Annette Reichenbach Friend +2 guests Given the positive response to last year's Durango trip, we are organizing another ride to that destination for Based on how things went last year, we're going to make a few modest changes for this year: 1. We are extending the ride by one day. Dates are for July 6, 7, 8, 9, and returning on the 10th. 2. Day rides for the three days we will be in town will be decided each day based on what the weather looks like and where riders want to go. We can break down into groups and offer more than one choice each day. I will be adding these day trip rides to the event listing in the coming months, but they will include Silverton, Telluride, Ridgeway, and Pagosa Springs. 3. 3 all our food. To make things simpler, I will roll this into the price for the event. Candace at the Durango Hometown Hostel has given us the same great deal we had last year on a per night basis. With the extra night at the hostel, food, and gas $$ for van to bring the food up, the cost for this year will be $125 per person. This includes breakfast and dinner each day that we are there (with the proviso that enough members sign up to cover the cost). Bunk assignments: For the most part you will just pick which room and bunk(s) you would like when you sign up. However, last year we had several members that for medical reasons needed a bottom bunk and we had some problems switching them around. So if you are in good physical condition, please consider taking a top bunk when you sign up. And if you take a bottom bunk realize that you may be asked to give it up for someone that can't climb to the top. See Room Listing below. Oh yeah, one more: NO POWDERED EGGS! Yuck! Ever wonder what it would be like to fly through the Alps? For the money, this will be a pretty close simulation. We did this last year and it was a lot of fun! This trip will be a 5 day, 4 night trip to Durango, Colorado. The beauty of the mountains has to be seen to be believed. I have done this ride the last 3 years and it is phenomenal! And the twisties are some of the best I've been on. This has been one of the most enjoyable and economic trips we are able to offer. We will be staying at the Durango Hometown Hostel again this year. Durango in general is very expensive for hotel rooms, even the fleabags don't go for less than $80 during the summer. The hostel on the other hand is very nice (just like staying in someone's home) and inexpensive. 4 we have and that we have breakfast and dinner meals included, this is a really good deal. Candace has provided me with the rental agreement for To keep the reservation, we need to place a deposit with her by the end of the year. So please start signing up and paying for your reservations. Last year we sold out all the beds in the facility. So please don't wait till the last minute! Candace will hold the reservation until Dec 20 without charge. By Dec 20 she needs a non-refundable deposit of $ The balance of the rental amount is due by 45 days prior to the rental (May24th). So to secure this really good deal, we will need to collect the money up-front for this trip. Cost of the trip is $125 per person. Please pay the entire amount when you RSVP. The easiest way to get the payment to me is through PayPal. The hostel contains four dormitory-style rooms with bunk beds with a maximum capacity of 26. Linens and security lockers are included. 3 private shower stalls with locking vestibules 3 sinks and 3 private toilet stalls Towels provided for all guests at no extra charge The upstairs living room contains all the comforts of home in a sociable atmosphere, including a fireplace, library, and computers with internet access. WIFI is free, a voluntary donation is requested for the use of the house computers. A fully equipped self-catering kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, and dining area is also available for guests' use. A large deck extends along the back side of the Hostel, which backs up to a forested hillside just over the ridge from some of Durango's most popular mountain-biking and hiking trails in Horse Gulch. The grounds include several garden areas featuring native

5 and ornamental species, and the property is set back from the street to afford guests a quiet and relaxing experience only minutes from downtown Durango. There is free PAVED parking on the premises with security lighting. Candace, the owner/operator of the Durango Hometown Hostel Takes extremely good care of the property. I stayed at the hostel every year the last three years and it was immaculate! We can eat out for lunch, but can save money by cooking breakfasts and a dinner in the full kitchen - spaghetti anyone? Day 1 will be travel from Phoenix to Durango. A long but easy route, mostly highway to get us to Durango. Here's the Day 1 Route Map. Gas stops will be in Payson, Holbrook, Gallup, and Shiprock. Total Miles: 435 miles Difficulty: 3.5 for distance only. Max Fuel: 97 miles Estimated time: 9 hours including gas and lunch stops. We should get to Durango about 4:30-5:00pm. We'll get settled in and help my mom bring in the rest of the supplies from the van. My mom should have beat us there. Plenty of time for dinner, some beers and a good nights rest for tomorrow. If the event sells out and you wish to be responsible for your own lodging, sign up on the waiting list and send me an that you have reservations to stay somewhere else and I will add you to the "yes" RSVP's manually. We are not allowed to have anyone stay overnight at the Hostel beyond the 26 we have beds for. However, we are allowed to invite those that stay elsewhere over for meals. And we will go on the trip Rain-Or-Shine. Once paid, your money is non-refundable unless someone takes your place. I can list the availability on the site, but it is your responsibility to find someone. Once someone takes your place and pays the event cost, I will refund your money. That being said, our group tends to be quite generous if someone has a genuine emergency. If you have a genuine emergency and can't go on the ride, I will try to find someone to take your place for you. If I can't do that, I will go to the group and see if they will agree VOLUNTARILY to cover your portion. But keep in mind that this is not guaranteed and you still may forfeit your $125. If there is some reason (I can't forsee) that the whole trip falls apart, I will refund whatever money hasn't already been spent at that time making sure that everyone shares equally in the loss.
