4 PRE-TOUR INFORMATION PRE-TOUR INFORMATION ARRIVAL INFORMATION All international flights arrive at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv It is highly recommended arriving the day before the start day of the trip. If no flights are found the day before, arrival time should be no later than AM Due to a tight schedule, if arriving past AM, you will have to arrive to the scheduled starting point independently When arriving at Ben Gurion Airport, the best way to get to Tel Aviv is by Taxi. Please head to the main dispatcher to get a suitable cab to fit your suitcase and bicycle luggage. All taxis are compatible to carry a full size bicycle bag or box. Here are a few recommendations for your time in the city before and after the tour: Beaches - One of the greatest things about Tel Aviv is its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea. From May to September, Tel Aviv's beaches attract thousands of bathers from Israel and abroad. Old Jaffa - Walk through the picturesque neighborhood and absorb its unique charm. Old Jaffa, with the Old Port, the markets, restaurants and the unique atmosphere, is a real delight. Some claim that Jaffa could still do with some renovation, but its charm prevails. Enjoy the flea market, museums, galleries and beautiful old port in Jaffa. Tel Aviv Nightlife - Explore Tel Aviv's famous and infamous Nightlife spots. The nightlife scene in Tel Aviv is famous across the globe. Neve Tzedek Visit the museums, shops and restaurants in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Tel Aviv. 7 TOUR ITINERARY TOUR ITINERARY DAY 1 MEETING AND PREPARATIONS 13:00 pick up start time from all hotels. Please provide us with information about where you're staying in advance and be in the lobby from until a Genesis Cycling crew member will pick you up. 14:00 pick up at Ben Gurion Airport for all travelers arriving on the first day of the trip. After collecting everyone, we will head over to our hotel for the night and we'll begin our trip the following day. During dinner, the bikes will be professionally assembled by a Genesis Cycling mechanic, and an introduction with the Genesis Cycling tour guides, plus a rundown of the upcoming week will be made. 8 TOUR ITINERARY DAY 2 UPPER GALILEE TO THE SEA OF GALILEE Starting from the hotel, we will quickly descend down into the Monfort Valley, which is named after the well preserved, Monfort Castle. The castle was built during the middle ages by the Crusaders during their time in Israel. The meaning of the name originates from the French interpretation as "the strong mountain". Exiting the valley, we will begin a short steep climb, which will fill our legs with morning pain and glory, and prepare us for more to come. Finishing the climb at the Druze village of Horfeish, we will enjoy some sweet Druze candy, which will fill our muscles with most welcome glycogen. We will then begin our long ascent to the kibbutz "Sasa", which used to be the highest kibbutz in Israel till the six day war. It sits at the bottom of mount Meron, formerly the highest mountain in Israel, prior to From Sasa we will be traveling on a beautiful country road, covered in vineyards and apple trees on each side. We will stop at an Israeli Arab village called Jesh. The Hebrew name of the village was Gosh Halav, and used for the Jewish rebels, during the Roman Ampire Israeli occupation, as a central strategic gathering point. The journey will then lead us in the municipal area of the city of Safed, via one of Israel's special pomegranate vineyards, where you will taste and experience the rich flavor and exotic characteristics of the bold red fruit. Passing right near Safed, we will circle it using one of the most beautiful forest roads Israel has to offer, a beautiful descent overlooking the vast Hula Valley. At the bottom we will stop for some refreshments and we'll use the vans that will take us to the observed mountains of the Golan on the opposite side of the Hula Valley. From the top we will begin our long descent to the magnificent Sea of Galilee. Arriving at the end point of our ride, on the coast of Kfar Nachom, which is said to have been one of Jesus Christs most adored location in the Galilee, we will switch to the second portion of traveling for the day, which will be in the form of a beautiful, relaxing cruise along the calm water of the Sea of Galilee, arriving at the city of Tiberias before evening. 9 TOUR ITINERARY DAY 3 THE GOLAN HEIGHTS Meeting at the hotel lobby, we will take a short van ride to our starting point at the Jordan River National Park. Our ride will start with a short warm-up which will prepare our legs to a long day on the bike filled with many uphill sections at the beginning of the stage, but ending with a long, highly rewarding descent back to the Sea of Galilee. Beginning the ride via the beautiful climb to agricultural village of Kidmat Zvi, where we can enjoy some wonderful wine tasting. After some refreshments we will continue gaining altitude all the way to Mt. Bental. Mt. Bental is overlooking the valley in which one of the most glorious tank battles in history took place during the Yom Kippur War of Mount Bental is a key strategic point for Israel due to its advantageous observation point. Stopping at the top to enjoy the view and catch our breath, we will drop down and begin our gradual descent back to the Sea of Galilee. On the way we will pass through many historical battle grounds where many were lost for the sake of Israel. Passing next to the modern wind turbines of the Kibbutz Aloney HaBashan, and mixing it up with ancient biblical ruins and not so ancient Syrian remaining, the Golan Tour is a live tour through the pages of history. On the southern tip of the Golan Mountains, we will stop to enjoy the mesmerizing views of the glorious, picturesque Sea of Galilee. From the top you will be able to get a glimpse through the eyes of famous artist who tried to capture the essence of this mythical place. 10 TOUR ITINERARY DAY 4 TIBERIUS TO GILBOA MOUNTAIN Starting from the higher parts of the city Tiberius, over viewing the shores of the Sea of Galilee and Descending down into the Jordan Valley, we will pass through the Baptize site "Yardenit". Also, our ride will cross through the town of Kinneret. This small village right on the coast is one of the first settlements of modern Israel. Riding further into the Jordan Valley, we will enjoy some small hills along the route which will provide a perfect warm-up before reaching the climb of the day. The base of the climb will be at the ancient city of Beit She'an, which dates back to the Egyptian Period, and is one of the historically rich destinations in the Middle East. Beit She'an has been the gatekeeper for centuries in the northern borders of Israel, as it is situated at the gateway of the Jezreel Valley and the Jordan Valley, basically separating the interior from the coast and Jerusalem from the Galilee. After learning the city's role in history, we will begin our ride to the top of Mount Gilboa, which borders the southern part of the Jezreel Valley. This 7k climb is a feast for the eyes and a furnace for the legs simultaneously. The breathtaking views over the Jezreel Valley cultivating grounds, the city of Beit She'an and of course the neighboring country of Jordan, is an experience that can only be greatly valued from the saddle of the bike. At the top of the climb we will reach the end point for the day's ride, and will enjoy a refreshing meal overlooking the marvelous sights of the ancient valleys below. 11 TOUR ITINERARY DAY 5 REST DAY - TOURING JERUSALEM Jerusalem - One of the greatest cities in the world. Its infamous rich history dates back over 3000 years ago when the first cornerstone was placed. The city is a place that surprises you every time you come to it. Its secrets are still hidden away in its walls, waiting for men to encode them. Jewish history is engraved in the walls of the old temple, Via Dolorosa and the Christian quarter are filled with Christian creation, and Muslim symbols make the city rich with stars and beauty. Truly a place for everyone. When arriving in Jerusalem we will enjoy a day filled with its history and enchanting life and culture. You will experience the city like never before, if this is your 1st or 10th time in it. A professional tour guide will lead us through its packed streets and narrow markets, while running us through some of its most enchanting bits of historical importance. 12 TOUR ITINERARY DAY 6 JERUSALEM TO DEAD SEA Leaving the city of Jerusalem from its eastern borders must accompany a stop at Har Hazofim, to receive the same view travelers from the north received when visited the meaningful, inspiring walls. This scenic view point seats at 826m above sea level, approximately 100m above the city itself, provides the most detailed look over the city from afar. After inhaling the views and storing them in a safe place, we will begin our 1240m drop in elevation to the lowest place of the journey, and also the lowest place on earth, the famous Dead Sea. Our decent will hit the northern coast of the Sea, which will be the opening point of our beautiful coastal ride along one of the world s greatest jewels. There is no better way of seeing the Dead Sea than on the saddle of a bike. Its deep blue color along with bright white, salt made shores provides breathtaking sights that will enrich all your senses. Traveling south, we will pass through the heroic, historical Masada, the great fortress that holds the symbolic flame of the few versus many, and the unwillingness to fall without a fight. Along the route, we will enjoy a mostly flat ride, which will deliver us with a gentle touch to our hotel, apart from one 3k climb along the coast which will remind us all that we are still using our legs for propulsion. We will then continue along the coast until we reach our hotel at the touristic resort of the Dead Sea, where you will be able to relax your bodies in the therapeutic marvels of the magical water and soil of the Dead Sea. 13 TOUR ITINERARY CONCLUSION OF THE TOUR The tour ends at the Dead Sea During the morning we will enjoy visit the national park of Masada At midday we will head back north to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport is the final destination. Farewell will be at Ben Gurion Airport where you will be sent off home with memories for a lifetime. Travelers wishing to attend a different location other than Ben Gurion Airport or a hotel in Tel Aviv, are responsible for personal transport from their final destination to Ben Gurion Airport

A professional video man who will accompany the group and will produce a tour video for you to share on Facebook and other social networks. Daily Service price: xxx USD Massage Therapy Relax, recover and enjoy a professional massage after a day in the saddle. This is a wonderful way of rejuvenating the body, getting it ready for the next day's challenge. In most of the hotels we will be staying at, this service is available at the spa services of the hotel. Prices vary according to each hotel as it is recommended to let us know where and when do you wish to order this service so we will make sure the availability at the hotel. Where this service is not available at the hotel, we offer our own masseur to arrive at the hotel to treat your aching muscles. 17 CLIMATE INFORMATION CLIMATE INFORMATION Generally speaking, the weather in most of Israel is not extreme at any standard, so that the Israeli winter is at best what some would call "autumn". As for the Israeli summer, well - that's a different story... Summer in Israel is HOT and in most of the country it is humid as well. December January February: Winter General Weather description: This is what we call winter. That means temperatures of between 5-18 Degrees centigrade in Tel Aviv which are 41 to 65 Degrees Fahrenheit. It may get colder around the Jerusalem and Golan Heights mountains to a level of 0 (34 Degrees Fahrenheit) Degrees centigrade at night. What to wear: a good fleece jacket will do the job. Those of you who are always cold would want to bring a warm coat. For cycling, warm clothing is also recommended. March - April May: Spring General Weather Description: The nicest season of the year, with very comfortable weather. Temperature in Tel Aviv is usually between 16 to 24 Degrees centigrade which are 61 to 75 Degrees Fahrenheit. Jerusalem and the Golan Heights are approximately 3 degrees centigrade colder (5.5 Degrees Fahrenheit), and Eilat is usually 3 degrees centigrade warmer. What to Wear: On some of the days you may want a long T-shirt and a light jacket, while on other days a short sleeve T-shirt will do. So, Bring a good range of generally light clothes. For cycling, warm but light clothing is recommended, you may use arm and leg warmers, long sleeve jersey or a wind stopper and even a rain jacket can be useful from time to time. June - July August (and sometimes September): Summer General Weather Description: Summer is hot in Israel! We usually speak of the heat in terms of temperature + humidity, not only temperature. As for weather conditions: Temperature in Tel Aviv is usually between 24 to 35 Degrees centigrade which are 75 to 95 Degrees Fahrenheit. Jerusalem and the Golan Heights are approximately 3 degrees centigrade colder (5.5 Degrees Fahrenheit), and Eilat is usually 3 degrees centigrade warmer. Keep in mind that in very hot days, which we usually get during the month of August, the temperature in Tel-Aviv may rise to 35 degrees centigrade which is 95 degrees Fahrenheit mixed with 95% humidity. In Jerusalem those days are as hot, but without the humidity, and in Eilat temperature may even climb up to 45 degrees (113 Fahrenheit), but without the humidity. What to Wear: Short, light, no sleeve, anything you can think of to cope with this mad summer. September - October November: Autumn General Weather Description: Some will argue and say that this is the nicest season of the year in Israel. 20 TERMS OF AGREEMENT TERMS OF AGREEMENT CANCELATION POLICY Cancellation prior to 90 days of the program: 70% of the down payment will be refunded. Cancellation 30 to 90 days prior of the program: 30% of the down payment will be refunded. Cancellations less than 30 days before the tour: 30% of the balance payment will be forfeited Cancellations less than 14 days before the tour: all payments will be forfeited. If for any reason Genesis Cycling will cancel the tour at any time and for any reason the full price of the tour will be refunded. Genesis cycling is not responsible for any additional expenses that may be incurred by a guest in relation to a canceled tour including costs incurred due to travel delays, flight cancellations, sickness and non-refundable air tickets and/or any penalties associated with such tickets. Genesis cycling reserves the right to make any changes in the original plan of the tour such as schedule changes, hotel modifications, rerouting tracks or sites visits due to acts of nature, trail conditions, group riding pace or any circumstances beyond Genesis cycling's control. TOUR PAYMENTS Tour payments include: accommodations, transportation, guiding, 3 meals a day (except for lunch during the rest days), sites fees, riding escort and assistant, mechanical escort medical escort and domestic flight. Any additional requests by the customer may entail an additional payment. Refunds for changes in the tour initiated by the customer will be given if requested not less than 30 days prior to the tour. RESPOSIBILITY Genesis Cycling bears no responsibility for physical injuries or damage to property of the participants. Riding a bicycle through long distance and climbs requires great physical effort. Participants must be aware that they have no medical or other limitations that prevent them from withstanding such an effort. It should be known that riding a road bike entails some danger, including the danger of death. In case of emergency, all rescue operations will be based upon the local rescue services. Participants will be responsible for any fees charged. Participants are obligated to have personal Travel insurance for active sports. Wearing a helmet is obligatory throughout all riding stages. Genesis Cycling bears no responsibility for any damage caused to the bicycle and/or any cycling gear caused during the tour and/or bicycle transfer including air transfer.
