We have the respective permits granted by the ports authorities (INCOP and JAPDEVA) and this gives us the facility to pick up all our clients directly in front of the Gangway. 5 PORT OF CALL: PUNTARENAS & CALDERA. Greenway Tours operate tours from both piers. Puntarenas pier is located in the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica and right in front of the City. From the Capital City San Jose, this pier is located at 60 miles and 90 minutes driving distance. It is a small narrow pier that can accommodate 2 cruise ships at the time. From the cruise ship s gangway to the main entrance the walking distance is only 300 feet. Once at the main street, the passengers can visit the picturesque city, with many Bars & Restaurants along the Paseo de los Turistas Boulevard. This pier is operated by the Costa Rican Government under the administration of INCOP, a public institution. This pier is exclusive for the attention of cruise ships and only authorized companies as Greenway Tours can have access to it. Mostly of the cruise ships dock in Puntarenas, but few docks in Puerto Caldera. Puerto Caldera is another pier, but it is located about 10 miles from Puntarenas City. It is under the administration of a private company and for this reason sometimes it is more difficult to have access to it. It is important to keep in mind that even some cruise lines indicate Caldera as a port of call, at the end they dock in Puntarenas. This is the case of Holland America. Puerto Caldera is more used for Cargo Ships. In case Greenway Tours do not have access to this port, mostly of the times the port s company offer a shuttle bus service from the ship to the main gate, where our staff and buses will be waiting for the passengers. Only few ships during the season dock at this port. 5

This pier is operated by the Costa Rican Government under the administration of JAPDEVA, a public institution. This pier is exclusive for the attention of cruise ships and only authorized companies as Greenway Tours can have access to it. 6

Upon arrival to Cahuita Town, we will get into the park for a 45 minutes nature walk for enjoy the rich biodiversity of the area, along a flat and shady trail that runs along the shoreline. Monkeys, Sloths, Iguanas, Toucans, Colourful Frogs and many other species are very common to see during this tour. This is a very easy walk for all, from kids to seniors. 3) Visit a Banana Plantation, where many interesting facts about this amazing fruit will be explained: The Crop, harvesting, processing, packing and exportation.
