1 To: California Energy Commission Dockets Office, MS-4 Docket No. 09-RENEW EO Ninth Street Sacramento, CA DOCKET 09-RENEW EO-1 DATE MAY RECD. MAY From: California Off Road Vehicle Association (CORVA) Date: May 10th Subject: Comments and submissions continued from the April 26th Breakout Session for the "Renewable Energy Development Scenario" held in Ontario California. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this process. Please consider this as page 1 to the attached draft document as described below. - A draft work in progress spread sheet titled, "DRAFT RECREATION INTERESTS IN THE DRECP PLAN AREA CORVA". The data on this spread sheet is formulated from public interest and utilizes publicly available Bureau of Land Management (BLM) "Surface Management Status" maps in 1100,000 scale along with relevant BLM "Off- Highway Vehicle Route Supplement" maps as an organizational tool to help inform decision makers of our recreational interests and their approximate locations. The maps are being used only as a graphic tool to submit data with. We understand that the maps themselves as published by the Bureau of Land Management are representational only in nature, are constantly changing and being updated, and in at least one area are involved in a legal process which will alter their contents. For these reasons the maps are for reference only, it is the data represented on the spread sheet, and added to printed maps as mentioned below, which we desire to be considered. - The effort to complete this draft will be three fold. First: future submission of actual copies of the maps referenced with markings on them indicating valuable routes and recreation amenities. Second: a listing of the guidelines and process used in identifying routes and recreation amenities on the maps. Third: further listing of routes and recreation amenities on the spread sheet. - It is our desire that the data included through this process also be included and considered in Land Use, Biological Goals and Objectives, and Transmission issues to the benefit of Mechanized and Motorized Dependant Recreational Activities. - It is our request that we be allowed to continue to submit data in this manner throughout the time period allowed by the public scoping process for the NEPA component of the DRECP. Should Stakeholders be allowed a longer time period for submission of such data we ask to leave that option open for our purposes. 1
2 - Contrary to the instructions for submission of documents to the DRECP, which don't specifically include instructions for spread sheets, this document is being submitted in a common spread sheet file type known as Microsoft.xls. Should you be unable to work with this file type, we will attempt conversion to another spread sheet file type at your request. David Beaumont Alternate Stakeholder to the DRECP for the California Off Road Vehicle Association. 2
