4 Grand Massif Samoëns Morillon : new Club Med Resort in France On 17 December, Club Med will open its new holiday Resort, Grand Massif Samoëns Morillon, in the French Alps (Haute Savoie), confirming its stated ambition to be the the world leader in premium all inclusive mountain holidays. Along with the successful openings in the Resorts of Val Thorens Sensations and Valmorel, it marks a new chapter in the company s history. Situated in a prime location on the Plateau des Saix, at 1,600 metres altitude, this Club Med has 423 rooms and offers a ski-in, ski-out experience. Among its primary attractions are its exceptional 360 panorama across the Samoëns-Morillon valley and its location right in the heart of France s fourth largest ski area, the Grand Massif, offering 148 runs and 265 km of slope to enjoy. The Resort, which is designed for both summer and winter holidays, for families, groups of friends and couples, has so much to offer guests that it will leave them wanting for nothing. 5 guest arrivals Life made easy: Gentils Organisateurs (G.O.s) equipped with tablet PCs meet new guests at the reception desk or in the adjacent sofas to complete the check-in procedure. Everything is straightforward thanks to the Easy Arrival service and its numerous features, such as the possibility to reserve ski equipment before departure and have one s skis and boots ready and waiting in a heated ski locker on arrival. Ski passes are handed over at check-in, too. Plus, with Easy Arrival, which was first launched two years ago at Club Med Val Thorens Sensations, guests wishing to register for ski lessons or book children into the Kids Clubs may do so online. Throughout the Resort and in the rooms, screens provide instant access, all day long, to information about things happening in the resort, such as the dress code for the up-coming party, weather and snow forecasts, events and so on. interior decoration P04 Studio Arch agency designed (in collaboration with the FBG Architecture agency) and developed the architectural project. Fostine Ferro Interior agency realized the decorative concepts and achieved an astute blend of contemporary design and mountain atmosphere in the Resort s décor especially with frescoes representing the mountain nature. These large frescoes such as a black and white imprint enhanced with a color proper to the space in which it is integrated allows to discover or rediscover every day evocations of the local nature: flowers, ibex,... Natural materials, such as wood and stone, predominate throughout, in direct reference to traditional Savoyard design. The building itself has a stone base and features timber cladding. Its simplicity allows it to blend into the landscape, especially with the roofs, which will be vegetated in summer and covered with snow in winter, like a perfect extension between the landscape and the building. The lobby and main bar resemble the mountains in winter the green of the summer is gone and we find gentian or glacier blue, white as bright as the snow or the mountain flower edelweiss, and brown like the chamois and old wood in reference to alpine chalets. The main restaurant has four different areas, each with their own atmosphere: the warm mountains (deep orange), the mountains and pasture (yellow), the mountains at dawn (pine green), and the mountain and its lakes and rivers (blue). The rooms celebrate the mountains in autumn in this season, the limestone rock is still dotted with green, hence the meadow green and white theme. The bathroom doors feature lively forest animal motifs and the bathrooms walls evoke the mountain stone. In the spa, we find wood and amber tones reminiscent of the sun setting over the mountain peaks.

6 A family friendly resort When it comes to meeting the needs of families and making life easy for them, Club Med has thought of everything: communicating rooms and family suites, a full range of kids clubs and clubs, common areas, activities and ski lessons. children's clubs and activities for all ages Grand Massif Samoëns Morillon has clubs and activities for kids aged from four months to 17 years old. So, how does it work? All clubs are located in the same part of the Resort, just beneath the main restaurant to keep comings and goings to a minimum. The décor of the Grand Massif's Passworld has an industrial touch, with its football table, graffiti on the walls and Photo Booth. During the rest of the evening, all families are welcome (booking is required). Now here's an original concept at this restaurant, children invite their parents to share a dinner with them. Kids get to play Petits Chefs and concoct the meal they are going to eat while having lots of fun along the way. Once they've donned their apron, it's time for a family photo at the Photo Booth and some interactive fun on a tablet PC. They can also fill their menu with stickers, play games on the table mats, compose their soup, make their own bread bowl and try one of the desserts. 9 a family friendly ski area Whether guests are experienced skiers that love to hit the black runs or more 'cautious' skiers, France's fourth largest ski area, the Grand Massif, is suitable for all. It regroups two ski areas into one, connects with five ski resorts and offers 148 runs. Its position facing Mont-Blanc is one of its many plus points; skiers are guaranteed breathtaking views from the top of the lifts, while lower down the mountain, chalets and shepherds' huts dotted in between the pine trees make for charming and authentic surroundings. Grand Massif, which connects the Massif and Flaine ski areas together, offers 'sports' skiing on the Flaine side with technical runs designed for experienced skiers, as well as 'family' skiing on the wide, pine-dotted runs of the Massif ski area, which is more suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. Lastly, to make life even simpler for parents, the Resort has two ski rooms for children with direct access to the Mini Club and the slopes. P08

Downhill skiing and snowboarding lessons take place in groups of 12 people and are all taught by a state-certified instructor. 100% Ski & Snow : Five hours of lessons a day, with lunch at the holiday Resort. Ski & Relax : Five consecutive hours of lessons. Late lunch at the holiday Resort, followed by a relaxation session including time in the jacuzzi, steam room and pool. 11 wellness The 600 sq. metre Carita Spa, with its 11 modular treatment cabins (including one double cabin), and indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, offers stunning mountain views and is the ideal place to unwind after a day's skiing or simply for some pampering. Two swimming pools, one indoor with large ceiling-to-floor windows and one outdoor (open in summer only), a hair salon, a steam room and a sauna can also be found in the wellness area. A very well-equipped fitness area offers the sports-minded highperforming facilities, including solutions designed by some of the leading exercise specialists such as Les Milles, Matrix, Planet Fitness and Pavigym. Group classes are also available, with warm ups and muscular awakening to prevent stiffness, and after-ski yoga and pilates sessions to help the whole body to relax and recover. P10

12 Open in summer too! With its idyllic location surrounded by lakes and mountains, in the heart of a preserved natural region, this Club Med is an ideal place for a revitalising summer holiday. Hiking trails for all levels and with different themes surround the resort. There are cultural hikes, sporting hikes and even family hikes that take in the authentic scenery of the area. Activities like mountain biking and Nordic Walking are also on offer for guests, always accompanied by a Club Med G.O. The Lac Bleu (Blue Lake), approximately 20 minutes away from the resort, has a designated bathing area as well as a host of other activities, including a tree-top assault course, volleyball nets and a play area for children.
