2 PHASE III BEST MEXICAN COMPANIES IN 2014 MID-SIZED CORPORATIONS THAT LEAVE A trace. 60 companies stood out as The Best Mexican Companies in the 2014 edition: 19 of these are granted this acknowledgement for the first time, while 41 earn it again. On October 27th, at 14:00 hours, after an intensive nomination, documentation and selection process, The Best Mexican Companies in 2014 announces the 60 national companies acknowledged, as from today as real entrepreneurial examples. The Best Mexican Companies is not a ranking, and is not granted to a specific personality; it distinguishes companies for high performance financial outcomes and business management, comparable at international level. This acknowledgement is granted by Banamex, Deloitte and the Tecnológico de Monterrey since 2010 to medium-sized companies (those with annual revenues between $100 million and $5 thousand 500 million pesos), private and with Mexican capital, aimed at driving this important sector of the national economy, which is responsible for 52% of the GNP and generates 72% of the country s employment. The initiative of The Best Mexican Companies undergoes three thorough and intense phases (Registry, Documentation/Evaluation and Selection) during approximately 8 months. It is worth mentioning that the participation of companies is free of charge. During this process, companies go from one stage to another, submitting and supporting its success histories; during a final stage, the most outstanding companies in terms of practices and economic outcomes are selected. Fifth edition. In its fifth edition, more than 300 companies from 29 states of the Mexican Republic responded, eager to expose their business practices and, during the process, discover if they are part of the mid-sized companies that leave a track. Resulting from Phase I (Registry) which evaluates if registered companies fulfill the criteria required for participation, 171 eligible companies were identified. During Phase II (Documentation/Evaluation), 145 companies continued on the way of exploring their entrepreneurial management accompanied by a team of coaches, integrated by specialists of Banamex, Deloitte and the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Designated coaches advised the managing body of companies, regarding the documentation and submission of evidence in accordance with the evaluation model of the initiative. Afterwards, 109 business management cases underwent an in-depth analysis carried out by a Technical Committee of the initiative. Evaluation was conducted regarding both financial terms, and 5 basic foundations of Deloitte s value map: revenue growth, operational margin, asset management efficiency, management of internal strengths and leadership. Selection of the Best Mexican Companies in 2014 Lastly, on Phase III (Selection) the most outstanding companies that demonstrated competitiveness at national and international level were selected. The selection of companies was validated by a group of MEM Advisors integrated by directors
