He has a thorough knowledge of basketball having played college basketball in the United States for four years and also spending two years at the Sydney Kings in the National Basketball League before his career was cut short due to a back injury. David s experience enables him to organise all aspects of travel, including competition which includes games/tournaments, sanctioning with governing bodies, flights, accommodation, transport, and all sightseeing opportunities.

4 TOUR INCLUSIONS & EXCLUSIONS Tour Costs Include: Accommodation comfortable 3 to 3 ½ star hotels for the duration of the tour. E.g. Crowne Plaza, Travelodge etc. Ground Transport for the duration of the tour. Organisation of a minimum of 5 games against either National League or ABA (2 nd Division) teams. This includes any associated costs eg. court hire, payment of referees etc Training / Practice costs. Sanctioning Fees through Basketball Australia, Basketball NSW, Basketball Victoria and Basketball Queensland. All administration and planning of the tour. Tour costs exclude: Flights (International and Domestic) Meals Please note the group should receive some meals at after game functions. Excess baggage Entry to attractions. Items of personal nature (e.g. laundry, phone calls, room service, etc). Passport and Visa requirements USA Basketball sanctioning. Travel Insurance HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Please note any aspect not stated above as an inclusion will not be included in tour package All land costs shown are subject to alteration (up or down) due to currency fluctuations and increases in land and air costs which arise between now and the date of departure. Costs will also depend on availability of hotels, trains, buses etc quoted on. These costs are subject to the group travelling together throughout the tour. Any variation will incur an amendment fee and may also jeopardise the costs for the rest of the group. 5 Tourist Activities Sydney Sydney lays claim to being one of the most beautiful cities in the worlds. The population is around 4.5 million people and is Australia s oldest and largest settlement. The city is built around one of the most spectacular harbours in the world. The many attractions include: the historic Rocks area, heavenly beaches, beautiful national parks and a laid-back lifestyle. Other attractions are as follows: Sydney Tower see the complete panorama of Sydney 305 metres above the ground. Cruise on Sydney Harbour it is both a major port and city s playground. Its waters, beaches, islands and waterside parks offer all the swimming, sailing, picnicking and strolling you could wish for. Sydney Opera House the world famous Opera House is dramatically situated on the eastern headland of Circular Quay. Sydney Harbour Bridge walk across the famous icon and experience the fabulous views of the city and the harbour. The Rocks Markets historical tourist precinct, full of narrow cobbled streets, fine colonial buildings, converted warehouses, markets, tea rooms, and stuffed koalas. Bondi Beach has a majesty all of its own. Sand and surf the home of the beach volleyball competition during the Olympic Games. Manly Beach harbour and ocean beaches, a ferry wharf, all the trappings of a full-scale holiday resort and a great sense of community. Bridge Climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge Experience the three hour Bridge Climb adventure that will take you to the top 134 metres above sea level, secured by a harness. Australian Football League (AFL) or Rugby League game experience this unique sport to Australia. Travel to the Blue Mountains The Blue Mountains National Park has some truly fantastic scenery, excellent bushwalks and all the gorges, gum trees and cliffs you could ask for. Sydney Aquarium displays the richness of Australian marine life. Quite spectacular. Taronga Zoo has a superb harbourside setting and more than 4000 critters, including lots of native Australian animals. Centennial Park rollerblading, cycling, ball sports, picnicking. Darling Harbour huge purpose built waterfront leisure park on the city centre s western edge. Includes shops, restaurants, aquarium, Imax theatre, museums, Chinese Gardens and the Star City Casino. Melbourne Melbourne is a city of Victorian-era buildings, parks and gardens, and leafy boulevards. It is Australia s second largest city and a vibrant, multicultural place characterized by its people. Food, sports and the arts are the main preoccupations. City Centre see the sights of the CBD: Flinders Street Train Station, Young and Jackson s Pub, St Paul s Cathedral, Melbourne Town Hall, Bourke Street Mall, and Chinatown. Queen Victoria Market this market has been running for 100 years. It s historic but also a great place to buy just about anything, or just wander around. Southbank across the river from the city centre, the Southgate development has riverside walks, three levels of restaurants, cafes and bars, all of which to enjoy a view of the city skyline and river. Arts Precinct this area to the east of Southbank is the heart of Melbourne s high culture. Crown Casino the 24 hour casino is one of the world s largest. The entertainment complex includes bars, cafes, restaurants, and cinemas. Other attractions include: Royal Botanic Gardens, Kings Domain, Melbourne Cricket Ground (one of the world s great sporting venues) and Melbourne Zoo.

6 Gold Coast Mention the Gold Coast and various images come to mind... stunning beaches, a surfing paradise, exciting theme parks, sunkissed locals, sophisticated style, the list goes on. Sea World is the longest running Gold Coast theme park. Includes animal performances, roller coaster and other rides, and a water park with slides. Movie World is a re-creation of the Warner Brothers film studio in Hollywood. Wet n Wild is a fun water-sports park with speed slides, wave pools, twisters and dive-in movies. Dream World is a Disneyland-style creation with 11 theme areas, including a wildlife sanctuary and various thrill rides. Water Sports and Surfing a wide range of gear if available to hire in Surfers Paradise including jet skis, fishing boats, sailboards, and surfboards. Bungee Jumping. Hinterland Trips day trips with hiking, walks behind waterfalls, swimming and barbecue lunch. Eateries, nightlife and casino. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary home to the world s largest collection of Australian native animals. 7 CONDITIONS OF BOOKING PLEASE READ CAREFULLY RESPONSIBILITY Gullivers Sport Travel Pty Ltd (which expression shall for the purpose of these conditions include and parents subsidiary affiliate or associated company and hereinafter shall be called the Company ) acts only as agents for the hotels, airlines, bus or car companies, railroads, steamship lines, or owners or contractors providing accommodation, transportation or other services, and all coupons, exchange orders, receipts, contacts and tickets issued by the Company are issued subject to any and all tariffs, terms and conditions under which any accommodation, transportation or any other services whatsoever are provided by such hotels, airlines, bus or car companies, railroads, steamship lines or owners or contractors. The Company shall not be liable or responsible for death of or injury to any person or loss of or damage to any property or otherwise (including baggage) whether due to its servants agents or employees negligence or otherwise arising out of or in connection with any accommodation transportation or other services or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, dangers incident to the sea, hijack, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of governments or other authorities, de jure or de facto, wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations delays or cancellations of or changes in itinerary or schedules or overbookings or defaults, or from any causes beyond the Company s control or through the acts of default of the hotels, airlines, bus or car companies, railroads, steamship lines or owners or contractors providing accommodation, transportation or other services or for any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents and that neither the Company nor its servants agents or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained or incurred by the tour members as a result of any of the foregoing causes. All prices quoted are subject to change without notice having regards to unforeseen circumstances, foreign exchange fluctuations and variations in airline operating costs including but not limited to say an escalation of fuel prices. Unused services cannot be refunded or exchanged. The Company reserves the right to cancel the tour and/or modify the itineraries in any way it thinks desirable and further reserves the right to decline to accept any person or any tour and may substitute hotels where necessary. The issuance and acceptance or receipts, tickets, vouchers, coupons or travel orders shall be deemed consent to the above. IMPORTANT INFORMATION : PLEASE READ ALL THESE BOOKING CONDITIONS CAREFULLY AND ENSURE ALL TOUR PARTICIPANTS ARE MADE AWARE ALL LAND COSTS SHOWN ARE SUBJECT TO ALTERATION (UP OR DOWN) DUE TO EXCHANGE RATE FLUCTUATIONS (SELLING RATE) AND INCREASES IN LAND AND AIR COSTS WHICH MAY ARISE BETWEEN NOW AND THE DATE OF DEPARTURE Tour Prices: Tour prices are based on costs in effect at 8 January Costs will also depend on availability of all services/inclusions quoted on at time of booking. These costs are subject to the group travelling together throughout the tour. Any variation will incur an amendment fee and may also jeopardise the costs for the rest of the group. Prices are based on the tour numbers stipulated on the itinerary. Any change in tour numbers will result in a revised tour price. NB. Cancelled rooms may result in 100% cancellation fees from hotels. Payments Schedule : Initial Deposit - At time of booking : $ per person (bookings will be made when deposit has been received in our office) Interim Payment - 6 month s prior to departure : $500 per person Final Tour Payment - 3 month s prior to departure : $600 per person Interim payments are not required for any tour to New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Australia or Flight Only bookings. Cancellation charges per tour member: (Notice of cancellation must be made in writing) Time of booking - 6 months prior to departure : $ per person 6 2 months prior to departure : $1, per person 2 1 month prior to departure : 50% of total tour cost (airport taxes are refundable) 1 month prior to departure and after commencement of travel : Nil Refund Please note there may be specialised inclusions in your tour such as Train Tickets, Theatre Show tickets, instant purchase airline tickets etc that are non-refundable in addition to the above Cancellation Charges. These cancellation fees are in addition to any cancellation fees that may be levied by our tour suppliers. Amendment Fee : Any person wishing to amend from the group tour arrangements will be charged a standard $ amendment fee per person plus any additional charges involved with the amendment (increase in airfare, additional transfers, accommodation etc). Documentation: Australian citizens require a passport with minimum 6 months validity from date of departure from final destination. Other passport holders may require additional documentation. Please check your applicable requirements with our Travel Consultant. A copy of each person s passport is required. Baggage: Free baggage allowance one piece weighing maximum 20 kg plus 1 cabin bag (piece) of 115cm with a maximum weight of 5kg per person (please note these restrictions vary between airlines & depends on your destination). Luggage in excess of these limits will be charged for at the appropriate excess baggage rates. Baggage is the responsibility of the passenger at all times (Travel Insurance is strongly recommended). Insurance Protection: We strongly recommend you take out a Travel Insurance policy which is available from Gullivers Sport Travel. Policy booklets are available from Gullivers Sport Travel. Billeting: If billeting is included in your itinerary, every attempt will made to secure billeting as per the itinerary. In the case that billeting cannot be secured additional costs will be incurred for accommodation required. Airline & Airport Taxes, Surcharges & Levies : Are not included in the tour cost as they are continually changing. Any of these charges imposed by the airline will be notified to you at the time of final payment 2 months prior to departure. Frequent flyer/mileage accrual : Some group airfares are not eligible to accrue frequent flyer points (due to discounted group airfares). Please advise your travel consultant if you are a member of the airlines associated frequent flyer program to see if your fare is eligible for frequent flyer point accrual. Travel Advisories : We strongly suggest that you consult the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT) website and register (either group or individual) so that you are kept up to date with any travel warnings or advisories that may be in place for your destinations ( You should also advise DFAT of your travel details such as date of departure and itinerary. Travel and Immunisations: It is essential that all tour participants discuss their personal travel plans with a health professional to ensure you have the correct vaccinations for your trip and any booster doses of childhood vaccinations you may need. Upon re-entry into Australia, Customs & Immigration will request a copy of your vaccination certificate if you have visited areas that have current health risks or hazardous diseases.
