7 DID YOU KNOW... 1 EVENT HISTORY 11 The East Woodstock Jamboree has been held on East Woodstock Common since July, 197. It is a celebration of our independence featuring a chicken barbeque at 11:0am, and a parade at 1pm. The Jamboree is a much anticipated event every year. This old-fashioned celebration reminds us of a simpler time. So come with us and step back in time as we celebrate the brave people who have gone before us. The East Woodstock Cornet Band was founded by a joint Resolution of the Connecticut House of Representatives in 189 and has performed throughout northeastern Connecticut since that time. Performances are sponsored by local organizations and are free and open to the public. The Woodstock Fair started in 188 and is one of the oldest agricultural fairs in the country.
