2 6a THE CLIFFS HEYSHAM (GROUND-FLOOR) More information from Allan or Jan on Or HOW TO GET TO YOUR HOLIDAY FLAT at LA3 1NY: Leave the M6 at junction 34, and drive into Lancaster selecting right-hand lane on one-way system, then straight on at lights on the A683 towards Morecambe, which crosses the River Lune and then follows it, with the river on your left. Turn left at the first roundabout, (sign-posted to Salt Ayre / Waste Recycling). Drive past ASDA 24 hour supermarket as far as a small roundabout; take 2 nd exit, which leads immediately to a larger roundabout, where you need to go straight across (2 nd exit), through a small industrial estate. Keep straight on following Mellishaw Lane, which changes its name to Oxcliffe Road, continuing for over a mile to traffic lights at the end. Go straight across up Whinnisty Lane, then 1 st right into Twemlow Parade, leading into Royds Avenue. Please park your vehicle on the left at the end. The Cliffs is in front of you. The front entrance to flat 6a, for access by wheelchair, is the first entrance off the wide footpath to the right, facing the sea. INSIDE YOUR HOLIDAY FLAT Entrance and doorways to study, lounge and en-suite bedroom all widened to at least 2ft 9inches. Doorways to kitchen, laundry and bedroom 2 are 2ft 6inches wide. The flat is comfortably furnished and has central heating. There is a phone for incoming calls Spacious lounge TV with freeview and DVD player. Bakare Devon electric-powered reclining chair with adjustable height and fold-away arms, specially designed to allow easy transfer from a wheelchair. Well-equipped kitchen, dishwasher / automatic washing machine in separate laundry room. Separate study with same stunning view. There is a dining table in the kitchen, which may be positioned in the lounge if required. In addition, there is a height- adjustable table for use in lounge or study and 2 over-bed tables for bedroom use. The 1 st bedroom is en-suite and has 2 Bakare electrically operated fully adjustable (height, head and foot) beds fitted with pressure relieving mattresses and monkey poles. Television. Ceiling track hoist to transfer from either bed to shower-chair or wheelchair. A self or carer-propelled shower-chair and commode / full or horse-shoe cushion is available. There is a wheel-in shower, toilet with support grip handles and wheelchair accessible wash-basin. Two sizes of toilet seat raisers are available. The 2 nd bedroom has 2 single beds. If required, the Oxford mini hoist can be used with these beds. The 3 rd bedroom has 2 single bunk beds. There is a house bathroom (with bath and shower) for bedrooms 2 and 3. Double / single folding beds and a cot are available for extra sleeping accommodation. OUTSIDE YOUR HOLIDAY FLAT - Without actually leaving your flat, you will have a magnificent view across Morecambe Bay, with the Lake District fells beyond. Thousands of sea-birds inhabit the expanse of the bay, and you may enhance your enjoyment of all this by using our superb telescope, which is available to you for the duration of your stay. The picturesque village of Heysham is a minute walk or by wheelchair along the promenade to the south. Shops including groceries, chemist, pubs, restaurants, take-aways minutes walk. The promenade to the north offers a 20 to 30 minute walk into Morecambe town centre and beyond. If you are able-bodied, you may enjoy use of our mountain bikes during your stay. FURTHER AFIELD - You can quickly reach the Lake District via the M6 or A6, and a little closer, Arneside and its surroundings, including Leighton Moss nature reserve, are well worth a visit. The Bowland fells and Yorkshire Dales can also be reached in an hour or less. You can sail to the Isle of Man from Heysham docks.
