Continue to enjoy the hotel facilities before returning to the airport. Nightlife The nightlife in the towns of St. Paul s Bay, Bugibba and Qawra consists of many bars, pubs, cafés and restaurants. There is also a club on the so-called Bay Square or Piazza which doesn t have a cover charge, as is the case with most clubs on Malta. There is a large variety of bars of different styles. The simplest bars are the cheapest, and are often patronised by many of the older Maltese. There are also many bars for the younger crowd and sometimes have a very interesting, artistic design. For example, close to Bay Square is a bar that looks like a cave! Then there are numerous British, Scottish and Irish pubs that offer Guinness, and even some German wheat beer. Many pubs also have live music and jam sessions. Snacks are often on the menu as well. Almost all pubs have TVs or even large screens to show sport events, and all of them have air conditioning to keep the hot summer nights cool. Your Teachers Food and Meals Malta offers a wide variety of sophisticated international cuisine to suit every budget. Italy has a big influence, with some great pizza and pasta restaurants but the main resorts offer everything from Japanese to Brazilian to Pan-Asian cuisine. Traditional Maltese food is rustic and based on the seasons. Look out for Lampuki Pie (fish pie), Rabbit Stew, Bragioli (beef olives), Kapunata, (Maltese version of ratatouille), and widow s soup, which includes a small round of Gbejniet (sheep or goat s cheese). On most food shop counters, you ll see Bigilla, a thick pate of broad beans with garlic. The snacks that must be tried are hobz biz-zejt (round of bread dipped in olive oil, rubbed with ripe tomatoes and filled with a mix of tuna, onion, garlic, tomatoes and capers) and pastizzi (flaky pastry parcel filled with ricotta or mushy peas). Favourite dessert delicacies are Kannoli (tube of crispy, fried pastry filled with ricotta), Sicilian-style, semifreddo desserts (mix of sponge, ice-cream, candied fruits and cream) and Helwa tat-tork (sweet sugary mixture of crushed and whole almonds).

4 Malta may not be renowned like its larger Mediterranean neighbours for wine production, but Maltese vintages are more than holding their own at international competitions, winning several accolades in France, Italy and further afield. 5 Flights and Transfers Flights: This holiday is quoted flight exclusive. However, we are happy to quote a price including a flight from the UK. We can also quote for add-ons to the UK and airport hotels where necessary. Please call us for details. Transfers: Airport transfers are not included. The Seashells Resort is situated just 15 minutes from Malta Luqa airport. NB: It is important that your holiday is confirmed to you by us before you buy your flights. Making you own way to the hotel for ground only package What to Expect in terms of Organisation On Arrival: You will be able to check into your room from 3pm. If you are arriving early reception will be happy to store your luggage while you enjoy the hotel facilities. Treatments: Treatment times need to be pre-booked prior to departure. The earlier you can do this with us the better, to guarantee your preferred times. Satsanga Spa: You will have full access to the spa and its facilities for the duration of your stay. The spa is open daily from 9am until 9pm. Before Your Go Budgeting for your holiday: Here are some guidelines on prices, to help you do your own calculations. In brief, Insurance is a condition of booking. Visas may be required for non EU citizens. British nationals need a full passport to travel to Malta. Travel Documents: You receive these when you have paid for your holiday in full and we have received your airline tickets. In some cases the airlines do not release the tickets until five days before the departure date. We also confirm the address and phone number of the hotel and the emergency contact numbers. Essential equipment and clothing to bring. At Your Destination Banks and Money: The easiest way to obtain euros is by using a credit card at cash points. You can buy small amounts, as often as you like, at any time, without queuing. You will need to know your P.I.N. Bank opening hours are normally 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Banks will change cash, travellers cheques and will sell you currency on your credit card providing the lines to Britain are open. You will always need to show your passport at a bank. Tipping: This is less common in Malta than in Britain so there's no need to tip taxis. Leaving a euro for a nice meal is sufficient but entirely up to you. Language: Malta's first language is English.
