Space and privacy is a hallmark at Hideaway which has some of the largest beachfront villas in the Maldives. Opened in 2005, and widely updated in a US$50m renovation in 2014, Hideaway has 103 extremely spacious villas, all (except seven Sunset Beach Villas) with their own private pool or Jacuzzi. Hideaway s island host (butler) service is near legendary, ensuring that a dream getaway with exemplary service is a reality. Famous for its outstanding double coral reef that brings a vibrant underwater world to just a few metres from its shores, Hideaway is a tropical paradise of long stretches of soft white sand beaches and a warm, crystal-clear turquoise lagoon. Only a 75-minute seaplane flight from the capital city, Malé, Hideaway is also easily reached by more exclusive transport: its marina offers a berth for yacht owners while those arriving by private jet can land at Hanimaadhoo International Airport (HAQ), which is a short 25-minute speedboat journey from Hideaway. A collection of four restaurants and bars offer a world of fine dining including an excellent wine collection. Where the resort really stands out is in its tailor-made dining experiences. Dining can be enjoyed outside on the deck overlooking the lagoon or indoors, where large windows open for refreshing ocean breeze. For a worthy romantic experience we recommend booking one of the two over-water private dining pavilions. MEERU BAR & GRILL At the beachfront Meeru Bar and Grill you ll find casual dining served to perfection. Open from late morning until late at night, this poolside restaurant is the home to an appealing international menu. Dine outside on the deck overlooking the lagoon and watch sting rays, baby sharks and fish swimming in the ocean below. Must tries include a crispy pizza, fresh from the wood-fired pizza oven; a tender premium cut of dry aged beef; or for a spectacular start to the meal, fresh lobsters and local seafood - scooped from our aquarium while you watch - perfectly prepared on the lava stone grill. SAMSARA ASIAN RESTAURANT With its romantic location on stilts over the lagoon, Samsara is a food-lover s paradise. With an exquisite selection of modern Indian specialties on the menu, this is where fine dining becomes a pleasure. With a menu as dramatic as the setting, Samsara deserves at least two visits: once to begin exploring the outstanding a la carte menu and once to experience the theatric teppanyaki table a unique experience of Indian dishes created on the griddle before the diners. We re easily reached by a 75-minute seaplane flight. Please note that the seaplane flights are operated by Trans Maldivian Airways and the transfer price is charged to the room bill. Seaplanes can only fly during daylight hours. For guests arriving in the Maldives before 23.00, we can arrange a domestic flight to Hanimadhoo domestic airport, followed by a short 25-minute speedboat transfer. Guests arriving after will need overnight accommodation in Male, which we can arrange if requested.
