1 Public Instrument 14 of 2017 Published in Gazette No of 06 October 2017 LAND ACQUISITION (SANCTION OF ACQUISITION) ( KATO POLEMIDIA- YPSONAS PUBLIC ROAD) NOTIFICATION 2017 The Administrator in exercise of the powers in section 7 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance(a), having approved the plans and particulars submitted to him under section 6 of that Ordinance and considering it expedient, having had regard to all of the circumstances of the case, that the land referred to in article 2 should be acquired, makes the following Notification. Citation and commencement 1. This Notification may be cited as the Land Acquisition (Sanction of Acquisition) (Kato Polemidia-Ypsonas Public Road) Notification 2017 and comes into force on 12 October Sanction of acquisition 2. For the purpose of the works specified in article 2(2) of the Land Acquisition (Kato Polemidia-Ypsonas Public Road) Notification 2017(b), the Administrator sanctions the acquisition of the land specified in Schedule 1 and shown shaded in red on the plan in Schedule 2. 5 EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Notification) 1. This explanatory note relates to the Land Acquisition (Sanction of Acquisition) (Kato Polemidia-Ypsonas Public Road) Notification 2017 (the Notification ). It has been prepared by the Office of the Attorney General and Legal Adviser in order to assist the reader of the Notification. 2. The Notification is made under the Land Acquisition Ordinance (Cap. 226), which sets out the statutory framework for the compulsory acquisition of land. It sanctions the compulsory acquisition of land in the communities of and Ypsonas in the Akrotiri Sovereign Base Area. The purpose of the acquisition is to enable the provision of access to a waste water treatment plant to be constructed by the Sewerage Board of Amathus. 3. The plan in Schedule 2 is available for inspection at the Akrotiri Area Office during normal working hours.
