Fashion People not factor the look and style of the water bottle in their decision to purchase. Bottles are now usually on show and come with accessories such as straps BRANDING Companies endorse their branding through water bottles and even the if famous people are endorsing their branding by using their bottles even if they are not drinking the actual brands product FILTERS There has been a dramatic increase in bottles including filters in their bottle designs to purify the water and also to allow other substances such as tea to be included or supplements FRUIT BLENDER With the massive focus on health eating and diet, people are more conscious of what they eat or drink.

5 NOZZLE The Nozzle is a soft rubber nozzle. The Nozzle is of domed shape and has a small round nosed fillet on the rim. The nozzle has a rim stopper underneath to prevent any leakage. NOZZLE The Nozzle is a soft rubber nozzle. The Nozzle is a disc like shape and has a small fillet on the rim. There is not rim stopper on it and is quiet difficult to close LID The Lid has a smooth, red, high gloss finish. The Lid has a pattern on the side for grip when opening or closing the lid. The shape of the lid is circular and has a chamfer heading towards the top. LID The Lid has a textured plastic with a matt finish on it. I t has not patterns except for the adidas logo on the front of the lid. The lid is a nice dome shape that fits neatly onto the body of the bottle GRIP & FEATURES The Shape of the bottle is cylindrical shape and has a grove that goes 360 degrees around the bottle slightly above have way, this allows to better grip. As stated there is grip with the pattern in the lid to open or close There isa dome as a added feature which prevents the lid from getting dirty or coming in contact with germs GRIP & FEATURES The bottle is of cylindrical shape but tapers from top to bottom slightly. It has a grove that rotates 36o degrees for a better grip. There is a added feature of a measure gage that measures the volume of water in the bottle.

7 Developing Design Concepts

8 From my initial brainstorming has led me to believe that a plastic bottle would be my preferred choice mainly due to durability and cost. I have also leaned to theme of health promotion and to further studetn the implementation of health features to the body. I want to however look at two bottles of simlar price and then desing a more up market product. I have designed two bottles firstly one with the theme of health and fruit in design one, I have also been inspired by the shape of a wasp a have modelled my third design on it. Similar shape to a electric razor. Design two is more up market. Design two Design one In Design one I had came up with the concept of incorporating a fruit squeezer in the bottle. The bottle has two screw top one on the bottom and one on the top. When you close the bottom is squeezes the Juice. The design is a modular design that will allow me to add features of accessories such as filters, colours, had grip, to help promote the bottle and accessories I came up with a name. The body will be made of low-density polyethene Design three I have decided to develop design one further. The reason for choosing this design is that I have been influenced by the characteristics of a Lemon and how to incorporate it through bottle as best possible. I will try to implement the shape, texture and taste of the lemon into my design. I have also likened the idea of creating a bottle that allows for the person to buy further add-ons or products for the bottle. This will help to market the product and also to widen the potential market of the product which I feel is in the Health food and diet sector, which has had a big rise in awareness. This design was inspired ergonomically by a tin whistle. There is finger grooves on the front similar to a tin whistle. The top grove will have a button that if pressed will allow the person to drink from it, it will only allow some one to drink from it when it is pressed. I have also included a strap that will allow someone to wear the bottle around their neck as I envisage this bottle being suitable to festival goers and hikers. This concept focuses on the ergonomics of the as the main feature of the bottle. While I was brainstorming I had noted that the figure eight was best suited for easy grip I furthered research and began to assess the shape of a wasp and also noted that the shape was very similar to an electric razor. The bottle would also have a domed lid as the bottle would not be free standing like the other bottles. The shape would suit all sized hands and would be easy to store as it would be smaller than they other two designs

Shape is influenced by the top of a lemon FILTER/COOLER Filter that clips into the inside of the lid, filters the water and prevents and fruit particles from going to the nozzle Cooler similar design and dimensions only that it has no filter patterns only in the top. The cooler is filled with water and frozen BOTTOM The Bottom is influenced by the middle section of a lemon, this it wear all the juice is and also in the bottle this is where the Lemon Juice is produced The material and colour are the same as the top and is yellow, low density polyethlene with a rubber texture on the outside for grip and to look like a lemon There is a squeezer that fits perfectly on a ledge on the inside of the bottom. You put a piece of fruit on the squeezer insert into the bottom and then tighten, while tightening the squeezer produces the juice.
