7/2/2018 Sgt. Yonley received a call from a male stating that a family relative contacted him via text message and advised he may do harm to himself. After speaking with the male and contacting authorities in reference to the text messages, it was determined that the suicidal male resided in the State of West Virginia. Deputy Holland arrested Summer Longenette on a Probation Violation. Deputy Gavin responded to a reckless driver on State Route 800 near County Road 2. Upon arriving in the area, the vehicle was not found. Deputy Gavin and Sgt. Peska responded to a residence in Antioch for a male with a Warrant. Upon arriving at the residence, the male was not located. Sgt. Peska responded to an address on State Route 800 for a male who shot a gas line at his residence. Upon arriving at the residence, the line was repaired by the company. No report needed. Deputy Bilyeu responded to a trespassing complaint in Sardis. Upon arriving at the residence and making contact with people, the property owners were contacted and advised of who was on the property. The owners of the property advised they could be there. No case needed. Deputy Bilyeu responded to a reckless driver on State Route 7. The vehicle was found and stopped. Upon speaking with the driver, it was determined the male was from Dayton and 94 years old. The male stated he was tired and wanted to rest for awhile. He was put in a hotel for the night in New Martinsville per his request. 7/3/2018 Deputy Ridley and Deputy Copley located a suspicious vehicle at the church in Brownsville. After investigating, the church was secured and no one was around the vehicle. Deputy Ridley and Deputy Copley were called to Clarington, due to a suspicious person complaint. Negative contact was made with any person or persons matching the description of the individual. Deputy Ridley and Deputy Copley were dispatched to a hit skip at the Long Ridge Terminal. A report was taken and investigation pending. Deputy Weekley responded to a call of a male subject blocking County workers from grading Sugar Tree Road. The subject was advised not to be blocking the road. No further action needed. 7/3/2018 Deputy Bilyeu responded to an accident without injuries on County Road 81 near State Route 7. The driver lost control of the vehicle and ran into the ditch. The squad was called to the scene and the driver refused transport to the hospital. The driver was issued a citation for failure to control. Sgt. Peska responded to a hazard in the roadway on Hall s Road. The property owner had stuck trees on the shoulder of the roadway to keep the oil and gas traffic from passing through. Contact with the property owner was tried on two separate times with negative contact. Pictures were obtained, and the trees were removed from the roadway. A case/investigation is pending.
Deputy Bilyeu and Sgt. Peska responded to an accident on State Route 78 near Township Road 4 with injuries. The driver Jared Gray lost control and rolled his vehicle, landing on the roof. Jared refused medical treatment at the scene. Jared was arrested for OVI and transported to the Woodsfield Police Department for a breath test. He refused the test and was transported to the Monroe County Sheriff s Office. Sgt. Peska took a complaint of a reckless driver on Run Road. The victim wanted more patrols in the area. No Criminal Case filed. Sgt. Peska took a complaint of harassment on Sykes Ridge Road. After speaking with the victim, it was determined the complainant was being harassed. No case needed at this time. Deputy Bilyeu arrested Brook Oilfield for a Probation Violation. She was transported to the Monroe County Sheriff s Office Jail. 7/4/2018 Sgt. Yonley received a call from New Martinsville Police Department requesting members of our K-9 Unit to assist them with a situation. According to the NMPD, they had a subject flee from them after a theft occurred in their city. K-9 Ax and K-9 Nemo responded with Deputy Ridley and Sgt. Peska. An area search was conducted for the subject, however he was not in that area. Later in the morning Chief Cecil contacted Sgt. Yonley and advised the subject was apprehended. Deputy Schuerman responded to a tree in the roadway on State Route78 near Swiss Hills. Deputy Schuerman was able to remove the tree from the roadway. Sgt. Smith responded to a residence for an unruly juvenile. The juvenile was counseled and left in the custody of the parents. Sgt. Smith responded to the same residence for an unruly juvenile. This time the juvenile was acting out and striking his parents. The juvenile was transported by medical squad to the hospital for a mental evaluation. 7/5/2018 Sgt. Yonley received a call from Amanda Adams in reference to an argument she was having with her husband John Adams. Sgt. Yonley and Deputy Blamble responded to the call. There was nothing criminal that occurred and John Adams agreed to go to his fathers for the night. Sgt. Yonley executed a traffic stop on State Route 7 in Jackson Township. After the investigation, Tristen Clegg of Powhatan Point was arrested and charged with OVI, Driving Left of Center and Improper Handling of a Firearm. Sgt. Smith and Deputy Schuerman investigated a Domestic Violence situation. A male subject sustained an injury to his arm after punching a window. The subject was transported and treated at the hospital after being released, he made threats to kill people at the residence. A report was filed and a warrant obtained Robert Ely. Robert was arrested as he was walking back from the hospital to the residence. Robert was transported to the Monroe County Sheriff s Office Jail.
Deputy Schuerman investigated a 2-vehicle crash with injuries on State Route 145 in Sunbury Township. One driver was cited for Failure to Maintain Assured Clear Distance and a crash report was taken. Deputy Poling investigated a suspicious vehicle on Mellott Ridge Road. Contact was made with the vehicle and found to be the property owner sitting in an area that had cell phone service. Deputy Poling responded to a 9-1-1 Hang up call. It was determined to be a phone problem with no emergencies. 7/6/2018 Sgt. Peska responded to a reckless driver on State Route 7 near Hannibal. Upon arriving in the area, there was no vehicle found matching the description. Deputy Bilyeu responded to a male that was not breathing in Sardis. Upon arriving, the male was already conscious and talking. He refused transport by Sardis EMS. Sgt. Peska handled a walk-in complaint in reference to a custody issue. Upon speaking with both parties, they were advised to contact their attorneys, due to it being a civil issue. Sgt. Peska, K-9 Nemo and Deputy Copley assisted the Antioch Carnival. Sgt. Peska handled a stolen cellphone complaint on Wolf Pen Road. Upon arriving and speaking with the suspect and victim, the cellphone had already been retuned and didn t want charges pressed. Deputy Bilyeu responded to a semi stuck on Narrows Run Road. Upon arriving, the driver was trying to make a turn and put the trailer in the ditch. The tow truck was called to pull the semi out and a citation was issued for failure to control. A crash report will be completed. 7/7/2018 Deputy Ridley responded to a complaint of kids riding bikes down State Route 800, he made contact with the kids and found they had done nothing wrong and had permission to go on the bike ride. Theywere advised to be careful near the road ways. Deputy Ridley received a call with a custody complaint. Deputy Ridley advised to contact the Court on Monday and to get a Court Order Custody Paperwork. Deputy Ridley had a female walk-in complaint at the MCSO. The female filled out a statement in reference to a crash she was involved in earlier this week. The female also received a citation for the accident. Deputy Bilyeu responded to a suspicious vehicle at the Buchanan Church on State Route 78. Upon arriving and checking the area no vehicle was found. The church was secure. Deputy Bilyeu and Sgt. Peska patrolled the Miltonsburg area for fireworks and a noise complaint. There was a small party going on, but the city was quite and no fireworks or loud music was being played. Deputy Copley responded to an accident with out injuries in Cameron involving a semi. The driver hit the guardrail with the trailer, causing minor damage to both. A report was taken and a citation was issued to the driver for failure to control.
Sgt. Peska responded to an accident without injuries on Patton Run Road. The vehicle had run off the roadway and landed on it s side. A tow truck was called and a crash report was taken. The driver was issued a citation for Failure to Control. Sgt. Peska responded to a suspicious male at the Riverside Golf Course. The male was fishing along the shoreline. Upon arriving and speaking with the male who was with his young son, he stated two individuals in kayaks were trespassing on the golf course property and were advised to leave. He didn t want to press charges. The two males in the kayak were gone upon arrival. Sgt. Peska responded to an erratic driver on State Route 145. Upon arriving in the area, no contact with the vehicle was made. 7/8/2018 Deputy Ridley and Deputy Weekley responded to a trespassing complaint in the Miltonsburg Area. After arriving, the trespassing parties had already left. Noting further was needed. Deputy Ridley and Deputy Weekley responded to a noise complaint in the Miltonsburg area. After checking the area, a group was located and asked to keep it down. Deputy Weekley responded to a crash on State Route 800 in the Malaga Area. A crash report was taken. Deputy Bilyeu, Sgt. Peska and K-9 Nemo responded to a male looking in a couple s tent at Piatt Park. Upon arriving and speaking with the victim, they didn t want to press any charges, they just wanted to leave the property. Deputy Bilyeu responded to an erratic driver on State Route 7 near the Belmont County line. No contact with the vehicle was made and the information was passed onto the Belmont County Sheriff s Office.
