Please proceed to the Lecture Theatre (Block B, Level 3) on Day 1, 19 July 2018. The venues for the Panel Sessions will be listed in the programme booklet in your Conference bag. GETTING AROUND BEFORE ARRIVAL Please ensure that you have the following: passport with at least 6 months validity a valid entry visa (if applicable) sufficient funds for the duration of your stay ON ARRIVAL IN SINGAPORE Upon your arrival in Singapore, please follow the "Arrivals" signs to the Arrival Immigration Halls for immigration clearance. GETTING AROUND GETTING TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT TO CITY You have a choice of several modes of transportation. 1. TAXI Taxis are available at the taxi stands at the Arrival levels of each Terminal. A ride to the city takes about 30 minutes and costs between $20 and $40. Fares are metered and there is an additional Airport surcharge for all trips originating from the Airport: $5 Airport surcharge: 5.00pm - midnight (Fri - Sun) $3 Airport surcharge: All other times Midnight surcharge of 50% of final metered fare: midnight - 6.00am Peak hours surcharge of 25% of final metered fare: 6.00am - 9.30am (Mon - Fri) and 6.00pm - midnight (Mon - Sun) Type of Taxi Peak Hours / Late Night 6.00am - 9.30am (Mon - Fri) and 6.00pm - midnight (Mon - Sun) Off Peak Hours All other times Regular Taxi $30 - $35 $20 - $30 Premium Taxi $40 - $50 $30-40 Tipping is not expected. Most taxi drivers speak English. The taxi journey is approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
GETTING AROUND 2. MASS RAPID TRANSIT (MRT) This mode of transport is recommended only if you have a light luggage. The train station is situated at the basement of Terminal 2. It is easily accessible by foot from Terminal 2 or Terminal 3. Airport to city (a) Know where you are (Terminal 1, 2 or 3) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) Follow the signs Train to City to get to the MRT station situated at the basement of Terminal 2. - If you are at Terminal 2 or 3, you can walk to the station. - If you are Terminal 1, you can reach Terminal 2 by riding the sky train. Buy the single ride ticket or a stored value EZ-link card at the MRT station. Tap the card at the card reader to gain access to the train platform. Board the train and alight at Tanah Merah station. To get to the city, transfer to the westbound train at Tanah Merah station. First train to Tanah Merah Station departs Changi Airport Station at 5.31am on Mondays to Saturdays and at 5.59am on Sunday and public holidays. Last train to Tanah Merah station that connects to the city departs Changi Airport Station at 11.18pm. City to airport To get to Changi, transfer to the eastbound train at Tanah Merah station. First train to Changi Airport departs Tanah Merah Station at 5.20am from Monday to Saturday and 5.47am on Sunday and public holidays. The train service that leaves Changi Airport station at 11:18pm daily will connect you to the last west bound train service at Tanah Merah station. Please click here for more information. CITY SHUTTLE (FROM CHANGI AIRPORT) The City Shuttle will bring passengers to most downtown hotels at a rate of S$9 per adult / S$6 per child (below 12 years of age). *The City Shuttle departs every 15 minutes during peak hours and up to 30 minutes during non-peak hours. Please approach the 24-hour Ground Transport Concierge at the Arrival Halls for bookings or call the hotlines for more information. GENERAL INFORMATION DRESS CODE FOR CONFERENCE The dress code for the Conference is casual business attire. The Lecture Theatre and Panel Rooms may be cool due to air-conditioning and you may want to have a jacket or sweater handy. The dress code for the Welcome Dinner is smart casual. CONFERENCE BAGS Upon registration, you will receive a Conference package containing your name badge and all the Conference materials. Please wear your name badge during all times when in the campus. MEALS There will be morning and afternoon tea breaks, and buffet lunch provided on 19, 20 and 21 July 2018. The Welcome Dinner will be held on 19 July 2018. Light snacks, coffee, tea, and chilled water will be available during the scheduled tea breaks. INTERNET ACCESS There will be free Wi-Fi internet connection at the campus. If your laptop computers or mobile devices have Wi-Fi capabilities, you may use the login ID and password listed at the back of your name badge to access the campus s network.

TRAVELLER S GUIDE TIME Singapore time is GMT plus eight hours. CLIMATE Singapore has a tropical rainforest climate with no distinctive seasons, uniform temperature and pressure, high humidity, and abundant rainfall. Temperatures usually range from 25 to 35 C (72 to 95 F). LOCAL CURRENCY AND EXCHANGE RATE The Singapore dollar (SGD) is the official currency of Singapore. 1 USD is about 1.35 SGD. The notes come in denominations of S$2, S$5, S$10, S$50, S$100, S$1,000 and S$10,000. Coins come in 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents and S$1. There are reliable licensed money changers all over the city, and you can also easily spot several ATMs and currency exchange booths located throughout the Airport Terminals. LANGUAGE Most Singaporeans speak English and an additional language, usually Mandarin Chinese, Malay or Tamil. Singlish is also commonly used (Colloquial Singaporean English). NO SMOKING AREAS Smoking is not allowed in all air-conditioned places, such as malls and eateries. There are designated smoking areas in some entertainment outlets and open-air eateries. Smoking is not allowed in the campus. INTERNET ACCESS There is normally complimentary wireless internet connection in the Hotels. You may also continue making calls and sending messages on your mobile phone by purchasing a Singapore prepaid SIM card. You may approach any stores of the three local telecommunications companies (M1, SingTel and Starhub) to purchase these SIM cards. Wi-Fi hotspots are also widely available at various public areas in Singapore. POWER PLUG The standard electrical current used in Singapore is 220-240 volts AC (50 cycles) and you can use power plugs with three square prongs here.
