In an exciting educational event presented by Regal CineMedia SM entertainment services and The History Channel, middle school students from across the country will get the chance to do just that through a Big Screen Classroom experience that truly brings history to life. JUST ASK BEN, a live, interactive Q & A session with the real Ben Franklin, will be simulcast live from Carpenter s Hall and the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia to 71 Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE: RGC) movie theatres nationwide on December 2 nd beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET / 9:30 a.m. PT. Ben Franklin himself, live and in person, will answer questions from 10 pre-selected winners of The History Channel JUST ASK BEN Contest, which invited eighth graders to learn about Ben Franklin and his extraordinary accomplishments and submit questions, judged on historical relevance and creativity, that they would Ask Ben if they could meet him today. The winning students will join our Founding Father in Philadelphia, while thousands of students and teachers across America will participate in the event live in a unique, virtual classroom setting in Regal, United Artists and Edwards movie theatres,* made possible by Regal CineMedia s satellite and digital video technology. As a special treat, one attending class will win a personal visit by Ben Franklin to their own school, courtesy of The History Channel. The winning school will be announced during the JUST ASK BEN event. As part of the JUST ASK BEN program, students will also get an exclusive preview of highlights from the new documentary BEN FRANKLIN, which makes its world premiere Sunday, December 5 at 9 pm ET/PT on The History Channel. The two-hour world premiere documentary BEN FRANKLIN chronicles the life of the most accomplished, most accessible but also most paradoxical Founding Father, whose works and words may inspire us, whose essence remains elusive, and who is exceptionally relevant today. Photographed in High Definition (HD) video and shot largely on location in Philadelphia, the documentary allows the viewer to walk in Franklin s footsteps, visiting historic sites that Franklin himself frequented during his life, such as Independence Hall, Christ Church, Elfreth s Alley, Bartram Gardens and the City
2 Tavern. Period re-enactments and archival images and artifacts complete the visual and story telling template. The JUST ASK BEN Big Screen Classroom event is recommended for middle school children in grades 6-8, and tickets for the workshop cost $5.00 per student.
