trina sent the membership some great photos of this extravagant feast. Bell Harbor Holiday Cruise December 7th to 9th Cruise Captains: Cindy & Bob / Gary & Donna The final cruise of the year is the highlight of the Club s holiday activities in December. We will be back again at Bell Harbor in the heart of the Seattle waterfront. You need to contact Bell Harbor Marina to reserve your slip for the cruise. Activities will include attending the Fifth Avenue play of Annie (if you ve already reserved tickets with Cindy). Please contact Cindy Josephson (joseycc@aol.com or 425-765-0379) to make sure you are included in Friday night s events. Saturday night will include dinner at Cutters and an ornament exchange that is great fun. Please also let Cindy know if you are going to attend Saturday night. Social and Cruise Planning Meeting Wednesday, November 28 th, 6:00 PM PSYC Club House The socials and cruises the Club has each year are a big part of the enjoyment of belonging to the Club. In order to have the kind of socials you want and cruises to locations you enjoy, you need to participate in the Annual Social and Cruise Planning Meeting in November. We will have pizza and soft drinks, so please attend and provide your input to help plan next year s social and cruise calendar.
