KEY FINDINGS S O U T H E R N PA L M E R T O W N CONSERVATION & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY KEY FINDINGS FROM THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS TO DATE: Most participants are not very familiar with the name, Palmertown The area is best suited to conservation and recreation Strong support for the creation of a network of connected trails Participants overwhelmingly favor muscle-powered over motorpowered activities, and indicated a need to accommodate different users These stakeholders are not very keen on hunting or snowmobiling Participants are most interested in enhancing their quality of life A nonprofit organization or publicprivate partnership is best suited to lead implementation of the plan

Identify key trail corridors to better connect communities, existing trail systems, and key destinations in focal study area; 5. Develop draft plan; and 6. Public presentation of draft plan in Summer 2018.

IMPLEMENTATION S O U T H E R N PA L M E R T O W N CONSERVATION & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY Exploring opportunities for development of a community forest in the region; Developing a multi-municipality MOU in support of the plan and shared goals; and Continuing outreach and education to the local communities and property owners.
