Your transfer to the lodge is normally by a tranquil river boat ride where you can enjoy viewing the local wildlife en-route. 5 Day 03 LAMANAI OUTPOST Shared guided activities from the lodge. The lodge operates a system where guests choose and sign up for the tours they wish to go on each day. So you can sit on the deck, with its sweeping view of the lagoon and enjoy a cool rum punch as you contemplate your many options from the lodge. Activities include exploring Lamanai Mayan temple, nature treks, night walks, kayaking on the lagoon, sunset cocktail cruises and birding tours by boat or on foot. This is one of the best birding locations in Belize as the lodge is in the midst of five distinct habitats which are home to over 300 species. This is a great lodge for couples and families interested in nature and wildlife. 5

7 Day 04 LAMANAI OUTPOST - THE CAYO DISTRICT Shared river & road transfer to Belize City. Meet your onward private transfer to the Cayo District. Black Rock Lodge 1 x Classic Cabaňa on a Bed & Breakfast basis for 4-nights Black Rock Lodge has a unique and stunning location situated on the banks of the Macal River and overlooking the Black Rock Canyon. The lodge has just 20 cabins that all have verandahs that overlook the Macal River and are situated along pathways surrounded by tropical foliage and Belizean hardwood trees. The lodge is in a remote location and off grid, so sustainable tourism is at the heart of its operation. A mountain spring supplies fresh water and hydro-power to generate electricity, and solar panels supplement the electricity to the lodge. Electricity is conserved, however, and rooms have ceiling fans not air-conditioning. Rooms include the simple Classic Cabin, Deluxe, RiverView and Waterfall Cabins with either two queen beds or one king bed and two newly built and stylish River Front suites. An inviting hammock is provided to enjoy the spectacular surroundings in total relaxation. The cabins are airy one-room structures built to take advantage of the fresh mountain breezes. Fully screened windows and high-pitched roof lines create a bright and refreshing rainforest home for our guests. Dining occurs in the spacious open air dining room beneath a large thatched palapa roof. You dine communally and the lodge seats guests at different tables each night. Breakfast and lunch can be chosen from a varied menu, dinner is a set menu that changes daily. 7

8 14-15 Oct CAYO DISTRICT Days at leisure. Enjoy a selection of complimentary activities from your lodge. Your stay at Black Rock Lodge includes a number of complimentary activities. These activities are coordinated by knowledgeable guides who are always on hand to assist you. Explore the 242 acre reserve along the many hiking trails that criss cross it. You could hike through the rainforest on miles of marked trails leaving from Black Rock Lodge to various destinations such as Flour Camp Cave, the Mountain Summit, Vaca Falls, or the Vista Loop. Black Rock guides will be sure to point out interesting flora and fauna along the way. Another option is to take in your fantastic surrounding on mountain bikes. Choose your route and then venture out on your self guided trip on two wheels. Take the plunge and enjoy a swim in the cooling waters of the Macal River. Enjoy swimming in the mountain-fed river with a year-round temperature of about 78 degrees Farenheit. Dive off the floating dock into the jade-green waters, swing from a rope into the river, and relax in the sun on the beautiful, sandy beach. The Macal's clear water is home to a host of tropical fish such as, Tubah, Shishi, Kyato, Bahka, and Bottary. Here you can also find fresh water turtles. Discover the beauty of the Macal River and the surrounding rainforest while relaxing in a tube as the scenery floats by. Starting a mile up from the Lodge at Vaca Falls, guests float through cascades and deep pools along the way. The real challenge is at the rapids just in front of the lodge - free Belikin to those who stay afloat. Ambergris Caye is the largest island in Belize and the main destination for travellers to this western Caribbean nation. San Pedro is the only town on the island and retains a relaxed and welcoming Caribbean feel to it, with the world s second largest barrier reef nearby and first class snorkelling and diving.
