Scribe Report for Southport Rotary Club Meeting 12 th November 2013 Chair Marion Jones opened the meeting with Rotary Grace and the Loyal Toast David Randall proposed the International toast to the Rotary Club of Makati of District 3830 in the Philippines President Lambert welcomed Jenny Hobart Reports: Bill Connelly; Reminded everyone that next week our meeting will be held with the Rotoractors at the Court House Hotel @615pm, Meals need to be selected by Thursday Bill advised he will have move details regarding the Coomera Valley Club joint meeting next week Gold Coast Little Theatre has offered a discount for group bookings to see Don t just lie there- say something David Randall; Advised there is a full house for the Race Day, he also thanked everyone for their support David also advised the club that the club will be sending 1 student to RYTS and 3 Participants to RYLA Don Dinneen; Reminded everyone of the Rotary Xmas Cakes & Puddings that are available for purchase Funds raised go to District and Foundations Jenny Hobart; Extended and invitation to all members to who wish to join the Rotary Anne s on a Boat Cruise on Thursday includes morning tea Cost $1800 all welcome Peter Overell; There are spots on the Carousel Roster that need to be covered on the 23 rd November, please contact Peter if you are available to help out Peter asked all members to think about helping or finding someone to help out as there are very few members helping out Secretary s Report; 26 Members and 1 Guest Graham reminded all members of the International Conference to be held in Sydney June 1-4 2014 Early bird closes December 15 th 2013 Graham also asked members to think about contributing to Every Rotarian Every Year & Polio Sergeant Andrew Middleton extracted fines from a number of members such as; Hugh for his female rental car, Don as Gail and Don will be celebrating their 50 th Wedding Anniversary on the 16 th, President Lambert for missing the Board meeting last night, Graham Cooper as it was his Birthday today Michael for his return even though Michael has done 15 club visits and 4 shifts on the Carousel since his last attendance on the 14 th October Cross fines followed, Michael fined Tony S for having a Dynamic son who was also a Rotarian and recently raised funds for Polio Plus with a BBQ at his home; Michael followed this with a challenge to all members who haven t donated to Polio Plus to do so David fined Andrew for not fining him as it was the first time in 17 years he wasn t given a fine, Graham C fined everyone who wasn t celebrating a Birthday today and Graham J fined Neil R and Peter H for suggesting their golf clubs be used in their hospital rehabilitation program Heads and Tails; Gary Wachter Raffle; Bill Connelly President Lambert Adjourned the Weekly meeting and Opened the Annual General Meeting The Agenda was followed, with Minuets for 2011-12 being accepted, the Audited report presented and accepted The revised constitution to be submitted to the office of fair trade was also accepted President Elect Michelle presented her Board for 2014-15 for member s approval which was accepted 2014-2015 Board Secretary- Leanda Cooper Treasurer-Mervyn Powell Foundation- Past President -Lambert Wang Club Administration- Marion Jones Rotator November 19 3
