11 WACD Plant Materials Center Phone: Address: Bradley Road, Bow, WA The mission of the WACD Plant Materials Center is to provide high quality conservation plants, materials, and services for the benefit of natural resources. The WACD Plant Materials Center was established in 1993 to provide high quality tree and shrub seedlings for the conservation community. The 60-acre bare-root nursery, located in Skagit County, produces over 70 species of quality conservation seedlings and cuttings. Many species are available as a 1-year seedling, 2-year seedling or as a transplant. Contract growing is available to clients requiring specific species and stock types. 13 Washington State Envirothon The Washington State Envirothon is an annual natural resources competition in which high school youth demonstrate their knowledge and problem-solving skills on the topics of aquatic ecology, forestry, soils/land use, and wildlife. Regional competitions take place throughout the state in the spring of each year, and the state competition is held in mid-may. The Washington State Envirothon champion team wins the opportunity to travel to the North American Envirothon to compete against other winning teams from the United States and Canada.
