Ataturk Central Horticultural Research Institute The land of the Institute was originally purchased by Ataturk in 1929 in attempt to ensure competent and efficient agricultural development in the region and in the country to implement modern agro-technological methods and to familiarize farmers with the most recent technologies. The land was named Nation Farm by Atatürk who always showed a keen interest in Yalova. He donated his farm to the state in 1938 with all the properties, which subsequently became the Ataturk Central Horticultural Research Institute in Institute belongs to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, and as the Central Institute for horticulture continues to do research with similar ideals and the same energy as it was first established.
