2 Welcome to the International Swimming Pool and Wellness Forum from 7 to 10 November 2017! For the seventh time aquanale and FSB are presenting trends and themes from the swimming pool, sports and wellness sector in their congress programme. For the first time under a new name: the Cologne Swimming Pool and Wellness Forum has become the INTERNATIONAL Swimming Pool and Wellness Forum. All the lectures are available in German and English by means of simultaneous translation and the focus of the content is of a global character, without dispensing with topics of national interest. So European standards, cross-border design trends and best practice are on the agenda. Topics include successful renovation and architectural concepts as well as issues of the profitability of public swimming pools and hotel pools. Private swimming pools also have their place at the forum, in particular with the EN and EN rules. In addition, the tourism sector is addressed with lectures on Wellness as a growth accelerator for tourist destinations. For swimming pool attendants there is a new block that highlights the new remuneration regulations and opportunities for qualifying and subjects that go beyond the target group such as the strengthening of communication skills offer all groups of visitors suggestions for their day-to-day work. 8 Speakers Prof. Peter L. Arnke Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Arch. Peter L. Arnke founded Arnke Häntsch Architects in Berlin in 1987, which was renamed Arnke Häntsch Mattmüller in In addition to his work there, he has had various lecturing assignments since He has been a member of IAB since 1991 and specialises in sports, leisure and pool facilities. Thomas Beutel Thomas Beutel has been working in the water industry in 1991 and at Lutz-Jesco GmbH as the Manager of Business Segment Development since As a side-line, he has been working since 2005 as an expert for swimming pool technology and plant engineering in which dosage equipment is used. He is a member of the DIN and CEN committees for water treatment and swimming pool water, for privately used swimming pools and for swimming pool equipment as well as of various committees of the Austrian Standards Institute, DGfdB, bsw and FIGAWA. Andreas Debus Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Andres Debus has been working for 17 years for Kannewischer Ingenieurgesellschaft mbh, where he has held the position of authorised officer in the fields of project management and quality management since He was awarded his diploma at Berlin s University of Applied Sciences in Dipl.-Ing. Frank Eisele Dipl.-Ing. Frank Eisele of WWS Eisele serves not only as chairman of various standardisation committees on the national and international levels at the forefront of standardisation, but also as a publicly appointed and sworn expert for swimming pool technology. In addition to other tasks, he runs the technical board of Bundesverband Schwimmbad & Wellness e.v. (bsw). Eisele has been an industry expert for many years and is equally familiar with the interests of manufacturers, plant operators and specialist swimming pool forms. Jürgen Elgg Jürgen Elgg has been Managing Partner of Wassertechnik Wertheim for 15 years, joining as a project engineer in In addition to these duties, he serves on various committees in the field of water treatment, among other things at DIN, FIGAWA and DGfdB. Bärbel Frey Thomas Herbing Thomas Herbing has been National Chairman of the General Local Government Section at the ver.di trade union since 2009 and coordinates among other things ver.di s pools policy. Having studied economics majoring in political economy, he worked as a lecturer in vocational training and adult education. He was also manager of the SPD s Europe Office in Saxony-Anhalt.

9 Speakers Gar Holohan Gar Holohan is the founder and executive chairman at Aura Holohan Group in Ireland. Amongst others the Aura Holohan Group is specialized in sport and leisure architecture and is providing consultancy as well as management services in the sport and leisure sector in Ireland. Furthermore, Gar Holohan is the Director of the International Union of Architects Sports & Leisure Working Group made up of more than 50 worlds leading architects specialized in sport and leisure facilities as well as the Vice President of the World Squash Federation. Dr Stefan Kannewischer Dr Stefan Kannewischer was a management consultant at Bain und Company for 4 years before joining the family business Kannewischer Holding in Zug (CH) in 2001, where he is the senior manager responsible for consultancy and operational management. Kannewischer Management AG operates five thermal baths and wellness pools of its own in Germany. Kannewischer has been President of IAKS International since Christoph Keinemann Arch. Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Keinemann has working in the pool construction sector as the Managing Director of GSF Planungsgesellschaft mbh since He specialises in sports, leisure and health projects. He is a state-approved expert in acoustic and thermal insulation and an independent expert in pool construction. In addition to these tasks, he holds lectures and has published various technical essays and articles on completed projects. He is co-author of the 2013 KOK pool construction guidelines. Rainer Pethran Rainer Pethran is the Managing Director of GMF GmbH & Co. KG with its business focuses on consultancy and management for leisure facilities, pools, thermal baths, and hotel, spa and wellness facilities. At the end of his career as a basketball international and teacher in Munich, he switched to the fitness sector in He has been working at GMF since 1992, initially as Sales Manager/Authorised Officer and since 2011 as Managing Director. Pethran is in demand as a speaker at trade fairs and congresses and serves as a juror in architecture competitions. László Puczkó PhD László Puczkó PhD is the managing director of Xellum Ltd. Amongst others, they are specialized in consulting in leisure and tourism. In 2012, he founded The Tourism Observatory for Health, Wellness and Spa working in the field of health and travel providing a platform for investors, researchers and the industry. He is speaking and training at various professional international events like ITB in Berlin and Piscina&Wellness in Barcelona. Michael Reis Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Michael Reis is the founder and Managing Director of W.E.T. Wasser.Energie.Technologie GmbH in Kassendorf. He is a member of the DIN swimming pool water treatment and DIN plant water treatment standardisation committees. In addition, he has been deputy CEO of INUWAT AG for the last 5 years. Before starting his own business, he worked for Wabag in Kulmbach in the sale of water treatment systems. Marion Schneider Marion Schneider is CEO of the Toskanaworld group which operates hot springs, spas, hotels and a rehabilitation clinic in several locations in Germany. As an expert of the Wellness industry, Marion Schneider presents on conferences and congresses worldwide. She is a member of the Hot Springs Initiative of the Global Wellness Institute. With Toskanaoworld she is a sponsor of the German National Tourist Board. Moreover, she is a board member of the Sächsische Heilbäderverband (Association of spa towns in the German state of Saxony).

10 Speakers Thomas Schwarz Thomas Schwarz is chairman of the examination board for foremen of the swimming pools in Düsseldorf district government. From 1974 he was in charge of various operational units in Düsseldorf s swimming pools, among other things at the Düsselstrand outdoor pool. Today he is full-time chairman of the works council. Schwarz is also course director and instructor of the further training course for swimming pool foremen and member of the Federal German Pools Work Group. Prof. Peter Taylor Prof. Peter Taylor is the founding editor of Managing Leisure: an international journal, and a board member of 7 Hills Leisure Trust, which owns a number of sports facilities in Sheffield. Peter s research has included analyses of the economics of sport and leisure; the financing of excellence in sport; and performance indicators and national benchmarks for local authority sports centers and swimming pools. Peter is a member of the Sport Volunteers Research Network. Ernst-Ulrich Tillmanns Ernst-Ulrich Tillmanns founded 4a architects in 1990 after having worked for five years with Behnisch and Partners. 4a architects are an international architectural practice with offices in Stuttgart and Moscow. They focus on planning, constructing and rehabilitating buildings in the public sector. During the last 25 years, 4a architects have realized numerous leisure and thermal pools, sports and health-oriented buildings, cultural and educational facilities as well as hotels. Ernst-Ulrich gives lectures home and abroad at conferences and other occasions. Dieter Vatheuer Dieter Vatheuer has been Managing Partner of PROVA Unternehmensberatung GmbH since Prior to this he worked in for the municipal council, for local radio and as a pool manager. Vatheuer is currently a board member of Internationale Akademie für Bäder-, Sport- und Freizeitbauten e.v. in Germany and first Chairperson of Gesundheitsstandort Hamm e.v. Andreas Veauthier Andreas Veauthier established Veauthier Architekten in Berlin in 1998, specialising in new buildings in the education sector and in the construction and modernisation of swimming pools. He held a lecturing post at TU Berlin from 2005 to 2010 and at Berlin s Beuth University of Applied Sciences in He is now continuing this activity at RheinMain University in Wiesbaden. Numerous lectures, guest reviews and juror assignments accompany his work. Martin Wiedemeyer Diplom-Kaufmann and business coach Martin Wiedemeyer of CBR Development has been serving the industry for several years at trade fairs, conferences and dealer training seminars. The communication professional with many years of sales and management experience is a training consultant at the academy of Bundesverband Schwimmbad & Wellness e.v. (bsw) and has made a name for himself with his classic Selling Success workshops and his manager training. In addition to the necessary theory, he places strong emphasis on hands-on teaching with tips that can be put straight into practice.
