A few days later, she received a text from Advance America about getting a $1,000 to $10,000 loan. She returned the callback
number and was going to get a $1,000 loan; $491 was deposited into her checking account. Later, the loan company contacted her and she was asked to wire $420 back to them. While at Walmart getting a money wire, the clerk informed her that she believed that she was being scammed and to contact the police. Police identified the driver who said he was tired. No signs of impairment; driver was advised. He felt that it was a scam after googling the phone number and it indicated it was related to IRS scams. There was also a male sitting in the passenger seat, approximately 13 years old. County Road 101 and Highway 55, Medina 16003508) Fraud - Credit Card Reported: 05-26-2016 1005 Resident reported that someone attempted to open several credits cards in his name. 100 block Chippewa Road, Loretto (16003526) Customer Trouble Reported: 05-26-2016 1952 Individual said he saw a male inside the store hassling employees. Individual was in the drive-
thru and said employees told him the male was causing a disruption; the male had also removed two chairs from inside and placed them in his truck. Police went inside and spoke with the customer. He was upset because he was overcharged and it took employees too long to prepare his food. He said he asked for a refund and employees told him there was not a manager on site to help him. He said he took the chairs outside in hopes of motivating employees to meet his request. He was told to return the chairs to the store or he could be charged with theft. Employees were able to refund his money. He was also told he should take any complaints up with an upper level manager or the corporate office rather than causing a scene in the store. 700 block Highway 55, Medina (16003529) Motorist Assist Reported: 05-26-2016 2244 Vehicle would not idle; appeared the alternator was not working. While police were en route to the area, the female called dispatch and said she was at her boyfriend s house and help was no longer needed. Police located the female standing on the side of the road. She was crying and appeared to be intoxicated. She said she had been in a verbal argument with her boyfriend; however, she did not wish to pursue the incident any further. Police gave her a ride to her residence in Plymouth. Total reported loss is $936.74. 300 block Clydesdale Trail, Medina (16003554) Suspicious Act Reported: 05-27-2016 2012 Police responded to the report of suspicious activity. Individual was reporting a Jeep had been following him for ten miles. He lost visual contact with the vehicle as he pulled into the Holiday lot. He later called back and advised he had located the vehicle in the lot at Collision Corner in Maple Plain. He spoke with an employee there and the employee said he was following him because he saw that he was driving slowly by and thought he was suspicious. Police offered to transport him to a shelter; he stated that he did not like to go there because of the sex and drug abuse. earlier in the day for walking through yards in the area.
