1 Press kit for the Grand Hôtel ***, Strasbourg Located in the heart of Strasbourg, facing the train station, close to the old part of the city La Petite France and to the most touristic area, the Grand Hôtel is ideally situated. The Grand Hôtel welcomes its guests in a modern spirit, uncluttered with chocolate, sand and plum colours. The custom-made furniture is completed by a collection from a Belgian designer. The lobby and the lounge-bar with its chimney seduce the guests by its modern and bright atmosphere. The Grand Hôtel is also an exposition place, where you can find many original pieces from local artists. A BIT OF HISTORY We have to head back to the early 18 th century to see the opening of the Grand Hôtel. After being completely ruined by the bombings during World War II, the Grand Hôtel was reconstructed and reopened in It was built with a revolutionary panoramic elevator, which offers a beautiful view on the six-floor-staircase. This elevator was imported from the USA by Mr. Dreiber, an Alsatian architect. Still fashionable, it brings more charm to this wide and bright space.
