She began work in the Bimeks meat-processing plant and since 2004 has worked for the Governent of Brcko District. Her duties are in the fields of environmental permitting, public participation in environmental impact assessment studies, the drafting of laws and regulations on environmental protection, and public outreach and awareness-raising campaigns. She has participated in international projects related to the harmonisation of domestic legislation with European Union legislation and capacity building for implementation. She co-authored the Manual on the Implementation of the Aarhus Convention in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has over 11 years of experience in provision of consulting services, workshops and trainings to a large number of BiH Municipalities in development of Local Environmental Action Plans (LEAPs) and other local strategies/studies. Mrs. Suman has also extensive experience in environmental cooperation with neighbouring countries in the frame of trans-boundary cooperation projects, and within the country with all stakeholders representatives, but especially the local government and NGOs. She has been active also in NGO capacity building and public awareness raising projects, as well as environmental financing. She also has strong educational and knowledgetransfer skills, proven though training of NGOs in management of environmental projects from the financial and technical point of view. She has over 20 years of experience in financing, planning and analyzing. She joined the REC 17 years ago and since than she managed all REC BiH projects from the financial point of view. Besides that, she is also project manager in certain REC s projects. In some projects she participated as an expert. Therefore, she has strong experience in the environmental field, especially related to development of strategies/plans on the local level, capacity building and support to the environmental institutions/organizations, assessing strategic environmental investment needs in country, and environmental project monitoring and auditing. She also has strong educational and knowledge-transfer skills, proven through training of NGOs in management of environmental projects as well as advising and assistance to the government structure from different levels in sense of capacity building and ensuring qualitative and proactive dealing with environmental projects. From 2012 he chaired the Administrative Cooperation for market surveillance Group for the EU directives Ecodesign and Pyrotechnics. Furthermore he coordinates the cooperation on enforcement and compliance issues between a variety of Chinese organisations and ILT. She was senior programming officer for Component I and IPA coordinator for Component III under the IPA, dealing with the Operational Programme for Transport and the Environment. Between 2000 and 2003 she was head of the Division for Multilateral Cooperation, and from 2003 to 2007 she was head of the ministry s Department for European Integration. She joined the REC in 2008 as regional director for South Eastern Europe (SEE). She is responsible for supervising and coaching REC country and field offices in the SEE region and, as one of REC s senior managers, for supporting the REC s strategic vision and programme planning for the region. She is currently completing post-graduate studies in environmental management. He started as an intern in the Office of European Integration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Portugal) in 2004, he participated in the team that monitored and reported EU s institutional reform to the Ministry s policy makers. After completion of the BA he moved into the civil society sphere by working for a regional newspaper, where he covered and wrote pieces about local and regional politics, civil society initiatives, liaisoning with local stakeholders and covering relevant events. Once he finished his MA (2007), he became an expert in the Environmental Law Enforcement and Compliance team. In the past 3 and half years his work portfolio includes: project development (project proposals and project concepts development) and management, network communication strategies and PR, international Secretariat management, capacity building. She has managed or taken part as an international expert in a number of environmental related projects, among which were the conformity checking and monitoring of progress of transposition and implementation of environmental directive for candidates and potential candidates countries during 3 years, and the EC framework contract on support with complaints and infringement cases in the field of environment. She also participated in the writing of several publications including the Handbook on the Implementation of EC Environmental Legislation.
