We call on other members to encourage those members no longer actively riding to remain as members and share the comradery of the club. The National Committee would like to remind all members that one of the criteria to be a member is to have an interest in riding motorcycles. The Minutes of the National Committee meeting held on 28th August are now on the Ulysses Club website and can be there. The National Committee has been advised by Treasurer Mike Abberfield that he will not be nominating for the National Committee for 2016, and the Members of the National Committee thank Mike for his time as Treasurer. Nominations for the National Committee as previously notified to members, close on 30th November. The Telemachus Medal was initiated in 2010 to fill a void and to recognise that many deserving members who would not meet the criteria for a Life Membership or a Dearnley Medal, were not being recognised by their Branch for the service and commitment they provided. The Telemachus Medal is designed to acknowledge a members contribution to the Branch with which they choose to align themselves. The medal is designed to recognise service which is above and beyond the normal expectations of any member. The National Committee believe that the recognition of member's service provides an opportunity for others to recognise those who are often the "backbone or "stalwart of a Branch, who selflessly give of themselves so others may benefit. A couple of weeks ago, Henry Rokx on behalf of the National Committee received notification from the Victorian Club Plate Scheme scrutineer, Geoff Williams that he was stepping down from his role after 3 years. Geoff has worked tirelessly to make the scheme a success in Victoria, so it is with some sadness that we say goodbye to Geoff. On behalf of the National Committee Henry would like to wish Geoff and his wife Dianne well and we are very grateful for the time and effort that Geoff has put in. Geoff will of course still be available from time to time to assist the new man at the helm. Please read Geoff's letter which is on the website under News. Nominations for positions on the National Committee for 2016 must be received by the National Secretary by November 30, 2015. Nominations should be addressed to the National Secretary and sent to: Ulysses Club Inc. National Administration Office P.O. Box 3242 Narellan NSW 2567 Please note that all nominations must be in writing and need to be signed by the Proposer, Seconder and Nominees, who must all be financial members of the Ulysses Club Inc. The Nomination form can be found here and is also available by request to the National Secretary here National Committee Helena, Jen, Mike, Mark, Henry, Peter and John 3

First Aid for Motorcyclists is a highly specialsed half day training course developed specifically for riders. It teaches the vital skills and knowledge needed to provide immediate roadside first aid and effectively manage the accident scene until emergency services arrive. This is NOT a regular first aid course Training is delivered by highly qualified experienced first aid instructors who ride. By the end of this practical, hands on training session you'll have learnt when and how to perform emergency helmet removal, give effective CPR, move a casualty in danger, treat a rider with serious road trauma injuries and safely manage the accident scene. For those that are interested, this important training is being held in Wodonga on 21 November. The Ulysses Club rebate of 50% of the course fee to a maximum of $60.00 is available, which makes the cost of this training a very affordable $39.00 per person. Neil Purvis Christmas Party Please pay for Christmas Dinner at the November meeting, $30 per head 4
