Nearby Malmesbury is a charming town, reputed to be the oldest borough in England, and has a good range of shops including a new Waitrose. Junction 17 of the M4 is about 5 miles and there are direct rail services to London Paddington from either Chippenham or Swindon (55 minutes). Private schools in the area include Querns and Westonbirt, Pinewood, Marlborough College, St Mary s Calne, and Beaudesert Park.
