Located on the City s bustling west end, the facility offers a comfortable setting for smaller group rentals and over square feet of rental space for larger events. Besides being a prime setting for local rentals, the City of Humboldt s central location in the province makes it the perfect host for organizations and groups from across Saskatchewan and beyond. The Humboldt Uniplex is a combination of four unique corners. Together they help to facilitate almost any rental configuration. 1. North - Convention Centre 2. West - Elgar Petersen Arena 3. South - Curling Rink 4. East - Aquatic Centre 5. Central Lobby Administration Centre & Concession These four corners are connected by a central lobby and administration area allowing for easy access between facilities. The uniqueness of each facility allows for greater flexibility in meeting the needs of each renter. The Humboldt Uniplex also provides recreational opportunities on site with our state of the art fitness room, arena and curling rink ice surfaces, aquatic centre and plenty of outdoor green spaces. Beyond the grounds of this facility, the City of Humboldt has everything you need to make your stay in Humboldt comfortable and enjoyable. 3 North: Convention Centre When it comes to booking weddings, meetings and smaller group events the Convention Centre is the popular choice among our renters. Including the kitchen, there are seven rooms available for rent, from a 240 square foot board room to a 5040 square foot hall complete with a 1700 square foot dance floor. In total the Convention Centre contains nearly 10,000 square feet of rentable space and has washroom facilities and a fully functional kitchen. Three entrances and two sets of loading doors help make your event a hassle-free experience. 5 West: Elgar Petersen Arena The Elgar Petersen Arena (EPA) is located on the west corner of the Humboldt Uniplex. This arena is the location of seasonal sports like hockey, broom ball and skating, as well utilized year round for larger events like concerts and tradeshows. Thanks to the recently purchased floor covering system the EPA is an option for any type of event year round, regardless of whether the ice is in or not. Within a few short hours the ice surface can be covered and ready for your event set-up! Some of the major recent events include: 2013 Saskatchewan STARSkate Championships 2012 RBC Cup (Junior A National Hockey Championship) 2011 Saskatchewan Good Sam Samboree 2010 Gord Bamford Fundraising Concert 2003 World Curling Tour s PharmAssist Grand Slam of Curling 2002 Saskatchewan Winter Games The EPA has also been the site of circuses, tradeshows, graduations, reunions, rodeos and countless city events and functions.

6 South: Curling Rink While not as large as the EPA, the Curling Rink in the south corner also serves the needs of larger functions. For curling events there is seating for 130 in the lobby area and seating in the lounge overlooking the ice surface. Depending on how many of the six sheets of ice are being used, spectator seating can also be set up on the ice surface in the form of portable bleachers and seats. The Curling Rink has been the site of many large curling events, including the 2012 Provincial Scottie s Tournament of Hearts. This area also plays a crucial role in putting on larger functions that do not require brooms and stones! This space was relied on heavily during the 2012 RBC Cup, used as an entertainment venue, and is used annually during the City s Summer Sizzler event for dances and concerts. This space has become the ideal location for events that are not quite large enough to need the Arena but have outgrown the Convention Centre. The Curling Rink also offers renters the option of two other spaces for events, the curling rink board room and the lounge. 7 East: Aquatic Centre The east corner is an exciting addition to the Humboldt Uniplex experience. This square foot Aquatic Centre not only gives the local residents a recreational opportunity but also gives event goers and renters a leisure experience as well. Not only is the space a perk to booking an event in our facility, this space also plays host to swimming events and training courses. ROOMS Measurements Capacity Est. This room has direct access to the pool deck and is perfect for instructional courses and social events, enabling participants to go back and forth between the pool and room. It is also utilized with large events that need extra space, especially secluded space, as was the case for the RBC Cup when it was used as a VIP room!

8 Central Lobby Administration Centre & Concession The ease of access between all four corners is made possible thanks to the central lobby area. This area includes the main facility entrance, administration centre, concession, elevator, curling rink viewing area and entrances to all facilities. Recent renovations allowed for the creation of one central administration centre that services the entire facility. All bookings and public use of the facility is handled through this administration centre. The concession in the lobby serves the facility during arena and curling rink rentals, high school lunch program and other minor and major events. Catering is also available for smaller meetings and rentals. Advertising opportunities are available in our Central Lobby area including a display cabinet and LCD screens with running advertisements and events. There is also limited space for temporary displays within the lobby area. All these addition can help advertise and add to the atmosphere of your event.

Humboldt is located within 250 km driving distance of 9 of the 15 other cities in Saskatchewan (Melville is only 256km). These cities represent over 530,000 residents or put another way over 51% of the entire province s population. Three larger non-city centers (4000+ residents) are also easily within reach of Humboldt (Nipawin, Kindersley, and Battleford) Humboldt is the only major centre with over 60% of the province s population within 250km driving distance.

11 Visitor Information Visitor Guide & Visitor Information Centre Your guide to the City of Humboldt, the 2013 Visitor Guide, has information on local business, recreation, tourism and events. Pick up your copy at one of the City run facilities or at one of the numerous businesses spread throughout Humboldt. A PDF version is also available on the City of Humboldt website. Information can also be found at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Information Centre located on Hwy 5 on the east side of Humboldt across from the Co-Op C-Store. The information centre is surrounded by a well-treed campground and mini-golf course.
