1 JAY KAREN CEO, PAII Since 2007, Jay Karen has been President and CEO of the Professional Association of Innkeepers International, the leading association representing owners of bed and breakfasts and country inns. PAII provides education, communications, public relations, networking, and research services to its membership and the greater industry. PAII hosts the world s largest annual gathering of innkeepers, The Innkeeping Conference & Trade Show, and publishes the industry s leading trade publication, Innkeeping Quarterly (IQ). Prior to his role at PAII, Jay was with the National Golf Course Owners Association for ten years, having served the association in several senior staff capacities. Jay holds a Master of Arts degree in American History from the College of Charleston and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) by the American Society of Association Executives. Jeff Logan is one of the four founders of InsideOut Solutions, a website design agency specializing in hospitality marketing. Since 1995 through the guidance of Jeff, InsideOut Solutions has become the largest company dedicated to the B&B industry. InsideOut works with 800+ B&B s, Guest Ranches & 22 Lodging Associations. JEFF LOGAN INSIDEOUT SOLUTIONS Jeff cares about developing lasting customer relationships. He's traveled across the country to meet clients in person, visit their inns and get a feel for what makes their regions special. Jeff is also a sought-after speaker. Over the years, he's spoken to more than 5,000 innkeepers, helping them better understand the opportunities offered by the Internet. This last year had him travel from Alberta to Ireland. MARY THURWACHTER INNside FLORIDA A Florida resident since 1979, Mary Thurwachter writes travel stories for The Palm Beach Post, Miami Herald, Fodor s Florida travel guide and other print publications, and is founder and publisher of the travel e-zine INNsideFlorida.com. She and her husband, INNspector Alex, have cased all sorts of Sunshine State joints, from the Panhandle to The Keys. TOM BEATTIE BED AND BREAKFAST.COM Tom Beattie Tom has worked for BedandBreakfast.com for over 5 years. In his current role, he is the Direction of Operations and Support for BedandBreakfast.com. Within that role he manages all customer support teams for BedandBreakfast.com, RezOvation and Webervations. Prior to joining BedandBreakfast.com he worked in the Hotel/Resort Industry for 4 years.

2 BRENNA DACKS VISIT FLORIDA Brenna Dacks is the Business Development Manager of Visit Florida for the north Florida region, which spans from Pensacola to Jacksonville. Brenna started at VISIT FLORIDA in 2001 as a PR and Promotions Intern and later accepted a position working in the sales department upon graduation from the University of Florida. After three years coordinating events to help Partners connect with meeting professionals, Brenna accepted her current position in the Industry Relations department. As the North Florida Business Development Manager, Brenna fosters relationships with current and prospective Partners. She serves on the Board of the Northeast Florida Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association and is an active member of the Junior League of Jacksonville. Brenna resides in Jacksonville where she and her husband enjoy spending time with their friends, family, 1 ½ year old son, Jack and dog, Chula. Peter Scherman Peter Scherman, founding member of The B&B Team, has been an inn consultant and broker since Serving clients across the country, Peter has helped countless current and aspiring innkeepers realize their dreams, maximize their potential, and avoid expensive pitfalls. He has spoken at many state, regional, and national Innkeeping conferences on issues which are of importance to everyone in the innkeeping community. Rick Wolf Rick Wolf, former owner/innkeeper of Kennebunkport, Maine s Captain Fairfield Inn is a partner with The B&B Team, Inn Consultants and Brokers. Rick and his wife operated their inn for six years, and he now brings his experiences in branding and marketing with companies like Levi Straus & Co., Perry Ellis, and Outlast Technologies to the Innkeeping community. A creative marketer, insightful consultant, and engaging speaker, Rick offers his broad based expertise to the Innkeeping industry nationwide. Mary White is the Founder and CEO of BnBFinder.com, a top rated bed & breakfast online directory. She is also the author of the book, Running a Bed & Breakfast For Dummies and has been promoting B&Bs and the industry for more than a decade. Mary is a go-to source in the B&B industry and has been featured in numerous media outlets such as The New York Times, Washington Post and USA Today.

Mary incorporated her business under the Harworth Publishing banner, named after her father in She began publishing Spa Life magazine in Spa Life magazine is aimed at an audience dedicated to the world of spa-ing for repose, rejuvenation and new beginnings. Mary and her family recently bought and restored an 1850 Log house in Guelph, Ontario. Mary is married to John Westerman and they have two daughters, Paige, age 7 and Sydney, 9 as well as two dogs Oliver and Bo. Mary is always looking to buy that perfect B&B! JEFF BRYCE RESNEXUS Jeff Bryce has been directly involved with hospitality on the Bed and Breakfast level for over 5 years now. He enjoys providing unmatched Red Carpet Service along with his associates at Reservation Nexus. Setting up systems of operation for bed and breakfasts and inns has brought much satisfaction over the years. Jeff s wife Jenn has a medical background as an Registered Nurse and has accompanied Jeff for the FBBI Conference this year. They have enjoyed tying in the Anatomy Terms of Medicine in to the practice of Hospitality together. Jeff and Jenn have two children Hannah Marie that will be turning 4 in October and is starting pre-school in the Fall and Leah Elizabeth that just turned two in June and is developing a caring and warm personality they would not be surprised if she became an innkeeper one day.

A Jacksonville native, Wayne graduated from the University of Florida from their prestigious risk management and insurance program before joining Herbie Wiles Insurance immediately after college.
