We produce our very own three and a half hour programme of comprehensive coverage of the entire event - London's biggest annual Outside Broadcast - and beam it live around the World. You need to let your local stations know that they can screen your performance live free of charge.

7 THE FESTIVAL CONCERTS Concerts on 29 th and 30 th December 2018 and 2 nd January 2019 Professional stage management team. One hour technical rehearsal on performance day. Supporters receive complimentary tickets to watch. Sell out audience each evening. Live stream on our web site from all concert venues. Four concert venues. 1. Cadogan Hall. 2. St. Johns, Smith Square. 3. Westminster Central Hall. 4. Southwark Cathedral.

8 900-seat venue on Sloane Terrace in Chelsea. Completed in 1907 to designs by the architect Robert Fellowes Chisholm. Now a Grade II listed building noted for its stained glass windows. Home of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Used by Sir John Eliot Gardiner as a recording venue for the Mozart symphonies. CADOGAN HALL

9 BAND EQUIPMENT All band equipment and instruments will be transported to and from London by an international freight company. Includes all instruments (larger and including a trumpet in a standard case upwards), hats and uniforms. Smaller instruments that are not included to be carried onto the airplane. All Instruments must be packed in hard cases.

10 TRAVEL DOCUMENTS BEFORE YOU GO Check your passport has a minimum of six months validity at the date of travel i.e. July Take two photocopies of the biographical page of your passport in case you lose the original. Check if you need a Visa. Note: US Passport holders do not require a Visa

11 ELECTRICAL DEVICES Electrical current in England = volts. Adaptors v Transformers there is a difference! Beware the hair straighteners!

12 CELL PHONES Smartphones and tablets will all work fine with the higher voltage in England. For cell phone service you will need an overseas plan. Speak to your supplier prior to travel. Free WiFi in your hotel so download Skype or FaceTime for free face-to-face calls.

13 CELL PHONE PLANS AT&T and Verizon are the main cell phone providers in the US. Contact your local service provider to find out if your calling plan has an international service already tied to it. Their offers change regularly so make sure you check for the best deals.

17 PACKING Away for just one week don t over do it!!! One check-in bag free 50lbs in weight and total dimensions 62 inches. Airlines vary so double check on-line. One carry on and a purse or laptop bag. You may have to take your small instrument as a carry on.

18 PACKING What clothes to pack? Temperature in London at New Year; Average Low 37F Average High 48F Layers are the answer; T-shirt. Sweatshirt. Light waterproof jacket. Comfortable walking shoes. NYE party clothes. Concert uniform.

19 AIRPORT PROTOCOL Don t leave home without your passport. Don t be late. No ticket required. Check-in your suitcase. Seats pre allocated. Airport security. All liquids and gels must be put in plastic bags when travelling on the airplane.

20 YOUR TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT Transatlantic flights all overnight. London is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Time (6 hours Central, 7 hours Mountain, 8 hours Pacific). Try to get some rest. Dinner, breakfast and soft drinks all free on board. Movies, TV and music all free. Bring your own headset.

53 TOUR ASSISTANT Youth Music of the World will provide a resident Tour Assistant who will be looking after you throughout your performance and sightseeing programme. A young person with knowledge of the city and local customs. They will coordinate all aspects of the daily programme, working with the hotel management, performance team, coach company, Blue Badge guides, all entrances as well as assist with your unstructured time.
