Wet/Dry Saunas & Jacuzzi Fitness Center The Spa at Honor s Haven Resort s fitness facility is complete with Cybex equipment, free weights, cardio, strength, agility and performance machines to keep your body in good physical condition. Our fitness center all provides a non-intimidating environment to work out in. The fitness center is located on the Ground level and can be easily accessed from the Lakeside Patio or by walking through the Atlantic Hall, which can be found in the resort s Lower Lobby - Point 7on your Facility Map. Take some time to relax and rejuvenate in our wet/dry saunas and indoor Jacuzzi. While wet saunas (a.k.a, steam rooms) offer higher degrees of humidity, (usually around 100%), dry saunas offer very low humidity levels, allowing for higher temperatures. These higher temperatures result in an elevated degree of perspiration as well as a significant increase in heart rate; while still being safe. The Wet/Dry Saunas & Jacuzzi can be found in the Spa; located on the Mezzanine Level of the East Wing. 6 Pedal Boats Fishing Snow Tubing Hiking Trails Whether you re looking for a leisurely walk or a challenging fitness hike, Honor s Haven Resort & Spa has you covered. Winding through the foothills of the Shawangunk Mountain Range, the Resort s trail system (Orange, Yellow and Red) offers hikers three unique journeys to the Mago tree; the largest and most majestic tree in the Resort s woodlands. Depending on the time of year, you may encounter some pesky critters. Use of insect repellent as well as proper attire such as pants, long sleeved shirts, socks and hiking shoes/sneakers are highly recommended. Staying hydrated on your hike is also very important, so make sure to stop by the Coffee Shop for a bottle of water before hitting the trails. Just beyond the Golf Pro Shop - Point 21/22 on your Facility Map. Take a moment to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the lake on one of the Resort s easy to use pedal boats; Enjoyable for the whole family! Visit our Guest Services Desk for the Life-Vests The boat dock can be found directly behind the Resort and is accessible via the Exit in the Lower Lobby Point 15 on Your Property Map. Anglers of all ages will enjoy fishing from the shores of the Resort s private lake. The Resort s lake is home to several species of fish, including Small Mouth and Large Mouth Bass, Perch, Pikerel and Sun Fish. Fishing poles can be rented from the Guest Services Desk; each equipped with a lure. All fishing at Honor s Haven Resort & Spa is catch and release. Offering a traditional walk up / slide down hill, the Resort s snow tubing hill provides tons of frosty fun! 8 Golf Course Looking for an excuse to escape to the fairways? Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., our championship golf course is one of the premiere 9-hole courses in the Northeast; offering a challenge to players of all handicap levels. Situated at the foothills of the Shawangunk Mountain Range and overlooking the glistening calm of the resort s private lake, this course offers 360 degrees of panoramic views. In-Season Tel: / Off-Season Tel: Fax: / golfshop@honorshaven.com Conveniently located near other local golf courses such as the Shawangunk, Tarry Brae, Apple Greens and Rondout Golf Club Hole 1 Lakeview/401 yards/par 4 A fairly straight opening hole with a lake and stately oak tree down the left side of the fairway and a bunker down the right side makes for a difficult drive off of the tee. Hole 2 Cattail/173 yards/par 3 A safe play to the middle of this greed is recommended. The pin positions usually tempt the player to attack on this shortest of the par three holes. Hole 3 Sandburg/509 yards/par 5 A reachable par 5, but filled with high risk. The Sandburg Creek runs parallel to the third hole and the Gully Creek must be traversed off the tee to leave the player any chance of reaching this in two shots. Hole 4 Pine/433 yards/par 4 Hole 5 Runway/204 yards/par 3 Hole 6 Sycamore/606 yards/par 5 The definition bunkers that frame this hole will gobble up any off line tee shot and the landing area between the two. One of the most dominating characteristics of Robert Trent Jones Sr. is the use of long, straight tees known as aircraft carrier or runway tees. This is the longest hold on the course and is a demanding three shot challenge. The Gully Creek which meanders the full length of this dogleg left hole will swallow up any ball hit left of the fairway. Hole 7 Gully/211 yards/par 3 Hole 8 Spirit/417 yards/par 4 Hole 9 Falls/478 yards/par 4 Holes seven through nine have been described as the toughest three finishers in the Met Area. A pin placement right tempts the player to be aggressive when it is cut over the front right bunker. The most difficult hole on the course, and recognized as one of the roughest in the region. Defended by no bunkers or hazards, this hole demands all the shot making skills a golfer possesses. A demanding finishing hole brings the golfer home. This dogleg left par four presents the most difficult shot on the course. Sam s Point Preserve also offers a unique opportunity to hike through the greatest open fault in the United States (known geologically as the Ellenville Fault and locally as the Ice Caves); capturing snow and ice in the winter and preserving some of it as late as August!
