7 9 / LIMITING ITS IMPACT TRAFFIC AT PARIS-ORLY AIRPORT IS SUBJECT TO TWO REGULATORY CONSTRAINTS: FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTING A PROACTIVE POLICY OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN ORDER TO SET THE EUROPEAN BENCHMARK IN THIS AREA. 234,453 aircraft movements operated at Paris-Orly in 2016 S an annual limit of 250,000 take-off and landing slots at Paris-Orly Airport (Decree of 6 October 1994 from the Minister of Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) S daily curfew. No landings between pm and 6.19 am* No take-offs between pm and 5.59 am*. * local time Thanks to the implementation of best practice and its robust policy of reducing greenhouse gases, Paris-Orly airport has received «Système de Management intégré et environnement» (Integrated Environmental Management System) certification and has successfully renewed its Level 3 Airport Carbon Accreditation. As the leader in sustainable development, Paris-Orly airport has introduced numerous initiatives: S A PRO MOBILITE ORLY charter, the aim of which is to improve accessibility and mobility, while minimising the use of cars by employees of companies operating within the airport. CO 2 S A major programme involving the management of energy consumption and the production of renewable energy with, for example, a geothermal plant, is enabling hot water to be produced for heating, three refrigeration units for cold distribution to all the companies within the airport, and more. S A waste collection and processing service is available to companies, including the recycling of plant residues. An infra-red system for treating weeds is also helping to reduce the use of chemical products by 98%. S The creation of a «filter marsh» has enabled the physical-chemical treatment of run-off water to be complemented. S The choice of less polluting vehicle fleets, the construction and renovation of infrastructures within the airport in line with HQE standards, the installation of 400hz ground power connections for aircraft on stands and reducing taxiing time are all helping to reduce CO2 emissions. S 3 to 5 million m 3 of rainwater is collected and processed every year. To protect water and biodiversity, rainwater is reused for air conditioning, toilet facilities and watering. S The introduction of the CDM concept - Airport Collaborative Decision Marking - allowed fluidity of ground traffic flow and punctuality. An efficient mean for continual improvement of the quality of service. 10 PARIS-ORLY 11
8 10 / CREATIVE MODERNISATION UNDER WAY FOLLOWING REDEVELOPMENT OF THE APPROACHES AND AREAS AROUND THE TWO TERMINALS AND THE OPENING OF A NEW INTERNATIONAL DEPARTURE LOUNGE IN THE PARIS-ORLY SOUTH TERMINAL, PARIS-ORLY AIRPORT IS PURSUING ITS TRANSFORMATION. The scheduled work will push the annual capacity of Paris-Orly Airport up to 32.5 million passengers, in compliance with regulations. As part of the Southern interconnection project for highspeed rail lines, a TGV railway station may be created by 2030, providing access to a vast French and European high-speed rail network. Construction of a junction building between the South and West terminals by 2019 to offer top-standard service quality and operational efficiency for airport partners. Junction building linking the South and West terminals of Paris-Orly Airport (non-binding picture) New international departure lounge at terminal south of Paris-Orly The new international departure lounge commissioned in March 2016 offers passengers and airlines more space, quality and resources to match growth forecasts in international traffic. Cœur d Orly is a huge urban development project, which consists of creating an eco-business district and living areas. The 1st Askia office building has already been built and offers 18,500 sqm of office space within a modern HQE. A multi-modal hub will centralise all public transport services.
