There, we will go snorkeling for about two hours in the most important Coral Reef of Costa Rica where you could see: 35 distinct species of coral, 123 species of tropical fish, 3 species of sharks, 6 species of eels, 3 species of sea urchins, 140 of shellfish, 44 crustaceans, 128 types of algae, sea turtles, sea cucumbers, ocean sponges, lobster, shrimp, among others. You will be provided with snorkeling equipment (mask, fins and snorkel tube). B) HIKING: After Snorkeling, you will be given a tropical fruit snack plus water and then begin the second part of the tour, which is the hiking in the trail of the Cahuita National Park with one ours naturalist tour guides. The guide will take you to different points between Cahuita Point and the town of Cahuita (3.5 km) observing various types of snakes (boas, bocaraca, bush master, eyelash vipers, etc.), sloths, white faced and howler

Clothing Change,Rubber-soled shoes that can get wet MINIMUM: 2 people DURATION:4 to 6 hours approximate (from the pick up up to the drop off) 1.3) SNORKELING IN CAHUITA NATIONAL PARK You will meet your captain and guide who will take you by boat to the coral reef where you will go snorkeling for two hours at two different points in the Cahuita National Park.afterwards you will go to the beach to rest and have a snack of tropical fruit. Next you will start a 1½ hour guided hike through the National Park. This National Park is a combination of beautiful beaches, coral reefs, and a tropical rainforest where you can easily observe many species of monkeys, sloths, frogs, butterflies and more. The coral reef of this park includes about 240 natural habitats. There are 123 different species of fishes, 44 species of crustaceans, 140 shellfish and 1281 various algae that have been identified so far. You also can observe 35 different coral species such as fire coral, and the red and black coral which is unique to this area. At the end of the hike, the car will take you back to your hotel in Puerto Viejo. Duration: 6 hours approximately. Departure: 08:00 a.m. approximately. Level: Easy o moderate. Donation for park rangers (suggested amount: 1000 colones) Minimum: 2 persons 2) Nature tours 2.1) Tortuguero Over Night Tour This tour takes place in one of the country's most majestic wetlands, "Tortuguero". This place has the peculiarity that can only be accessed through their natural channels or by plane. Every corner of this wetland full of life, where tourists can enjoy one of country s most preserved a tropical. Tortuguero is characterized by being one of the places with most sightings of green turtles in the country, where between the months of July to October they come to nest on the beaches. Our tour begins at 8:00 am in the morning with pick up in the different hotels to be leaving from Puerto Moin up to Tortuguero, arriving to the town around 9:30 am, the advantage of starting from Moin is that the tourist will have the opportunity to enjoy the entire trip along the canals from the city of Limon until Tortuguero s community. These boats have individual seats with different capacities (4, 6, 8and 12 passengers) and motors with 25 to 75 H.P. There also include life jackets, a refrigerator with snacks, bottled water and a bilingual guide. On the way to Tortuguero, the captain will explain the general aspects of the area, such as flora and fauna other areas traveled. The goal of Tree of Life is to rescue animals that suffered problems to then release them in to their natural environment. The refuge has flat trails that will take you to different modules were they have the animals in their rehabilitation process. Also, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the Botanical Garden with more than 1000 species herb plants and trees, some of them with healing properties. Some of the animals that you would see are howler monkeys, white monkeys, white nose coatis, pecaris, kinkajou, agoutis, toucans, deers, butterflies garden and much more. MINIMUM: 2 people 2.3) Sloth Sanctuary & Rescue Center Aviarios del Caribe is an Integrated Model who works in research, protection and rehabilitation of sloths. Tourists arriving at Sanctuary will meet with their specialized guide and then see a short presentation of 12 minutes. In this video you will learn from these small and enigmatic creatures.. Then take a boat for up to 5 people, guide and boatman for 45 minutes Star travel the river through tropical vegetation watching their wealth and exuberance of Caribbean rainforest. Then a 20 minute walk where you will see sloths in the wild, birds, butterflies, monkeys and other species. Finally can visit the gift store that features a number of memories of the Sloths.

(from the pick up until the drop off) 2.4) HIKING IN CAHUITA NATIONAL PARK We will pick you up from your hotel at approximately 8.00 a.m. and depart to the village of Cahuita Cahuita is a small village located 16 kilometers north of Puerto Viejo and is famous for its white sandy beaches and its beautiful National Park. There will be a guide waiting for you to start the hike through the Park. This guided hike lasts about 3 hours and you will be able to see a rich and wide variety of animals and plants which can be found in the protected area. Furthermore the guide will provide you with information about the history of Cahuita. The National Park is a combination of beautiful beaches, coral reefs, and a tropical rainforest where you can easily observe some of the many species of monkeys, sloths, frogs, butterflies and more. As soon as we get to Punta Cahuita we will rest, have a snack of tropical fruit, and then start our hike back to town where the car will be waiting to take you back to your hotel. Donation for park rangers (suggested amount: 1000 colones) Minimum: 2 persons 2.5) VOLUNTARY: SEA TURTULE CONSERVATION If you are interested in helping the turtles, you can volunteer at Gandoca Manzanillo. At the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, you are able to find on the most important beaches for the nesting of sea turtles. The community has developed a conservation project for the turtle species that visit the beach. Gandoca Tours offers the opportunity to participate in the voluntary program, where you will be able to support this noble cause and contribute with your time to the realization of restoring the sea turtle population. You will be given a training of the activities you will partake in during your stay with the project (patrols, beach cleanups, nursery control, data collection, various activities). You will be provided with various loding options with local families. Your meals will be provided by the family where you will stay. Minimum: 5 days required to participate: Practicum, course, local guide and all meals included. February to August every year. General description: At Gandoca beach, 3 types of sea turtles can be found: hawksbill, green and leatherback turtle, of which the latter is in serious danger of extinction because of the loss of its most important nesting areas, beach erosion, water contamination and most importantly: humans. Since some time already, Gandoca has developed a conservation project to protect these species. The local community manages this project and involves the local families directly through a volunteering program. Volunteering project: Each season, families prepare for receiving volunteers that will be given the task to help local staff with patrols at the beach as well as the construction of nurseries, beach cleanups and other

8 activities. PUERTO VIEJO, CAHUITA, The patrols have the goal to find nesting females and provide them with assistance and protection, the recollection of data and relocating the eggs to the nursery or any other ideal natural location. The construction of the nurseries is a difficult task where parts of the sand needs to be cleaned and disinfected, and mesh needs to be placed to protect the eggs from predators. During the day you will engage in beach cleanups, as the waves bring in a lot of trash. The patrols are carried out during the night from 8 to 12pm (1st shift) and 12 to 4am (2nd shift) in different sectors of the beach. The volunteers will be committed to complete each assigned task. When you arrive, you will be given an orientation and basic training on how to work with turtles. 5 days minimum are required for participation. Lodging and meals: The local families have adapted their homes to receive volunteers, with clean and green living spaces. The rooms are small yet comfortable, generally equipped with mosquito nets and pillows. Some may be shared with other volunteers. The meals are 3 typical ones that include many local produce. These families live close to the beach and offer basic amenities such as water, electricity and a phone. In Gandoca there is no internet nor cell phone service. There is a small bar, mini super and 8 km away you will find a bank and schools. Among the activities offered in the area, you will find the Gandoca lagune, lush forest, farms, horseback riding tours and wildlife observations. 2.6) TURTLE WATCHING GANDOCA When it s turtle season, don t lose the opportunity to observe sea turtles in Gandoca Manazanillo. The minivan will pick you up at your hotel at approximately 6:30 pm. The ride will take you to Gandoca Beach (approximately 1 hour to get to the beach). Arriving in Gandoca at the center of operations and lecture room located 100 meters form the beach, you will receive a educational lecture that informs you about the turtles and the

9 conservation projects that are being developed in the area. Furthermore, there will be refreshments and clean bathrooms to your disposal, as well as a telephone and safe parking space. We will continue to wait at the beach until we are informed of the exact place where the turtles are located at that moment. Immediately we will be headed towards the location to observe the spawning. During the whole project, the guide will give details and information about the turtles. Duration: 6 hours approximately Departure: 6.30 pm approximately. Minimum: 2 persons It is absolutely prohibited to take photographs, including those without flash. Also, you cannot use your cell phone or smoke at the beach. 2.7) BIRD WATCHING This tour takes place in the Keköldi Indian Reserve, an ideal location for bird watching in different habitats. We will make short stops during the trajectory until we get to a tower, which is a migratory bird watching research center. This place is considered the third most important in the world for the sighting of birds of prey. From this viewpoint we watch an average of to birds per day during the season. Among them are species like hawks, falcons, redheaded buzzards, heron storks, toucans, parrots, hawks, manaquines, tanagers, a variety of hummingbirds, honeycreepers, euphonies, orioles, warblers, flycatchers, trogons, the blackchested magpie (endemic from the Caribbean low slope), and the surprising Buco Barbón. Migration occurs from north to south, between August and December, and from south to north between February and May; but we have a great diversity of endemic birds throughout the year. Minimum: 2 persons 2.8) GANDOCA MANZANILLO RAINFOREST HIKE We will pick you up from your hotel and drive you by microbus to Manzanillo where your guide will be waiting for you to take you on this 4 hour jungle adventure through this refuge. Apart from the great variety of vegetation, you will also observe animals like monkeys, toucans, sloths, snakes, caimans and an enormous variety of birds. The beauty of this refuge is its incredible forests, lagoons, coral reefs and white sand beaches. It is located in the most isolated and exotic place on the entire South Caribbean coast. This refuge protects 4,500 hectares (over 11,000 acres) of sea, 15 kilo- meters of coast and 5,000 hectares (over 12,000 acres) of plants and hills with maximum height of 115 meters. At the end of this beautiful adventure you can take a walk or just relax on the beach while you wait for the microbus to take you back to Puerto Viejo. If you wish to pass more time on the beach please let the guide know so we can arrange the transportation for you. Duration: 5 hours approximately. Departure: 7:00 a.m. approximately. We may have to cross a river during our trek (especially if it s rainy season), we will just remove our shoes and put them later on. Minimum: 2 persons 2.9) Manatee Watching Tour In this tour you will visit the San San Pond Sak Wetlands in Panamá, which is Ramsar place ( the international convention that protects Wetlands), where you would be able to see Manatees which is one of the biggest aquatic mammals in his natural environment. Our adventure begins with the pick up at the respective hotels, then we will go direct to CR- Panama s border to make migration formalities. Then from the border we take a transportation to the entrance of San San Pond Sak to start with a brief explanation about the Manatee conservation project made by the community. Then we will take a 40 minutes boat ride to the Manatee s observation platform, during the trip you will enjoy the nature surrounded by Wetlands, aquatic plants, mangrove, and aquatic birds. After we arrive to the platform, we will wait until the manatee appear to eat the organical bananas. Once we finish with the Manatees Watching Tour we will visit the Don Sixto s organic farm, who will explain you how works the organic production and their benefits. After we will have a lunch break before we start our return back to your hotel in Costa Rica. There you will meet Raul, our experienced guide, a great lover of horses with whom you will share this wonderful experience. It is important to communicate to Raul your ability as a horseback rider, to give you a horse according to your level. The passion he feels for these animals gives us a great opportunity to answer all your concerns about these great friends. Do not hesitate to ask any questions. Once assigned to a horse, we are ready to ride towards Punta Uva to enjoy a beautiful stroll along the shores of the Caribbean Sea to reach the estuaries of Punta Uva River. Afterwards we will begin our return along the paths of the wetland, an ideal time to learn about the different species of animals and plants that we find on our path. 14 3.4) THE JUNGLE ADVENTURE PUERTO VIEJO This is an experience full of excitement and different activities in one day, in an impressive and exhuberant environment. We will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to our office in Puerto Viejo. Here you will meet your guide that will give you some explanation about the basic securities. We start the tour by driving about 30 minutes until we get to our operation center, where they will explain basic rules for safety. From here we will head towards a river by crossing a hammock bridge where you can prove your abilities. We will start a hike in the river surrounded by spectacular landscapes. We will use canyoneering equipment in parts of the hike and will take our time to swim in the natural pools. At the end of this hike we will do a rappel 18 meters down a waterfall. We will leave the river and hike through the primary forest to get to our next adventure, tree climbing. Using a harness, we will climb 16 meters on a tree to get to a platform where we will start the canopy tour. We will enjoy fruits on one of the platforms. After that, we will do one of our most adrenaline pumping experiences: the Tarzan Swing 16 meters above the ground. At the end we will glide through a 300 meters cable flying like SUPERMAN You will be served a lunch box juice and water at our resting area before starting our return trip to Puerto Viejo. This is an experience full of adrenaline rushes that you will definitely remember for the rest of your life! Duration: 6 horas approximately. Departure: 08:00 am. approximately. 15 3.5) CANOPY TOUR PUERTO VIEJO PUERTO VIEJO, CAHUITA, Once we have picked you up from your hotel and after having formed the group in our main office, we will head towards the farm (Carbón 1) which is located 30 minutes away from Puerto Viejo. The transportation unit will drop you off at the operation base, where you will find the first platform and after 2 cables we will enjoy one of the most spectacular cables (285 meters length, 80 meters altitude) that will take us to the heart of the jungle from where we will begin a guided hike with one of our naturalist guides. The guide will teach us about the flora and fauna of the primary forest, and the use of these plants by the indigenous people. After the hike, we will get to another platform to continue our adventure. Our Canopy consists of 9 aerial platforms and 13 ground platforms, with a total of 2760 meters of cable. Once we reach the seventh platform, we will not touch the ground again until the end of the route, so we will cross and watch the jungle as birds do. In order to be completely immersed in the jungle surroundings, we have replaced the former steel cables with cables made out of carbon fiber in this particular part of the jungle. These cables are of the latest technology with the quality of being completely silent, thus avoiding noise pollution of the jungle. Our naturalist guide will continue explaining the environmental curiosities that surround us. In one of the sections of the aerial route, we will have the opportunity to descent from the platform to the ground with the Tarzan swing or with the last canopy cable. Finally, we will begin our return, saving the 2 most spectacular cables for last. Once we arrive back to the farm, you will be served fruit and water in our resting area before we return to your hotel. Add another bit of adrenaline and be sure to try our SUPERMAN cable. You will glide through a 300 meters cable flying like the famous superhero. Duration: 4 hours approximately. Departure: 8:00 a.m. and 01:00 p.m. approx. PUERTO VIEJO, CAHUITA, 4) Cultural tours 4.1) Indigenous Tour Kekoldi & Bri Bri Reserve In this tour we visit the iguana farm and medicinal plant garden of KEKOLDY indigenous reserve, where a small indigenous family dedicates itself to the reproduction of the Green Iguana, a species that was endangered and thanks to some initiatives like this one have been recovered. The trip wills proceed with a visit to an indigenous family where 5 generations live together under the same roof. This will be a real close contact with this family s lifestyle. You will get to know their houses, cooking, medicinal plants, chocolate production and many other aspects about their lives. Also, you will taste chocolate with different aromas and flavors. You will have the opportunity of grinding your own chocolate and get to know the secrets behind this old process. After the chocolate demonstration, you will join the family for a delicious home-cooked meal that will include typical indigenous ingredients. After lunch, we will move foreward to one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the area: the Rio Catarata Waterfall. Minimum: 2 persons 4.4) KEKOLDI INDIAN RESERVE Our trek begins inside a former abandoned cocoa plantation. Little by little we start ascending into the secondary and primary forests, zones rich in natural and ecological treasures to study and share. This community is accessible only on foot. It is necessary to be in good physical condition and to wear appropriate foot gear like climbing boots, or rubber boots in the rainy season, or supportive running shoes in the dry season. These paths have a certain degree of difficulty for persons with physical or cardiac problems. Your guide will give you information about the community, its history, culture, and traditions. You will also learn about the achievements realized by the Wak ká könekè Association in the investigation of birds inside this community. Through the newly formed organization of Orök wak ká S.A., they intend to make every effort to create new self-sustaining alternative employment for the partners and neighbors of this community. The population of this area consists mostly of indigenous Bribri and Cabecar with their own clans and languages. During the tour you will enjoy listening to birds, frogs and other animals while observing varieties of butterflies including the morphos and the heliconios. You will also learn how to identify many edible and medicinal plants and their properties. The maximum altitude of our trek is 220 meters above sea level. During the hike we will take short breaks along the way until we reach our destination platform where you can rest and enjoy the panoramic landscape. From this point you can see the Talamánca mountain chain, Panama, and the Sixaola valley, and the breaking waves up and down the coastline. In addition, this is a great place to observe the migratory habits of birds two seasons a year. They migrate from North to South America during August to December, and then from South to North America during February to May. Throughout the migration season you can observe anywhere from 50,000 to 450,000 thousand birds per day including sparrow-hawks, falcons, zopilote red head, blue stork and others. The information obtained at this center indicates this zone is critically important during the migration seasons. If you choose the half-day trek, from this point you will return to the road and our bus will take you back to your hotel in Puerto Viejo or Cahuita. If you choose the long trek, your guide will take you to a wonderful waterfall 27 meters in height where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. On the way back, you will visit an indigenous family to enjoy a tasteful typical lunch and learn about their legends and culture. Duration: 4 hours for the half-day trek; 6 to 8 hours for the long trek.
