2 PLEASE NOTE For arrival transfers in the airport, the driver will wait in the arrivals hall, after passing through customs. Waiting time after arrival is ½ hour. In the case of delayed arrivals due to flight changes or any other causes, VIP Tours is no longer responsible for providing the transfer. In any case, VIP Tours must always be informed about eventual delays. VIP Tours reserves the right to increase rates in case of changes of the tax system, fluctuations in exchange rates and other unforeseen changes in petrol prices etc. We also reserve the right to increase rates for services beginning and/or ending at Copenhagen Kastrup Airport in case the airport decides to change the billing of pick up/drop off. Panoramic city tour: During the tour you will see the Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace (seat of the Danish Parliament), Hans Christian Andersen s statue, Gefion Fountain, the old harbour of Nyhavn, the famous Little Mermaid and many other popular sights. 3 ENTRANCES Christiansborg Palace (Danish Parliament): $35.00/person The palace built on the ruins of Copenhagen Palace, houses the Danish Parliament (Folketinget), the Supreme Court and the Royal reception rooms (which can be visited unles the Queen is using the rooms). The palace today bears witness to three eras of Danish architecture, as a result of two serious fires. The first fire occurred in 1794 and the second in The main part of the current palace, built in 1928, is in the historicist Neo-baroque style. The chapel dates to the 1800s and is in neoclassic style. Tivoli: $30.00/person The Tivoli Gardens opened in 1843, and is the second oldest amusement park in the world. Apart from the various attractions (roller coasters, carousels etc.) there are many restaurants within the park, a pantomime theater, concert halls, etc. In the summertime, the park is decorated with a multitude of flowers. Please note that Tivoli is not open all year. Seasons 2018: winter 02 FEB-25 FEB, summer 24 MAR-23 SEP, Halloween is usually from mid OCT to start NOV, and Christmas from mid NOV until New Year. On Fridays in the summer season there are free rock-concerts on the open-air stage mainly with Danish artists (here the entrance fee is higher than above). Rosenborg Castle: $30.00/person The beautiful castle was built in 1633 of red brick decorated with sandstone. Rosenborg is not only a beautiful historic building, it is also a fascinating museum of cultural history which houses some of Denmark s greatest cultural treasures, not least the crown jewels and the Danish Crown regalia. The museum tells the history of Danish kings through 300 years, from Frederik II in the late 16 th century to Frederik VII in the 19 th century. NB! Groups of max 35 persons per guide. Non refundable when booked! Canal cruise: $24.00/person Grand Tour: 1 hour starting from Nyhavn or Gammel Strand. A lovely canal tour around the harbour and through the idyllic canals where you will hear stories about Copenhagen's beautiful churches, castles, listed houses, modern architecture and many other sights. HEY CAPTAIN private canal Cruise: $464.00/per hour (max 12 pax) Explore the wonderful city of Copenhagen, by cruising through the canals with a drink in your hand. Your captain will tell you memorable stories as he guides you through the historic center of Copenhagen. København, as is the Danish name for Copenhagen, translates into the Merchant Harbor. Therefore you will also find that most of the historical sites are located by the waterfront and along the beautiful canals. During the tour your captain will take you around for 60 minutes, and show you all the most interesting sights. The tour can vary depending on the wishes of the group, but will give you a truly enjoyable view of city from the harbor. NB! Boats fit a maximum of 12 guests. 4 Carlsberg Visitors Centre: $24.00/person Probably the best beer in the world this is Carlsberg s slogan and you might improve your knowledge of this world famous beer by visiting the Carlsberg Visitors Centre. Carlsberg was founded in 1847 by the brewer J.C. Jacobsen and became an important part of Danish and international business activities. Entrance includes 1 tasting + gift. Statens Museum for Kunst (The National Gallery): $25.00/person The only museum in Denmark which features 700 years of western art and cultural history under one roof. The museum houses a large collection of Danish and international paintings, sculptures, drawings and installations. Nationalmuseet (The National Museum): $19.00/person The National Museum is Denmark s largest museum of cultural history. It is the museum for all Denmark where you can follow the history of the Danes right down to the present day. The complex includes the Prince s Palace (Prinsens Palæ), built in 1744 by Eigtved, which was home to members of the Royal family in the 18 th century. Closed on Mondays. Louisiana Museum of Modern Art: $29.00/person (located north of Copenhagen) The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is located directly on the shores of Øresund in Humlebæk, 35 km north of Copenhagen. Its originality lies in the fact that the beautiful natural surroundings play a leading role in showing the collections to great effect. The collection comprises sculptures by Arp, Calder, Ernst, Dubuffet, Moore, Jacobsen as well as a series of Giacometti s sculptures dramatically displayed in rooms overlooking Humlebæk lake through floor to ceiling glass panels. The museum also holds regular temporary exhibitions. SUGGESTED TOUR: 5 hours excursion to Roskilde: The Viking Tour will take you westward from Copenhagen, through farming countryside and small villages, some of which were founded by Vikings more than a thousand years ago. Upon arrival in Roskilde until 1417 the capital of Denmark you will visit the Viking Ship Museum, containing the remains of 5 Viking vessels which have been salvaged from the bed of Roskilde Fjord, where they were sunk more than a thousand years ago to prevent aggressive intruders gaining access to the town from the sea. After visiting the museum, a short drive to the Town Square, where a visit will be paid to the twin-spired cathedral. Construction of the cathedral was commenced during the 12th century and additions have been made through the years, in different architectural styles. The cathedral is the traditional burial place of Danish monarchs and contains more than 40 royal tombstones. Viking Ship Museum Roskilde: $30.00/person The Viking Ship Hall, the oldest part of the museum, was opened in It was designed as a large showcase to display the five Viking ships found at Skuldelev. The hall also houses special temporary exhibitions and a cinema, where a film about the excavation of the ships is shown. An extension to the museum, Museum Island, was opened in The museum boatyard, where visitors can watch shipwrights at work, is located on the island. The Activity Centre, where the School Service is housed, is also found here. Roskilde Cathedral: $15.00/person The first Gothic cathedral to be built of brick and its construction encouraged the spread of this brick gothic style throughout Northern Europe. Since 1995 the cathedral has been listed at a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Please note the cathedral is closed for tourist on Sunday mornings 4

5 SUGGESTED TOUR: 4-8 hours excursion to the castles of North Zealand: The tour leaves Copenhagen passing through rural villages and wooded, undulating countryside to Hillerød, for a visit to Frederiksborg Castle, the beautifully situated Renaissance building which - like so many others - was built by orders of King Christian IV. Today, Frederiksborg is the home of the Museum of National History, the collection of which includes priceless paintings, silver and porcelain items, furniture and tapestries. The castle chapel houses Denmark s oldest organ from From Frederiksborg, drive on to Helsingør, passing en route Fredensborg Palace, built in 1722, the Spring and Autumn residence of the Danish Queen. A brief photographic stop will be made here. Upon arrival in Helsingør you will visit the imposing UNESCO s listed Kronborg Castle, which was the setting of 'Hamlet', the dramatic masterpiece by William Shakespeare. After Kronborg, return to Copenhagen along the coastal road, passing through small villages, fashionable resorts and some exclusive residential areas on the way. Recommended visits to be included to North Zealand: 4 hours: no entrances (short outside visits only) 5 hours: 1 entrance (Kronborg or Frederiksborg) 6 hours: 1 entrance (Kronborg or Frederiksborg) and time for lunch 7-8 hours: 2 entrances (Kronborg and Frederiksborg) and time for lunch Frederiksborg Castle: $20.00/person built as a royal residence for King Christian IV, and is now known as The Museum of National History. The current building replaced a previous castle erected by Frederick II, and is the largest Renaissance palace in Scandinavia. The palace is located on three small islands in the middle of Palace Lake, and is adjoined by a large, baroque formal garden. Kronborg Castle: $32.00/person The castle's story dates back to a fortress, Krogen, built in the 1420s by the Danish king, Eric of Pomerania. Kronborg is situated near the town of Helsingør (immortalized as Elsinore in Shakespeare's Hamlet) on the extreme northeastern tip of Zealand at the narrowest point of the Øresund, the sound between Denmark and Sweden. In this part, the sound is only 4 km wide, hence the strategic importance of maintaining a sea fortress at this location. The castle has for centuries been one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europa and was added to UNESCO s World Heritage Sites list in

The tour is centered mainly around the oldest parts of Copenhagen and the new Market halls (Torvehallerne). The tour itself is a perfect combination of sightseeing and culinary experience. The walking distance is approx. 4 km, and the walk is done a leisurely pace with several stops en route where you have the chance of sitting down.
