What to see in Nicaragua Page 2 1 Islands Ometepe Island 2 Islands Corn Island 3 Volcanoes Masaya Volcano National Park 4 Beaches San Juan del Sur raul cortazar cortazar: Ometepe is an island located in Lake Nicaragua and is formed by two volcanoes that join to form an interesting figure of eight which can be seen from the sky. A tour of its forest is amazing such as the Ecological Reserve of Charco Verde which is inhabited by monkeys, reptiles and many birds. The beaches found amongst the vegetation from which you can contemplate beautiful views of the island is a joy to the senses. Not forgetting the Ojo de Agua, a natural spring to relax in and stop along the way for a swim in crystal clear waters. I also recommend making the most of Moyogalpa parties, music, food, dancing and a completely indigenous atmosphere. Best wishes for the conservation of this beautiful island! Ometepe Island, Moyogalpa malclown: Big Corn Island and Little Corn Island: 2 paradises on the 7th kilometer from Bluefields Bay, without tourism. The few 2700 inhabitants of these islands are reluctant to sell the land they first took from the Pirates of the Caribbean: evidence in the funds of its beaches for diving lovers all in the form of Spanish galleons and other vessels of the old empire. But it is also known for its interesting heritage of that era found in the people. The Creole English of Nicaragua. Pristine beaches whose main fans are indigenous, proud of its coral reef paradise. To reach it there is an airstrip in the same Big Corn Island, but I advise you to go up to the pangas of fishermen, which is much cheaper and a more pure and humble spot. Discover the essence of its most intimate tenderness even in the distance from my home, it has only been possible traveling to certain regions where its people have taught me humility to beauty, and the people of the Corn Islands, that is all they want Corn Island, Isla del Maíz Anna (Diario Kiana): This is the sign we found in the parking lot upon arrival to the volcano. The sign states that the Masaya volcano is still active, a fact quickly realized by detecting a large sulfur smell when first getting out of the car. Therefore it is important to take precautions and be ready to run... Once we approached the volcano we took photos of clerics headed to the Cross of Francisco de Bobadilla. From here we had a nice view of the valley and the lake of Masaya (after climbing some steps but it's worth it...). Yali Streber: If your idea of fun takes you to adrenaline rush and search for new sites, with some physical preparation can go mountain bike in the non discovered slopes of Masaya`s Volcano, where the landscape becomes a singular spectacle that you can not resist. Masaya, Nicaragua, Masaya Mortyzia: Here I enjoyed some of the best sunsets on my trip traveling through Central America. Despite the fact that there are many tourists who come here to surf, the people do not lose the local atmosphere that still exists in the streets, in the market, etc.. And at night there is a lot of rum and lots of partying in the beach bars... Yali Streber: Nicaragua can offers the most amazing destinations for extreme sports such as rappelling. From the Indian`s mountain in the incredible bay of San Juan del Sur you can risk and descend, with all the security of specialized equipment, into a natural wall of more than 70 meters high, feeling the adrenaline rushes through your body and the majestic scenery of the bay shelters you from above. Alfonso Maltez: This is a bay which is small but it has a special charm. Its coasts are long and the weather is nice. San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, San Juan del Sur 5 Beaches Majaual Beach 6 Beaches Playa El Coco 7 Lakes Apoyo Lagoon 8 Canyons Somoto Canyon malclown: The beach is right on the border of Majaual Timber Beach and San Lorenzo on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. Its beaches are immense and filled with limestone and little vegetation and mass tourism. It is also a spot loved by surfers and travelers that come to the town of San Juan del Sur, which they said was quite a sight. The truth is that these beaches are a delight for the mind and a litmus test for the body as waves surely know how to break here. The rocks in the distance are directing the waves coming in and playing with them and as swimmers, we are faced with the magnitude of the Pacific Ocean. The town of San Juan and its beaches is an absolute recommendation if you're traveling to Nicaragua. I am not sure if this should be done at the beginning or the end of the trip, but either way it will be a mistake not to visit. To reach the village: there are buses from Managua (and other cities, I guess) market, and from there you will be able to reach Rivas. From there, you will take San Juan del Sur, San Juan del Sur Ana Cabrera: This is one of the best places on Coco Beach. Here you have the beach to yourself, it is amazingly clean and watching the sunrise is beautiful. You may have the opportunity to see pelicans catching fishes and if you are lucky you will see the beautiful rainbow that bathes the beach its beautiful colors! I dare you to go to Nicaragua! Calle Playa El Coco 18 Kilometros Al Sur de San Anna (Diario Kiana): The Mirador Catarina, located near the town of Masaya, offers an unbeatable view of the lake Managua. I love this place becuause of the wonderful contrast of the blue valley and the two lakes it contains. Here one can have a good time admiring the mesmerizing beauty of nature... There are also bars for a drink (a tamarind zumito mmhhh... please...) and plenty of fun to be had listening to traditional instruments, or you can take donkey rides around the lake. There are many other ways to enjoy this beautiful place. Carretera Masaya Km 38, Managua, Nicaragua, Masaya Noradoa: Considered to be one of the most impressive geological landscapes in Nicaragua, the Rio Coco is about 5km long and metres wide. It runs through canyons with walls that reach between 120 and 150 meters high. The calm current is interrupted by rock formations that give rise to pools, where you can swim. In addition to appreciating its beauty, you can take a boat trip further in. For more entertainment, other activities available are doing the water course in a large floating tyre. In recent years, we have marked a route with viewpoints that can be toured by visitors, though the roads are safer. For active travelers, it is also possible to practice abseiling from some of the walls that reach up to 60 meters high. Carretera Somoto - Espino. Km 230, Somoto, Nicaragua, Somoto

What to see in Nicaragua Page 3 9 Cities Forest Coffee 10 Cathedrals Granada Cathedral 11 Museums 12 Markets Municipal Market francisco raul mairena lopez: Forest Coffee is in one of the most beautiful cities in Nicaragua and it's in pure Nicaragua with its unrivaled great weather all year round. If you want, you can go in shorts and T-shirt and not be cold or hot. The people here are the most welcoming and have wonderful hearts. At night the streets are safer in Nicaragua if you're with your partner. Don't be afraid of anything or anyone and I say this because I am Matagalpa in soul, heart and life! Noradoa: The Granade Cathedral can be found in Plaza de Colon, in the center of this beautiful colonial town in Nicaragua. UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site. The neoclassical style is easily recognized on the building's entrance. There are four chapels in the cathedral. The cathedral has been rebuilt several times since its construction in The building was completely destroyed in In the late 19th century, the construction of the new cathedral was halted due to a lack of funding. When new plans were drawn up its construction continued and ended in ELENA CRESPIN: The Carcel de la 21 Museum is a very nice museum that has a lot to offer Leon's population and tourists, such as counting the myths and legends of our ancestors and keep it because I think it is part of our culture. The only problem with this museum is that it doesn't receive any kind of support, which I think should be different in order to keep this place in better condition. It's important to the city of Leon, but it could be in better condition. carlos antonio parrales: I'm an amateur photographer but I dedicate quite a lot of time to it. My experience at this market was to watch people going about their daily business. I loved it because of the typical meals and the activity of the photographers of these photographs, they are great and original. Tomorrow I will send a PDF. Thanks Yali Streber: The Cathedral of Granada exhibits its colonial architecture, wowing the spectators with their carved domes protruding from the roof tiles. Granada is the first city established in the mainland after the discovery of our continent. Matagalpa Costado Este del Parque Central, Granada, Nicaragua, Granada León Diriamba, Diriamba 13 Beaches Las Maderas Beach (Nicaragua) The Guatuzos Wildlife Refuge 14 Dance of Masaya 15 Villages Esteli malclown: To the south-west of the country, San Juan is a fishing village that year after year is opening more to tourism. Depending on the time of year, it is an ideal place to get lost at the beach. The official beach becomes the beach of San Juan del Sur, enclosed between two cliffs that hide from the world. From the north to the south, though, there are ranges of opportunities and some are much less crowded. Some are defended by surfers who travel from around the world looking for this side of the Pacific, and others are perfect for disappearing from the world and relaxing. Timber Beach, north of San Juan del Sur along the coast, is one of them. Perhaps not as well known, but, isn't that preferable? The rock ledges force you to leave the beach jumping from the rocks reaching the limestone plate to the beach and crumbling into sand. Giving the feeling of a violent nature magnitude under the waters. And yet it is a perfect beach for swimming because it is large enough to occur together sea San Juan del Sur, San Juan del Sur Ninoska Garcia Paz: Dear friends of Mi Nube: Recently, I visited the Wildlife Refuge in Guatuzos in the south west of the great lake of Nicaragua. The experience was delightful. We toured the Papaturro River channels and saw many birds, turtles, alligators, and monkeys. Once we arrived at the interpretation centre, a tour guide led us through the trails and on a tour of the puento pendant to appreciate the wetlands' natural fauna, which is a RAMSAR site. We visited the hatchery where earth lovers support the reproduction of river turtles and alligators. Anyway, it was an event, it poured rain and we all got wet. It's worth visiting the Guatuzos. If you are visiting Nicaragua, stop and visit this paradise Solentiname, Los Guatuzos Ivania Ruiz: The National Dance, our folklore, the marimba, is very particular Call Look After the Flowers, this is where all the idiosyncrasies that may represent in part my beautiful country, Nicaragua, looked at from a distance. The Black Ball (men only ), the dance of White (Women Only), begins in September and ends in late November, these are the longest festivals taking place nationally. Masaya, Masaya Noradoa: Interesting town in northern Nicaragua, which can perfectly serve as a base to see the wonders of the area as it's well connected by road. As for tourism, the focus is on the central square with its beautiful cathedral, almost immaculately white. In the vicinity you can visit the Somoto Canyon, where you can take a bath, Matagalpa, a beautiful city or Tisey park. Estelí, Estelí

What to see in Nicaragua Page 4 16 Of Touristic Interest Pavona to Tortuguero Tour Alberto Gutierrez, Sculptor and Farmer 17 Volcanoes Concepción (volcano) 18 Lakes Asososca Lagoon, León Héctor In Pavona, you should take the boat to Tortuguero because it is the only way to reach the village. To reach Pavona from Cariari San Jose, you take a bus. Normally you get on the boat at 13:30, and it usually waits for the bus as this comprises 90% of the passengers. The journey takes about an hour and you will see some wonderful animals, especially birds and crocodiles if you are lucky. You will certainly enjoy this water ride in the jungle. You can take a return trip on the boat later. These paths are maily full of locals and the occasional backpacker. Noradoa: Road Tisey reserve, a few kilometers from Esteli, we found the farm of Don Alberto Gutiérrez and his brother. He is a XXI century hermit that spent most of his life in agriculture and sculpting. Self-taught, he transformed the rocks of his farm into a stunning art gallery. It is a pleasure to talk with him while displaying all his works. He does not charge any fees, but it is advisable to tip. Noradoa: Located on the island of Ometepe, near the town of Moyogalpa, is the most perfect volcanic cone of Nicaragua. Although the fog covered a part of it, The volcano was still incredibly impressive. It's visible from the entire island. It's active so you might not go any furher than half way up, but it's worth it if it's a clear day. You have to hire a guide but it's easy to get one in the village (15 euros). The climb is not easy so I don't recommend it to people who are unfit. josseline: Asososca Lagoon Leon, Nicaragua is my favorite area because I can relax swimming in its warm waters, while seeing some spectacular scenery along with the sound of birds and branches blowing in the wind. Also, I can challenge myself to go up one of the volcanoes surrounding the area, one of them is active and one dormant. El Tortugero Estelí Isla de Ometepe, Nicaragua, Moyogalpa Laguna Asososca, Nicaragua, La Paz Centro Viewpoints Devil Viewpoint 19 Islands Las Isletas 20 Villages Tortuguero Village 21 Nature Reserves Green Pool Nature Reserve Noradoa: From Devil Viewpoint, which is a small hill, just over 10 miles south of Moyogalpa, you have a breathtaking view of the island of Ometepe, especially its two volcanoes, Concepcion and Maderas and Lake Nicaragua. It's awesome. You can get there by bus from Moyogalpa, the capital of the island (buses stop there whenever you want). Renting a bike or scooter to get there would be a bad idea, trust me. If you visit it, I also recommend losing yourself in the Charco Verde nature reserve, which is right next door. Noradoa: Located on Lake Nicaragua, opposite the town of Granada, there are 365 islets, which were created after an eruption of the volcano Mombacho. For about $15 you can take a boat (fitting 8 people) from the port of Granada. The journey normally takes just under 1 hour and it often visits the island where Fort San Pablo is located (possible to stop to view it) and the islet with a colony of monkeys. Héctor If you don't wish to be a prisoner of the luxury Lodges tour packages in Tortuguero, then you must stay in the village. I saw few Spanish in the village and those in the resorts almost all were sorry, because hotel is lovely but they could not leave. They could only leave for short times and this was based on the availability of the boat from the hotel to town. The boat trips were few and strictly scheduled. The village has no luxury lodges but they are pretty good and give you the freedom to move and contact the friendly locals, who incidentally, have created the webpage that I posted. The village has a few small houses and streets, with next the beach right next to it. Noradoa: It is located just over 10 km from Moyogalpa (capital of the island of Ometepe), following the road south. In the lower area of the reserve we can see a lagoon surrounded by mangroves and lush vegetation with a fruit tree. The walking tour around the reserve is short, taking less than 1 hour. I did it with a guide (and recommended it) but you can do it without if you want. The route is well marked, and you can see a monkey, but especially birds, they're everywhere. You can also explore the lagoon by kayak or take a tour on horseback. If you're staying within the reserve, Hotel Charco Verde is located inside, in front of a small beach. 6 What to see in Nicaragua Page 5 22 Beaches Madera Beach 23 Beaches Poneloya Beach 24 Rainforest La Flor Wildlife Refuge 25 Villages El Castillo Yamil Rodríguez: I'm walking on the gray sand of Playa Madera.. I do not know how my Chevrolet Spark managed to cross that road.. There is a beautiful beach, a very secluded beach, not a soul to be seen.. I walked over to the rocks where the water crashed hard on the shore and I wanted to enjoy its breeze.. I walked along the sand, I walked to the sea.. My body started to turn brown like a sausage on a barbecue, with all the flavors of sea salt and the last rays of sun.. It was truly heavenly, it gave me time to breathe and create space in my mind.. It filled me with great peace.. It was my therapy.. It brought me back to life.. I would spend all day lying on the sand or on the rocks.. Just communicating with the whales and shipwrecks.. Playa Maderas, San Juan del Sur Beth Coffman: Poneloya, Nicaragua it is the beach the people love! Yes it is a dangerous water but be sensible and sober and you won't get hurt! Lovely restaurants in Las Penintas and looking forward to exploring restaurants along the lagoon area...te Amo Poneloya! malclown: Poneloya Beach is one of everyone's favorite beaches in Leon, especially at Holy Week and during Gritería (The Feast of the Virgin). Beautiful Poneloya beach has the pleasure of being found just 20 kilometers away from León. I frequently went there to eat fish with garlic and enjoy a good flower cane rum. Bathed in the Pacific, is considered a dangerous beach if unknown, due to strong currents and rocks in the area nesting sea bath, separating as a natural border beach we talked with the Penitas; but that's not the surfers auyenta this beach goers. The sunset is a spectacular and unique natural color: the sun, in minutes, sinking under León, León Ninoska Garcia Paz: 12 months ago I went to San Juan del Sur and I discovered that it is a wonderful place. Today I'll talk about the tours on offer to the Wildlife Refuge Flower that is located just 20 kilometers away from the city of San Juan del Sur. Here you can see sea turtles lay their eggs from the months of July to April. It is an amazing spectacle that should not be missed. The other day I was with my friends and wwe saw one arrival and one thousand turtles. It's a shame that people hunt for their eggs for food and do not think that we must protect this beautiful marine species Carretera a Ostional, San Juan del Sur malclown: From Lake Nicaragua to the Atlantic runs the winding San Juan river; it's like a canal into the country's interior which impressed Louis Napoleon Bonaparte, who referred to this area as the "Constantinople of the New World". It's so well located strategically that a Spanish fort was created in order to stop pirate raids. This fort was of great interest and the scene of bloody battles known as El Castilo. Like the place named after it. What this place lacks, they make up for in kindness. You will not need anything else, not streets or roads (of course, there are issues of accommodation so you should be prepared). The whole town is geared toward the river, which is the center of life in this region which is often flooded. There's no better place to go to feel the benefits of this place. The colorful houses, the coexistence between people and virgin forest and the ruins of a past that was ruled by poor prospects due to a simple mapping issue. The darker picture shows some very nice El Castillo, El Castillo Waterfalls Salto 26 Museums Museum of Myths and Legends 27 Volcanoes Maderas Volcano 28 Colegio Federico García Lorca Pedro Baca: El Salto "El Rosario" is the name of a waterfall about 100 meters high, in the community of El Rosario Murra Municipality in the department of Nueva Segovia in Nicaragua. It is an excellent place for mountain tourism. The location is excellent, about 100 kilometers from the provincial capital city of Ocotal, and it can be easily reached with a four wheel drive. amy vanegas: It's interesting to learn about your village, which is obviously rich in culture and tradition. For those who appreciate this concept, this will prove to be a very good experience. Unlike other uneducated people, like Hilary Baldizon, who couldn't even understand that the museum is called "LEGENDS AND TRADITIONS," not "TERROR", I invite you to learn more about the town and to disregard worthless comments! You'll have a great time. Kisses!! Noradoa: Situated in the south of the island of Ometepe, formed by the volcano Concepción, the silhouette of this mystical island is in Lake Nicaragua. I didn't get to upload the picture because the photos were taken from the Charco Verde nature reserve and its surrounding area, but when we got to the top we were in for a treat. There was a beautiful lagoon. There are several trails to climb at the Maderas volcano. I recommend the Finca Magdalena (you should bring a guide). You can also go around the volcano, being a rural area with farming villages. If you look, you can see the pre-columbian history in several petroglyphs. Alejandro de León: Nicaragua began to collaborate with Darian Foundation funding to educate 5 children in the Federico Garcia Lorca school, located in the town of Ciudad Dario, department Matagalpa. The 2011 school year welcomed 245 children living at risk and extreme poverty. Of these, 15 have scholarships, five of which are provided by Group Three students are in the second primary grade and two are in first grade. For the quarterly sum of $ 90 it covers the cost of education, food, uniforms and medicines for each beneficiary. 29 Museums Ancient Footprints of Acahualinca Comunidad, Murra Alfredo: The museum was located in the same place where the footprints were found in Acahualinca. These were discovered in the year1874. In 1969 the most important discovery was made: the remains of plants that were embedded in volcanic material. This led to the conclusion that the footprints were 6000 years old and pertenececientes about 15 people and some animals like deer and raccoons Barrio de San Sebastián, León Isla de Ometepe, Nicaragua, Moyogalpa Ciudad Darío, Nicaragua, Ciudad Darío Iglesia Santa Ana 4 calles al Oeste y 1 calle al Norte

The result was the route of the Gods: In the footsteps of Walpatara. This is a beautiful rural region, with live indigenous cultures and a lovely mixed people with lots to offer. I hope one day you will get to visit it. From Managua you can take a flight to Puerto Cabezas Bilwi and contact any of the travel companies or the Tourism Institute. paulinette: Omotepe Island, in Nicaragua, is at the heart of the huge Lake Nigaragua. The lake is the biggest in Latin America after Lake Titicaca, and one of the 10 biggest in the world! Omotepe is a big island. There are beaches to swim, but the waters of the lake are usually hectic, and windy, so if you want to swim it is better go to the Pacific coast. The island, has 2 volcanoes, Maderas and Concepción, which is still active. With a boat from the shore of the lake and the city of Granada, to reach the village of Moyogalpa, from where you can find a bus that goes around the island and leaves you in the village where you want to stay. If you have no idea where you want to go, you can ask the driver. There are also farms and a hotel with food, rooms with mosquito net and not much else. The prices are great. 2 or 3 euros per person per night, food from 1 euro, and charge to climb the volcanoes. Yago Zara: This is a lovely nature reserve, with Carey turtles nesting, and eight species of turtles. It is a beautiful setting, where you can enjoy a relaxing holiday, as well as go on excursions to unusual and precious enclaves of Nicaragua. Here we find, whales, dolphins, crocodiles, turtles, and a variety of diverse native fauna. For anyone who is interested in visiting Nicaragua, put yourself in touch with me to find out about lodging and excursions. Nicaragua is a beautiful country. It is filled with untouched and unusual places, and above all it is a place to come and discover paradise, furthermore, it is very economical. If you want to come to Nicaragua, be sure to contact me, my is yagozara@hotmail.com. You can stay at my house and go on trips and excursions by car and by boat, at very reasonable prices and it will be very interesting. Mjmartínez: When I went to Costa Rica, I made a trip to Granada. Nicaragua is very colonial and we travelled its streets in a horse and carriage. We ate at a Hotel called Alhambra (how nice, right?), and bought some artisan crafts. The only downside is that the children would not stop begging. It was a shame, but if you gave to one, you had to give to them all, so I just bought a hand-painted ceramic bird who whistled from one. Bilwi, Puerto Cabezas Granada Padre Ramos, Chinandega Granada 34 Museums National Palace of Culture 35 Forests Peñas Blancas 36 Beaches Playa Guasacate, Popoyo, Nicaragua 37 Of Touristic Interest La Esperanza Granada scarleth: Ever since I was at school wanted to go here, and I always wondered when I would get the chance to visit. I always passed my grandfather's truck and watched and I imagined that there were many nice things in my country. Until at one time I decided to start music lessons. I called many places but the prices were high, I was sad, and mom asked me what was wrong and I told her that I could not learn to play music. She asked if I wanted to go to the National Palace of culture and I woke up with joy and said yes! But i didn t understand how they taught there? It was super cheap to learn to play and since then it has been my favorite place but that is inspiration for me, to do what I love, activate my creativity, always seeing expositions, monuments, paintings, every Saturday I go to see the bands play in the blue room of the palace, I also enjoy the art of the artisans. Roger Gonzalez: It has been a very enriching experience having documented throughout my career as a photographer, all my experiences visiting the most beautiful places to go and more difficult to go to in my country! Yali Streber: Peñas Blancas Massif in the central area of the Bosawas`s Biosphere Reserve offers a unique contact with nature, where evolution reunited with the primitive. The Peñas Blancas Massif is definitely the best place to relax and recharge your energies. Ninoska Garcia Paz: The other day I went with my friends Maria Fabiola, Cameron and Richard to explore Riva's beaches and when we got to Tola we found a special beach called Guasacate. This beach is right near Popoyo beach, which is where I surf. The experts say it has the most daring and perfect waves in the Pacific Ocean. It's kind of difficult to get ther, it's almost 2 hours of traveling on a dirt road, but it's worth the trip because it's a virgin beach, and it's not crowded at all. Cheers. Grupo 2013: Located in Granada, Nicaragua, La Esperanza Granada is a volunteer group that focuses on the education of children. The group was started in 2002 in a small neighborhood on the outskirts of Granada, and it now helps more than 2000 children in impoverished neighborhoods. The volunteers of La Esperanza Granada go to rural schools to help teachers tutor young children, develop sports programs, introduce children to computer management, and teach English as well as help stimulate their interest in learning. Volunteers come from all over the world and work for varying periods of time. No fees are charged for these programs and fundraising is completely voluntary. We try to work in a non-invasive way while working directly with children and local schools, teachers and parents to identify the educational needs of the area Managua, Nicaragua, Managua Iglesia la merced, barrio LaReynaga, Managua Guasacate, Popoyo Granada, Nicaragua, Granada

What to see in Nicaragua Page 7 38 Markets Masaya Market malclown: Catching the interlocal bus (9-seater van where more than 20 people travel) from Managua towards Granada, we found Masaya, known for its craft markets and called the city of flowers (they dedicate themselves to selling, plus crafts, flower). You need to lose yourself in the market closest to the express bus terminal, because it's not dedicated to tourism and the locals do their shopping there. There is another market, more touristy and therefore more expensive. It is in an old building renovated colonial building with stalls of masks, necklaces and jewelry made from seeds, typical Nicaraguan clothes, etc. It is worth going to see the stage where groups like Los Mejia Godoy or Cardinal Brothers perform, folk and revolutionary songs copyright. Masaya is known as the birthplace of folk music and all new musical contributions of the country come from here... so don't find it odd that everyone is dancing in Masaya and that the music is everywhere. 39 Of Touristic Interest Cascadas del Río Santa Emilia Franklin Rodríguez Stulzer: There's a group of waterfalls not far from the town of Matagalpa that are ideal for a refreshing swim or a nice outdoor picnic. The surrounding mountains are actually home to lots of waterfalls which you can reach either by car or by catching a bus in the city. The three main waterfalls are El Salto de Santa Emilia, El Salto del Escondido, and La Flor. In winter, they're full of water and the sight is pretty incredible. The main waterfall is El Salto de Santa Emilia (it's named after a nearby town) and costs about $2.00 to visit. Salto del Escondido is located a little further away and costs $1.00 to visit. La Flor is on the same path as Salto del Escondido but it's a completely wild waterfall so it's free to visit. It's located about one kilometer down the trail so it's a great spot if you like hiking. So whether you're a hiker or just a nature lovers, these waterfalls don't disappoint. Mercado Viejo Building, Masaya, Nicaragua, Masaya Matagalpa, Matagalpa 40 Museums San Ramon julio cesar Rios Rivera: My stay in Nicaragua was quite long, I went to many places in this very beautiful country, with beautiful colonial cities locked in great histories. Panama is quite a modern city with a beautiful infrastructure with marvelous coastal areas to visit. My city has known the love of this country full of beautiful people and extraordinary wild flowers and animals. Villages Sandino Port San Ramón malclown: The town of Puerto Sandino with its magnificent beaches, was called Puerto Somoza before the revolution. After the revolution the town had an influx of immigrants from different parts of the Caribbean. Today Creole can be heard as well as Miskito (the indigenous language, which is very difficult to understand). The beach is bathed by a calm sea. Swim (or, at low tide, walk) to the small island of black sand from which you have a breathtaking view of the beach. Needless to say, the food is delicious, the seafood very fresh and rum is drunk everywhere. 9 Where to eat in Nicaragua Page 8 Restaurants Español Restaurant 1 Restaurants Queen Lobster Restaurant Restaurants Yusvar Restaurants Casa Ulrich Restaurant Regian Lanzas: You can eat quite well in this beautiful place, but above all, you can watch a divine sunset on the seashore. The service is good and the food is delicious. It has a relaxing atmosphere. It offers a variety of seafood and meats, a variety of both Spanish and Nicaraguan wine, a divine Sangria, and the price is the best for eating well. It's very accessible. So visit, it's very good! MIGUEL ROMERO : A gastronomic fine dining experience, Caribbean coast prepared based on seafood and coconut milk coconut gallopinto accompanied with exquisite shrimp, fish, crab, lobster, chicken wings, beef, plantains and cabbage salad. Enough for two people. Good waiters, extraordinary view over the lagoon, Freshness of the place is great because of its position in the entrance channel of the lagoon. alba reyes: 'Hey friends' is a place where you can drink a natural jugazos, that are really delicious, it has a variety of fruits that are fresh, not don't have any additives, preservatives or colorings. They serve very tasty waffles with a homemade taste that will make you go back. If you come by Estelí, look for Yusvar, they say that it's a very welcoming place. The nice thing is that it is always close to Central Park. It's super. Fred ulrich Kain: I am an international Chef, who graduated in Europe in International Hospitality and tourism in the 70s, with 30 years experience in different parts of the world to winning one of the 100 best restaurants in Miami, Florida. Originally from Laguna de Perlas Nicaragua, I am running Ulrich House Hotel and Restaurant with international and local food, giving the best of me in this new adventure. Jose Ortiz: Great place to cme with friends! You'll taste a great variety of natural juices, including yogurts, all at a low price...highly recommended! J. Every Sunday, you can hear live music from 1pm - 6pm with better promotions of San Juan del Sur. It features Creole cuisine, Mediterranean, and Latin American international food. It is located in the center of the Bay of San Juan del Sur. We encourage our customers to try our specialty in seafood and meat, or in a candlelit table to sea. Its mouthwatering dishes include the most Tasty seafood with a mix of authentic Mediterranean flavors. The cocktails are from the maritime and are laden with natural flavors. It is situated just across the bay from San Juan del Sur. The Bay of San Juan del Sur is a beautiful horseshoe shaped beach. The town of San Juan del Sur is a small fishing harbor with a population of just 8000 inhabitants. During Easter there were lots of processions, but there was also a lot of youth activity. The place is beautiful Calle Paseo del Rey Zona centro, San Juan del Sur 3 Restaurants Tip Top Bluefields Ninoska Garcia Paz: Nearly everyone in Nicaragua knows Pollos Tip Top. It's Nicaraguan style fried chicken. However, in Bluefields tip top fried chicken tastes different, I think it's altered for the taste of the Caribbean, the flavor is stronger. The people who work there are super friendly, unfortunately not many people work there so at the end of the day the girls who work there are tired. I recommend eating there although it's not traditional in Bluefields St. Marks Cathedral, Bluefields carlos antonio parrales: Bohio Mi Molino Restaurant is a typical restaurant even though they have a la carte dishes on their menu. You can enjoy natural drinks or a cold beer. This restaurant has excellent service without preferential treatment to some guests, which, believe it or not, does happen in other restaurants in this area. It's located in the Cradle of the Cacique Diriamba Diriangén and is home also what I call my people Relics such as the Tower DIRIAMBA WATCH, THE RUINS OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE OF DIRIAMBA AND THE BASILICA OF SAN SEBASTIAN. 10 Where to stay in Nicaragua Page 9 1 Hotels Finca Magdalena hotel guanche: On the boat that takes us to Omotepe, to the place we fall more in love with every time. To cross the island and reach Finca Magdalena, the hotel that we chose is at a distance of... 3 hours on the bus! The island is 30 km long! You do not feel like you're on an island, but rather the bottom of a tropical forest, which could be the Mato Grosso in Brazil, that is, the end of the world. An island in the middle of a lake in the middle of Nicaragua, in the middle of Central America, between two gigantic oceans, we are in the middle of nowhere. It was dark when we arrived, after a good hike with backpacks in the mud. The next day, after a night full of mosquitoes, we climb the volcano, whose slopes form the island. Finca Magdalena is the biggest city in Madera and is 1 km away. The night costs $ 2 in a bedroom 1.50 for camping or to put up your hammock. You will definitely need insect repellent! It's a nice place, where you can eat well, same on each side, rice and beans. Just before arriving, you find the Rivas Hotels Bahia del Sol Villas & Condominiums hotel Bahia Del Sol Villas & Condominiums: This hotel offers the best and lowest prices in the area of San Juan Del Sur. It offers villas with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. They are spacious and comfortable, and they offer a view over the bay of San Juan Del Sur, overlooking the village and the nearby mountains. The check in and check out times are flexible depending on the hotel availability, the service is very good De La Alcaldia De San Juan Del Sur 2.2 kms al no Hotels Hamacas, San Jorge Rivas. Hotel Hotel Hamacas : Welcome to Hotel Hammocks. We do everything that we can to ensure that guests have a wonderful stay on the beautiful coast of the paradise island of Ometepe. The hotel has spacious rooms that will provide the comforts of a home away from home. Hammocks Hotel is surrounded by a beautiful courtyard with tropical plants and runners with hammocks for relaxing and feeling the cool breeze coming from the lake. Hammocks Hotel is located a few meters from the Muelle de San Jorge. We are 35 miles from San Juan del Sur, 30 miles from the beaches of Tola and 40 kilometers from the border with Costa Rica (Peñas Blancas). Hammocks Hotel offers a cozy and quiet environment with a personalized service. We have comfortable rooms in a natural environment. We offer wireless internet, 24 hour security and parking Del Muelle de San Jorge 100 metros 2 Hotels Posada Doña Juanita Ninoska Garcia Paz: I was recently in San Carlos, Nicaragua for the umpteenth time, but this time I was invited to stay at the Posada de Doña Juanita, which is owned by Henry Sandino Flores and his wife, Merceditas Balladares. It has four well-equipped rooms with private baths, cable TV, Internet, and A/C. You can stay there for a good price, and an excellent breakfast included in the rate. According to its owner, Dona Juanita's Inn was given its name in honor of the owner's mother, who had an altruistic heart and was always giving peasants a place to stay San Carlos,, San Carlos 3 Hotels Sabalos Hotel 4 Hotels Matagalpa Nicaragua Hotel Selva Negra 5 Hotels Hotel Dario Jorge Nicaragua: Sabalos Hotel is a great base to explore the rivers and wildlife of the area. You can go fishing, sailing on the river and explore the nearby mountains. This area of Nicaragua, located in the south near the border with Costa Rica, is surprising as the entire landscape of the area is beautiful - the cottages of this hotel look like they are out of a film. You have to come and visit to see how beautiful it is. I recommend that you hire a guide to take you to the remotest and most beautiful places. The food is outstanding and very characteristic of the area, as is the cleanliness and friendliness of the people. You can swim in the clear waters of Rio San Juan. If you are looking for an adventure without boundaries, Nicaragua awaits you. fanny mejia: The Matagalpa Nicaragua Hotel Selva Negra is a fun place to be in a place where you can enjoy the beauty of your land with beings you want and if you are foreigner, solidarity and brotherhood in this village will leave you surprised. So if you come to Nicaragua don't you dare leave without getting a closer look at the black forest. minube: The Dario Hotel is located in the city of Granada, where it enjoys an excellent location just a few minutes from the city's main attractions and points of interest. Once here, you can enjoy the special colonial atmosphere that the hotel retains, with architecture typical of the 19th century. Its rooms are intimate and cozy.
