We really appreciate everyone bringing a side dish. We had quite a feast didn t we? And I really enjoyed all of the compliments everyone gave me, I m sure that had nothing to do with the fact I was the holder of the drink tickets, now was it? We have had several great happy hours this past month also. What a great way to get together with other club members and talk about what we are doing during the summer. Be sure to come to the next meeting to get your last minute updates for Kelley s Island. I m sure Carol is going to have lots of fun planned for us there. See you all soon! But is was a great time after we all caught up with each other. August 2 - Papas Boos at Buckeye Lake Saturday August 2nd, we will meet at Papa Boos located at Buckeye Lake. I hope everyone enjoys this one, Chris and I will be on the boat on our way to Canada, but have a cold one for us. Music will be by Brad Moore on Guitar from 2 pm to 6 pm. September 9 Wine Cache in Granville We are looking at have another happy hour at the Wine Cache in Granville for September. So watch for the date, we will be firming it up prior to the membership meeting. We are looking at September 9th for this date. More to come on this event soon. Mediterranean and Greek Isle We are now counting down the days until our cruise. We hope you are all as excited as we are!!! Hopefully you have selected the tours you wish to take and have gotten the info back to us. The deadline for this is Aug 1. Our pre-party will be Sunday, September 7 (2-6pm) at Carol Amore's house. Please plan to attend as we will have lots of last minute info for you. We will be staying at the Alpine Meadows Condos. The weekend will include 3 nights lodging, a welcome party. Lift tickets are available at a discount for the weekend if we purchase them together as a group. This has always been a great weekend to ski and get the group together for a pizza party for an evening of fun. This is as close to out west as it gets for Ohio skiing. Ski Holimont If we have a group that would like to ski at Holimont on Thursday we can arrange that for the price of a lift ticket. They would love to have us ski there again this year for those that had the opportunity to ski there last year or in the past it is a nice secret and was great skiing. Can accommodate cars, RV s, campers, bicycles. Call The Jet Express offers passenger service to Kelley s via Sandusky, Port Clinton & Put-in-Bay JET It is presumed campers will be bringing a vehicle and camping accessories. A map of the island can be obtained online at Kelley s Island State Park Located on Division Street Island Taxi $4.00 See Carol Amore for camp site arrangements or questions. Carol Amore The cost for the weekend lodging is $ per person at Alpine Meadows. Lift tickets at Holiday Valley are $75.00 for the weekend starting on Friday at 4pm through Sunday. Sign up at the August meeting. A $50.00 deposit is required to hold your spot. Activities

Sad but True I am sad to announce our December 2008 ski trip to Beaver Creek trip is being cancelled due to lack of sign ups. We will try again next year, but at this time we do not have enough interest to confirm reservations. If you have made a deposit on this trip you will be receiving a refund or you can move your deposit to another trip. We are a great group to travel with and if you are a member and have not taken a trip with us you are missing an opportunity to travel to some fun places and have a great time. Activities Telluride Colorado Jan 31 - Feb 7, 2009 Whether you are looking for a kick butt ski vacation, ski cruising w/ a great view, or an exciting winter getaway, the club's '09 Telluride trip is for you!! We're leaving for Telluride on January 31, 2009 for seven great nights in this fun western town - we return home on February 7th. The Telluride area offers phenomenal skiing, plus a great selection of additional activities - X-C skiing, snow shoeing, two local theaters, museums, snowmobiling, restaurants, bars, and shops, all within easy reach from our condos w/ a beautiful Rocky Mountain backdrop. Price for the land package is $ which includes 5 days of skiing and our lodging in two person condos with an easy walk to the slopes. We are still working on the best deal we can find for airfare, and you may have some choices to make, so come to the August meeting or call me for the details! Travelling with this crowd is more fun than you can shake a ski pole at, so hop on the sign up list and be prepared to make a deposit to hold your place - limited number of spots are available and you don't want to miss out!! The meeting date is October 7th, there will be a membership meeting, then Mike will be showing us some of the newest dance steps. Mark your calendars now for the October 7th meeting. Mike was at our meeting last year and everyone had a great time, so he agreed to this repeat performance/opportunity to learn some dance steps. Membership News Come out and join the fun. There will be no day at sea with this cruise as we will cruise at night and arrive at a new port each day.

However after these rooms are sold there will be an increase in the port charges. This trip has also just been offered to all members of Ohio Valley Ski Council. So the group will be growing, there are already 300 plus skiers on this cruise from other ski clubs around the country, much like the an is offering. There will be no day at sea with this cruise as we will cruise at night and arrive at a new port each day. We will set sail out of San Juan on Carnival's ship called Victory, for 7 days of cruising many of the islands. Price below is based upon current airfare charges and could fluctuate. We will be staying up the Gastein Valley in Bad Gastein at the Hotel Weismayr. At present the trip includes: Round trip air from Columbus to Munich on Delta Airlines Bus transfer with English Speaking assistant from Munich Airport to Bad Gastein Welcome parade with Hot Wine 7 nights accommodations in a 4 star Hotel Weismayr Use of the Wellness Center in each hotel Local guide assistant Breakfast Buffet and Dinner daily Optional day tours Passport cases and Luggage tags 24 hour Emergency Contact Local taxes Holidaze Rep.
