1 LOSOKWAN CAMP RATES (2016) MAASAI MARA Losokwan Camp is an authentic Kenyan safari camp offering the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding Masai Mara wilderness without compromising on comfort or responsive service. The camp is small and intimate, located in Lemek Conservancy just north of the Masai Mara game reserve in arguably one of the best wildlife viewing areas of the Masai Mara ecosystem. Losokwan is the Maasai name for Buffalo. Our Conservancy offers hard-hitting game-viewing throughout the year and comprises open savannah and a treelined section of the mara river with high concentrations of plains game and the wildlife numbers are particularly intensified during the annual wildebeest migration the Calving Season migration. The camp comprises six cosy tents, replete with snug beds, en-suite flushing toilets and ablution facilities with running water, hot bucket showers, and all the other amenities required to make your safari relaxed and memorable. 5 TRAVEL INFORMATION Dressing The Maasai Mara area is meters above sea level making the nights a bit chilly and Morning and evening game drives sometimes cold. Please ensure you bring warm clothing and rain coats. Comfortable shoes are important for walking safaris and remember to bring a small backpack to carry your water bottles, snacks, camera, binoculars etc. White clothes are not advisable since the Savannah is dusty. Essentials Sunglasses, a sun hat, sunscreen, a small torch, and a pair of binoculars are part of the essential safari packing. Insurance Insurance is always the guest's responsibility. Make sure you have a valid travel insurance that covers your safari trip to Kenya. Safety Your safety is our highest priority and upon arrival, there will be a security briefing by our experienced guides. Kenya is a safe and reliable tourist destination but you should take precautions. Generally in the city, avoid isolated dark places, do not carry large sums of cash and avoid crowded areas. Visas Visas are now required for most visitors to Kenya EXCEPT for Nationals of the following countries: Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Botswana, Brunei-Darussalam, Cyprus, Dominica, Ethiopia, Fiji Islands, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Jamaica, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Maldives, Mauritius, Namibia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, San Marino, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, St Lucia, St Vincent & The Grenadines, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Turkey, Tuvalu, Uganda, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Zambia, Zimbabwe. Citizens from the following countries NEED to have a visa PRIOR to arrival in Kenya: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Senegal, Somalia, Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Mali, Sudan, Nigeria, Yemen, Cameroon, Pakistan, Tajikistan, North Korea. For other nationals, visas can be obtained at the airport upon arrival in Kenya or from the Kenyan Embassies / High Commissions abroad prior to departure. Currently the visa fee is US$50. Please note that if you obtain the visa on arrival at the airport, payment should be made in US$ cash banknotes. Immigration officers do not accept credit cards or travelers cheques. The visa is valid for three months, allowing return into Kenya from Tanzania or Uganda at no extra fee. Vaccination There are no compulsory vaccinations required for entry to Kenya unless you are arriving from an area infected with Yellow Fever, in which case a Certificate of Inoculation against Yellow Fever vaccination is required from travelers older than one year. Other recommended vaccinations are Typhoid, Hepatitis and Polio as well as anti-malarial medication. Before travelling please check with the health department in case of any changes on health regulations. Currency and Payments: The Kenyan currency is Kenya Shillings (Ksh). Approximate Exchange Rate: Ksh 148 to 1 GBP Ksh 102 to $1 US Dollar. All major credit cards and travelers cheques are widely accepted. Photography We recommend carrying a camera, a 35mm or 5+ mega pixel digital camera. Interchangeable lenses are recommended, with a normal lens and a telephoto of at least 200 mm, although a 400 mm or more is preferable for close-ups and for photographing wildlife. Always ask permission before taking photographs of people.

6 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1. Why visit Losokwan Camp? We are a small, low-impact; exclusive camp that provides personalized service at a high standard. We have a passion for our guests experience, our staff members well-being and the conservation of the area surrounding us. We guarantee a unique and Kenyan safari experience like no other. Our Conservancy offers hard-hitting game-viewing throughout the year and comprises open savannah and a treelined section of the Mara River with high concentrations of plains game and the wildlife numbers are particularly intensified during the annual wildebeest migration. 2. When is the best time of year to visit Losokwan Camp? Losokwan Camp is open throughout the year with high concentrations of plains game even in the driest of months making game drives always productive. The wildlife numbers are, however, particularly intensified during the annual wildebeest migration from mid-july to late October. 3. What wildlife am I likely to see while on safari in Lemek Conservancy? While we cannot completely guarantee any particular sightings, the big five and plains game are quite plentiful and birds are abundant in the Conservancy. You will therefore have a high chance of encountering while on game-drives and walks. 4. I ve never been on safari before. What should I bring with me? Enough Clothes for change for both chilly & hot times, shoes [Sandals & Flip Flops], sun block cream, sunglasses, a pair of binoculars, camera, flash light/torch, sundries, guidebooks and books to read. 5. Do I need travel insurance? It is advisable that you arrange for travel insurance for your Kenyan safari. This will help in covering your medical services, lost luggage or travel documents as well as other additional expenses. 6. Which documents do I need to travel to Kenya? A valid passport and visa; also ensure you have the appropriate inoculations required for entry into the country. 7. How do we pay, and in what currency? Can we use a credit card? You may pay for your safari using cash, bank transfer or credit card. We accept all credit cards. If you choose to pay with cash, we will accept Kenya Shillings and US Dollars. Please ensure that all US Dollar notes that you bring into the country are dated from the year 2000 or later, as earlier notes are not accepted in Kenya. 8. What security and safety measures do you have in place at Losokwan Camp? We have guards patrolling the camp throughout the day as well as at night. As there is no fence around the camp, walking around after dark without a guard is prohibited. We also provide a safety deposit box for your personal valuables. 9. What will happen in case of a medical emergency? We have first aid box and a stock of basic medicines in camp. All guides, the camp managers, and key staff members are trained in wilderness first aid. If need arises we offer temporary medical evacuation services to the nearest local hospital/clinic. 10. Is the water in camp safe to drink? We provide mineral water from Nairobi in every room for drinking and brushing teeth. We also provide clean drinking mineral water during the day and to be taken out on all game-drives and other activities.

7 11. What kind of food can I expect at camp? At Losokwan Camp, we strive to provide a variety of balanced, healthy meals throughout your stay with us. Each meal is different, with everything from fresh fruits and baked goods in the mornings to sumptuous roasts and fresh vegetables in the evenings. 12. Do you cater for special dietary needs? We are happy to cater to special dietary requirements; whether vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerance or a gluten allergy. Please notify us during booking about any dietary needs. 13. Can I bring my kids along? Yes, you may. We feel the wilderness is an experience your child will not easily forget. There is so much to see and learn about. Our guides are great with children; they enjoy sharing with them about the wilderness life and more about growing up in Masai Mara. We do not, however, have a nanny service in camp but baby-sitting services can be organised for those that require it with local nannies and payments settled directly with them. As the camp is in an unfenced area we advice parents to supervise their children at all times. 14. What is a typical day at Losokwan Camp like? Your safari experience at Losokwan offers boundless choice and absolute flexibility. You get to plan your stay and to enjoy your Kenyan safari at your pace. Losokwan has no set programmes or conditions in camp although we can offer suggestions to enrich your experience. We have no hard and fast time-tables, and guests are free to work out their day and activities with their guide and the management. 15. What is the best time to see wildlife? We recommend early morning and late afternoon game drives as these are the most productive hours for game viewing and the temperatures are more pleasant when out on the plains. Photographers will also especially appreciate the light during these times to capture that award-winning shot! 16. Is tipping/gratuity customary? How does it work at Losokwan? Leaving a tip for the staff is neither obligatory nor expected and solely depends on your level of satisfaction with our service. It is, however, greatly appreciated by the staff. Tips will, however, only be accepted in cash and cannot be accepted by credit card. 17. Do you have a feedback system? There is a questionnaire we give our guests to give us their honest feedback. At Losokwan we strive to constantly improve based on received feedback.

8 GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS DEPOSIT PAYMENT A deposit of 25% of the total invoice is required to secure the reservation. The balance of payment is due days prior to your date of arrival at Losokwan Camp. Payment of a deposit will indicate an acceptance of the above booking condition Payments can be made either by bank deposit to our account (to be provided), credit card, cash or cheque. ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE TIMES Rooms are available for new arrivals from 11:00 AM. Check out time on the day of departure is 10:00 AM. Pre-booking is encouraged for early arrivals to guarantee rooms on guest arrival. BOOKING CANCELLATION AND NO SHOW Cancellation must be notified in writing and will take effect the day it is received by Losokwan Camp. Cancellation more than 60 days prior to arrival - refund deposit. Cancellation made within 30 and 60 days - 50% of deposit. Cancellation made within less than 30 days - no refund. No refund is available for cancellations after arrival at the camp. PAYMENTS Unless the Tour Operator has approved credit facilities with Losokwan Camp, the Tour Operator is required to make full payment prior to guest s arrival. Cheque payments will be accepted 7 days to guest check in date. Should payment not be cleared by the bank before guest arrival, Losokwan Camp reserves the right to request cash payment before guest checkin. FORCE MAJEURE All parties shall not be held responsible in the event, and to the extent that the confirmed booking is delayed or prevented by any cause beyond its control, including Acts of God and circumstances not due to its fault or negligence. But please note: Shall the government advice against travelling due to any circumstance; either war or similar event we will do all we can to make it easier for you to postpone your holiday. We will not impose any cancellation penalties for accommodation cancelled at Losokwan Camp if the government advises against travelling. Shall any of this happen please notify in writing our reservations office and we will postpone your holiday as soon as notification is received by Losokwan Camp.
