1 ARIZONA HISTORICAL SOCIETY 949 East Second Street Library & Archives Tucson, AZ (520) MS 1377 Property/Street Plat Map Collection DESCRIPTION This collection consists of a grouping of plat maps and drawings depicting property, streets and commercial and public developments. The sheets came from diverse donations and were consolidated from the AHS archives. The majority of the sheets were originally from the Pima County Recorder and Assessor Offices. A large proportion of the collection features Tucson locations with additional miscellaneous sheets featuring other community projects or locations in Arizona. 3 Boxes, 57 linear ft. of flat Sheets and Binders INTERPRETIVE NOTE Plat maps provide an accurately scaled diagram showing boundaries and subdivisions of a piece of land together with data required for an accurate identification of the various parts. Maps may be researched and in many cases purchased through county agencies and departments. In Pima County, Arizona plat maps may located through the Pima County Geographic Information System. Since plat maps are primarily used to depict property locations they contain no property or development history. Areas of property may have numerous maps throughout its history showing changes in the property, subdivision, resubdivision, etc. ACQUISITION Numerous Donations.
