Lana was a bright light in the lives of anyone who knew her. For many, Lana still shines in their life, with love and fond memories. The words and memories shared at her celebration of life were an incredible tribute to the life Lana embraced. God must have had a special need for her, to call her away so soon. We will miss you Lana. God Bless you Don. I want to thank everyone who helped clean out our storage unit, and Jr. Past Dave Hoover for organizing and storing TOA s stuff. I presented my 2018 budget at our February 1 st general meeting, and if you were there you know why I am so very positive about the future of our club. This year will be filled with fun cruises and activities that can only come with TOA and you! We are coming into the Commodore Ball season with our fellow yacht clubs. Totem is coming up on 24th of Feb with Des Moines on March 3, Fox Island will follow on April 21 st. TOA will host our Ball on March 24 th at Day Island Yacht Club. If you have never been to a ball please consider attending one or more and have the time of your life. Make sure that you invite all of your friends and family to the TOA Ball as well. You will meet new people who are interested in the same things we are, having fun on land and water. We had our Freeze Cruise at Arabellas on the 26,27 and 28 th of January and if you missed it, you really missed a great time. A big thanks to Alex & Natalie Wilsie for chairing this fun cruise. 2 Vice Commodore Report: Don Winnett Hello Toa As your vice Commodore this year it will be fun filled year of cruises and just getting together. With what went on in my life I still plan on doing all the fun things that Lana and I did with each and everyone of our boating friends. Our first cruise will have already happened as our freeze cruise in late January more on this cruise next month. We also have the spring camper cruise coming up in March please make sure you call rest a while campground to make your reservations, also please see flier in this Outboarder for more information on that cruise. 3 Rear Commodore s Report: Dave Dolhar Awaiting Picture Hello everyone, TOA Is beginning to make preparations for year 2018 Marine Daffodil Parade, celebration at Tacoma Yacht Club on April 13 thru 15. The Theme for this year is. Traditions In Bloom. We are looking for a volunteer to be our token representative and their support committee. Now If you haven t experience Daffodil Saturday s activities with all of the area s boat club s representatives marching into the hall, (chanting their club s slogan) and then competing in the music / nautical trivia contest, while enjoying a few Daffy Drinks, you ll really in for a great time. I believe we have a float boat volunteer (Thanks Dave & Donna Hoover), but we also need a float designer and construction crew. Oh I almost forgot to mention Mr. Hoover is requesting we refrain from running lag bolts into his boat hull. Last but not least, I have been in negotiations with Paul Di Vona hoping he will take the opportunity to be our TOA flag Ship and to show off his new boat. Please try to encourage him to volunteer when you see him. A little history note, I understand TOA has never missed a Daffodil parade, and our float boat has always been bringing joy to many of the families along the parade route. 4 Membership Report: Athena Gomez Hello TOA We had a past member rejoin at our Jan Meeting. I would like to welcome back Jesse Mitchell and Anne Marie Murdock. We had two new members Join at the Jan meeting I would like welcome John & Donna Porter, and Amanda & Jeremy Jordan to the club. I hope to bring more members to the TOA Club so please let family and friends know about us. And just a little reminder that dues are due by the April meeting. 5 Social Report: Open Greetings TOA friends and family, Hello Members of TOA, we are looking for someone to fill this position. If anyone thinks that they would like to fill this very gratifying position please contact Commodore Larry. We are looking at planning a bowling event the 25th of Feb. please stay tuned for the details. Our Junior Past Commodore is planning a Commodores Ball on the 24th of March. Please see the flyer in this Outboarder. If you have any ideas for a social event please do not hesitate to bring it to the board for discussion. We are open to ALL suggestions.

6 Hello TOA! I am pleased to announce that TOA will be holding a Commodore s Ball this year for Commodore Larry and his first mate Sherri. Please see the flyer in this Outboarder for all the pertinent info. The ball will be on the 24th of March and will be located at Day Island Yacht Club. So please set this date aside and plan on a great evening of fun, fellowship, dining and of course dancing the night away with all of our other Yacht club friends.
