2 Dear Parents, Campers and counselors have enjoyed visiting the activity periods everyday and participating in group activities. This week we learned about our local legend, Emlen Tunnell. We are looking forward to a full week with fun activities and trips. Thank you for your continued support and patience this summer. Camp Reminders: Please remember to send your camper with a full lunch, water and snack. Apply sunscreen in the morning before camp and send a bottle in their backpacks to reapply later in the day. It is also important that they wear sneakers. Campers must bring a swimsuit, towel and goggles on swim days. Refer to the swim schedule on page 8. 3 Trips In week 3, our camp is going to the Upper Darby Summer Stage to see The Lion King. Groups 4A, 4B, 5/6 will go on Wednesday July 11th. ***SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR L.I.T. GROUP*** Groups 1, 2A, 2B, 3 and L.I.T. will go on Thursday July 12th. After the show, on both Trip Days campers will be bussed to Clem Macrone Park for a picnic. Campers are asked to bring a lunch like always and beach towel to sit on. Pizza Day is TUESDAY!!!! Radnor Day Camp: 9:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. Thank you for your patience this week as we made adjustments to our drop off, pick up and entrance procedures. We were originally informed the project would be completed this week; however, we have received an update that the project is still not complete. Specialty Directors Spotlight Performing Arts This week in Performing Arts, we are diving into the many characters of Inside Out!

The campers are playing acting games to get into character and getting excited to start their dances for the annual camp performance.

! This week we celebrated our very own hometown hero, Emlen Tunnell! All of the kids colored their very own football player and participated in some Tunnell Trivia!

4 Specialty Directors Spotlight Performing Arts This week in Performing Arts, we are diving into the many characters of Inside Out! All of the campers are diving deep into their imaginations this summer in Performing Arts. The campers are playing acting games to get into character and getting excited to start their dances for the annual camp performance. Please keep an eye out in upcoming newsletters for costume needs for each group. Meghann Weaver Spirit and Events Hi from Spirit and Events!! This week we celebrated our very own hometown hero, Emlen Tunnell! All of the kids colored their very own football player and participated in some Tunnell Trivia! We had tons of fun learning about Emlen Tunnell and sharing some fun facts. Please remember to send your camper with something to tie dye. We are tie dying THIS WEEK!!! Send it in a ziploc bag with their name and group on it. Thank you! Duchie Bale Leaders In Training (L.I.T.) Last week was a week of many firsts for all of us and that s no different for the Leaders in Training! We started off on a strong note with games and activities that worked on our leadership skills and emphasized our goals for the summer. But that doesn t mean that we didn t have any time for exciting camp activities. We spent some of our days having fun and learning what we can do to be better leaders for the younger campers. Some of the LITs even jumped in and helped lead activities! Everyone was looking forward to getting into groups to begin shadowing. On Friday, we assigned each of the LITs to a grade and a special activity. Honorable mentions go to Allison for her great job with our name game and Aidan for winning our first game of freeze dance! This may have been the second week of Radnor Day Camp, but the Leaders in Training saw even more firsts as they began their shadowing! After dividing them into groups of three, we sent the LITs out around camp to help RDC leaders with their campers. From helping Mr. Lewis lead a relay race in Sports & Games to organizing the plaster creations for Mrs. Mustard in Creative Crafts, the LITs made us proud in every group. We have high leadership and responsibility expectations, but the LITs have shown us that they can become magnificent leaders! This week, we d like to shout-out two groups for going above and beyond right away. A big thank you to the 1st Grade group for their wonderful positivity with Ms. Duchie and the 4A group for leading an activity all on their own the very first day! Jeremy Elliot and Alex Quigley

Sports and Games Hello RDC! It was crazy HOT this week, but we aren't going to let that stop us from having fun in the sun!

Although we stayed inside most of the week due to the weather, we were all able to still have fun playing games like "Secret Football" and "Steal the Bacon (football)".

This week, we played some fun camp games with a little football twist to them to match the theme of Super Bowl Week at camp. Although we stayed inside most of the week due to the weather, we were all able to still have fun playing games like "Secret Football" and "Steal the Bacon (football)". Next week, we will have even more fun at camp with different games. To ensure that your camper can experience RDC at it's fullest, please pack a reusable water bottle with their name on it, sunscreen in a ziploc bag and have their name on it, and have them wear sneakers so they are able to run around and participate in different activities. The central theme of all we do in the camp art workshops is to present the materials and let the campers figure out what they want to make. With the team of camp counselors assisting, I am here to help work out solutions to the campers creative challenges. We are launched on one of the most fun projects; creating a sculpture out of cardboard, newspaper, aluminum foil and masking tape with a final addition of a coating of plaster gauze to make a permanent sculpture. Now my big challenge (which I am passing on to you, the parents and families) is to locate an additional donation of plaster gauze so all the campers have enough to finish this project. If you work in the medical field and know of a doctor or practice that would like to support this creative endeavor, please pass this request along. You will make happy campers. Meredith Mustard Hello RDC Parents! Swimming I hope your families had a fun filled 4th of July! It was great seeing some of our RDC Campers along the Parade route as we went by! This week at the pool, we enforced the importance of being able to do a good streamline & introduced freestyle to the groups. Please remember to keep sending in goggles, or simply leave them in their backpacks. A good pair of Speedo Swim Goggles works best. Have a great weekend!! Mary Beth Aquatic Director
