2 EVIAN AND THE FRENCH EXCELLENCE Small town of nearly 9,000 inhabitants, Evian enjoys an exceptional location on the edge of Leman lake and at the bottom of the Alps. It has protected and highlighted a unique architectural heritage. It offers a living environment preserved and concerned about ecology. It develops its tourist assets due to its infrastructures and its cultural policy. For all these reasons, the City of Evian was the first French town to receive the French Excellence Award in This distinction rewards its efforts to make France shine worldwide.

3 A NEW evian FACTORY After three years of works, the evian bottling factory was inaugurated in September More modern and ecological, it opens its doors to visitors at the end of January A unique experience that shows you the creation of a water bottle, its packaging and its shipping to one of the 140 countries where it is exported.

4 NAVAL PARADE The parade of the Belle Epoque fleet by the General Navigation Company (CGN) will take place in Evian this year. Those historic boats will offer a unique sight on Sunday, 20 May Cruises and events will take place during all the week-end.

5 IN JULY, MUSIC IS EVERYWHERE After having hosted the 25th Victoires de la Musique Classique (French classical music awards) in February, the Grange au Lac auditorium will get back its annual festival, les Rencontres Musicales d Evian, from 30th June to 7th July. International artists will present unique collaborations led by the musicians of the Modigliani Quartet. The young students of the Evian Music Academy will be able to take part in the Festival Off until 21st July in various places of the city. Then the Jazz festival will occupy The Grange au Lac from 14 to 16 December 2018.

6 EVIAN, SPORTS CITY From June 29th to July 1st, Evian hosts for the fourth time, the F1H20 Motorboat Grand Prix. This Formula 1 powerboat racing brings together pilots from all over the world who compete with each other. After the roaring engines on the lake, return to calm with the Evian Championship, Major of women's golf, from 13 to 16 September 2018.

7 PICASSO, THE WORKSHOP OF THE MINOTAUR The exhibition, Picasso, the workshop of the Minotaur, assembles exceptional artworks (paintings, sculptures, engravings, tapestries...) from public and private collections. It explores the development of a major theme in art history and the reappropriation of this initiatory and funerary myth by Pablo Picasso during the interwar period. 8 A FABULOUS CHRISTMAS The Flottins, created in 2006 by the Toupine Theatre, come back with the wind of winter, and settle their village in the centre of Evian. This imaginary people coming from the surrounding mountains decorates the entire town with driftwood sculptures. Santa Claus will be their host from 20th to 24th December 2018.
